I've been especially interested in the posts and photos of the port today.  We'll be going there (fingers crossed) on the '26 World and haven't made plans yet for that day.  I can't see spending upwards of $1,000 for a HAL tour.  I checked out Adventure Falklands but their website gives no tour details or prices....have to contact them.  I may be in the minority, but I don't like that (giving my email address before I've committed).  I liked the idea of walking to the Visitors' Center and picking up a tour there.  I think it was Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser who did that?

Because DH and I both deal with bad back issues, we chose the Bertha's Beach and Gypsy Cove tour. It was about a 4-hour tour and we saw a lot of the island plus the penguins.

I spoke to the doctor's office today.  I had already read the ultrasound results this morning on the patient portal of the facility I was at last Wednesday.  Further evaluation was recommended so I have an appointment with a specialist who will do a biopsy on Oct. 7, 20 days from today.  That's the earliest they could book me since they are already booking in November.  I'm sure it will be fine waiting a short time and the doctor's nurse confirmed that for my case.  I'm feeling positive. 🙂

Sending you our best wishes Sandi.

Thanks to my friends here for your concern and support for me.  I appreciate you Carolyn @Cruising-along, Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser, Charlene @cunnorl, Terry @smitty34877, Debbie @dfish, Joy @Seasick Sailor and @seagarsmoker.  Your signature says J. Brown but I wish I knew your first name because I would love to address you personally!

Joy @Seasick Sailor that was thoughtful of you to think of Allen's military baseball cap while in Japan.  I can't wait to see what you bought to wear while there!  Your waiter looks familiar so I've probably seen him on a prior cruise.  He looks so friendly, but don't they all??

It's Jody and Suzi Brown

@StLouisCruisers Prayers for a good outcome with the biopsy. Jody beat me to it, posting his real name.

Thank you Elizabeth, Melanie, Jody and Suzi, and Vanessa!  I'll make note of your names Jody and Suzi so I don't have to ask again. 😉

@StLouisCruisers I’m sorry you have to wait, but unfortunately that is pretty normal.  Hoping you get good results!  So much easier once you know.  Wishing you the best!

@Seasick Sailor if you visit the fortress and try the local crab in Hakkodate, it’s

wonderful!

@Quartzsite Cruiser so glad your dental implant went so well.  You inspire me!  Won’t know for six months if my bone graft worked.  Fingers crossed.

Got the report from my MRI yesterday. I have a slight tear in the meniscus which is what has been causing me pain for the last five months. I’m having a telephone conference with my attorney tomorrow afternoon to see how we’re going to proceed.

Dixie, good luck getting that meniscus repaired, and getting some compensation for the pain and inconvenience of your injury caused by the other person's inattention and carelessness. 👍

Thank you Brenda @bennybear!

My pleasure Jody @seagarsmoker!

@StLouisCruisers Sandi, thanks for updating us.  I am glad you have some results and a date for a biopsy. Prayers.

@0106  Tina, oh my on your DHs fall and needed back surgery.  I am glad he is on the mend and you both will be on the Hawaii cruise.  We can swap stories of the fine medical system in the Netherlands.  Tell him we are all cheering for him to heal quickly.

Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser thanks for updating us in Roy.

No AC yet.  The unit needs replacement.  There is an expensive part that needs replacement and it if the current freon is put in it will not take the 2025 so it makes more sense to replace the 22 year old unit.  Maybe in a few days.  Thankfully it really cools off in the evening.

Thank you Nancy @ottahand7 for your support and prayers.  I'm bummed you couldn't get the AC unit fixed and those new units are a pretty penny, aren't they?  Best of luck getting this taken care of ASAP.

And thank you Terri @Cruzin Terri for your kind words.  Your sunset view reminds me of some of ours seen here from our back yard.

Just doing a little work for tomorrow morning's Daily and my morning posts before bedtime.  A little reading afterwards and off to bed.  Sweet dreams everyone!

Brenda, I hope ypur bone graft takes.  The bone graft was May 20 and the implant was put in then.  August 20, I had to go in for the impressions.  Today, all they did was exchange the place holder for the post and then put the crowns on.  The only thing I noticed to night was the cold from the ice cream was conducted to a nerve, but not enough of a problem to make me stop eating ice cream.

Good evening everyone. Do we  have any Oreo cookie lovers here? I just tried the limited edition Coca Cola flavored ones. They have a sweet aftertaste and are red on one side.
@StLouisCruisersSandi, the waiting is the hardest part. 🙏 for you and the surgical team.

Sweet dreams to all .

I like Oreos but I'm not sure about Coca-Cola Oreos.

Good Morning Daily Friends.  I have been MIA for a few weeks and want to provide a brief explanation.  On the 12th night on our wonderful Best of Norway cruise, my DH fell and was in extreme pain.  The medical center could do little but provide pain killers.  Katerina the front desk manager was there for me every step of the way.  On Saturday morning, he was taken by ambulance to the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the largest hospital in the Netherlands.  He had his C5 and C6 fused on Monday.  We received excellent care and he was discharged the following Saturday.  Thank God we had insurance and were flown home business class on Sunday.  He is no longer in pain and will be in a neck brace for 10 more weeks.  He will be able to start PT at the beginning of December and we will be ready for our Hawaii cruise in January.

I read the Daily every day and the pictures of the ports uplifted my spirits.  I am happy to be able to share some photos with you today.

I am so happy we made it to Stanley on the Oosterdam in February 2024. and I would highly recommend going to Volunteer Point.  The Viking ship cancelled the port because of the winds. The islanders were not expecting us.  Our wonderful captain got us ashore.  There were 55 knot winds when the tenders returned to the ship.

I highly recommend Adventure Falklands (formerly Patrick Watts company).  Our driver was a 5th generation Falklander and extremely interesting and informative.  Our Land Rover drove in a convoy with 4 other vehicles.  It was a 2 hour drive but not as rough as I expected.  Driving over the peat bog was an adventure in itself.  Our driver said that the gravel road would reach Volunteer Point within the next 5 years making for a smoother drive.

Sending positive thoughts to everyone who needs them.  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.

Gosh Tina, I am so sorry that this happened to your DH. It sounds like he was in good hands. I’m sure you are both happy to be home. Thank you for sharing with us. And I also loved your penguin pictures.
