  1. @JazzyVHappy Wednesday.  @rafinmdsorry to hear about your troubles with the health care system "stuff."  Hope it all gets cleared up quickly, and that your elevated psa turns out to be "ok." @bennybear I'm getting a repeat bone density scan today...my facility just got a new machine and they are checking out results with people who had recent scans done.  @seagarsmokerHappy Anniversary! @JazzyVI hope you get some help with your pain issues...no fun dealing with that.

    I'm donating blood this afternoon, hoping it goes well...sometimes I feel ok after, sometimes I get that "pass-out" feeling after I get home.  I would like to go to our library tonight, they are having a talk about "local ghosts."  They always have very interesting talks. Did "reading buddies" with the littles at school this am, they are always so much fun!  They like to tell silly jokes!  What do you call a goat that escaped?  An escape-goat!  LOL!  Kind of a dreary day here, yesterday we broke a record---82F.  Today its 50 something and kind of dreary.  The leaves are hanging on, and the colors are still very brilliant here.  Have a great rest of your day.

  2. Good evening, I'll take nachos for dinner along with a strawberry margarita!

    @dfishYour views look wonderful!

    @RMLincolnYour view also looks beautiful, hopefully you'll have great views at your new place!

    @smitty34877thinking about you as you adjust to your new life...

    @HAL SailerGood to here that your DH is home again, thinking about you as you also adjust to your new issues....

    It's great to see the nice photos and stories here.  We spent a few days "up-north" - about 2.5 hours away.  The changing trees were beautiful.  Here is a sunrise picture for @rafinmd and also a picture as the sun was going down and shining on the trees.

  3. Hello dailyites...thinking good wishes for all who need them, especially Baby Murphy.  Cheers to all celebrating.  @superomaOur library is great!  Lots of programs for all, from babies to everyone else!  I don't get hard copy books so much anymore, but do read books with Libby and Hoopla!  (I can make the font as big as I want!)  I'm making Lasagna soup for dinner tonite, I think I got the recipe here a few weeks ago.  Also made bread in the dutch oven...it smells so good baking.  Tonite is our HOA annual meeting.  Have a great evening, Karen

  4. Happy Wednesday from a cool, dreary day in Wisconsin.  It's drizzling now, and the  forecast is for lots of rain the next 2 days, maybe up to 3 inches!  Bad forecast for Friday night high school football.  Our team is tied for 1st place and plays the other team in 1st tomorrow night.   @RedneckBobthose pictures look scary!  Happy Birthday to @cruising sister  Haven't been to Costa Maya, but our church body has a mission there, it's thriving and growing, that's a blessing!  I have church friends who took a cruise with that as a port, they got to see the new mission and visit the people there.  @dfishthe first taco soup recipe looks good, I have it bookmarked, it is getting to be soup season.  I have a new dutch oven to use for soups and bread making.  I have lots of saved recipes from the computer, have thinned out the cookbooks to just the favorites.

    @marshhawkEnjoy your travels, Bon Voyage!

    Have a good rest of the day, Karen

  5. Happy Wednesday, thanks for all of the sharing and caring here.  The pictures are great!  Yay for Girl Child day!  A big thanks to ER nurses, I've spent some time there with my dear parents.  Our Children's Hospital is opening a new and expanded ER this week, they said they out grew the old one a long time ago, and it's much needed with the winter season coming on us.  I'll take a Moscow Mule.  When my niece got married a few years ago, that was their signature drink!  I had a few that night, it was a great wedding!  Our dear son in law is a "big honcho" at the hotel venue they used, so he kept getting me refills from the bar!

    I had a busy day today, "reading buddies" at our school this am, and then back again for sewing with 6th graders this afternoon.  We finished a 6 week class, and they all did well!

    So far, feeling well after my flu shot yesterday!

    @NickelpennyHappy Belated Birthday!

    @rafinmdThat Woolworths picture brings back memories!

    Virtual Hugs to all who need them, and cheers to the rest!

    Have a great evening, Karen

  6. Happy Tuesday!  Just went and got my Flu vaccine, I'm not getting more than 1 at a time.  Have to figure out if I want the RSV vaccine, and when to get the covid booster.  Cruising in February, so not sure if I should wait a bit to have it closer to that trip.  Don't want it "worn off" by then.  My last dose was in November last year. So far, my arm feels ok.

    @marshhawksorry to hear about your troubles before you leave.  I got 2 text messages the last 2 days about a package at the post office, it took a bit of reading and re-reading them to figure out they were scams, but 2 in 2 days???  Someone needs to put their technology skills to better use.  We had credit card fraud issues last summer, it took a bit to get it all straightened out, I feel for you...

    @cruising sistersorry to hear about Baby Murphy, she is in my daily prayers, along with her family and caregivers.

    Prayers for all in need, and good thoughts for those cruising or traveling!  karen

  7. Happy Saturday!  I do read here every day, but don't post often.  Prayers for all who need them, and cheers for those traveling and celebrating good things.  The port today looks like a good one, also the meal!  The lasagne soup from last week looked good, might try that soon!  I have a new dutch oven, and I've been trying new things in it.  It's getting to be soup season here,  We had 80's last week, but 50's the last few days.  DGD is dancing at her Middle School Football game today...will need the warm clothes today...last week was hot!  Have a great Saturday, I think we're also looking for a new dishwasher today...the old one is having issues.  Any brand recommendations??

    Have a great day!  Karen

  8. Good afternoon from a cool, damp day in Wisconsin.  We've had a lot of rain the last few days, hopefully it helps with the drought we're having!  I've changed my user name...used to be Ktbraun!

    I might have to have a beer tonite to celebrate Beer day!  @JazzyVThat beer looks great, we were there also, a few years back.  I'll also take some Swedish Meatballs!  I've never been to Ikea, but, can you buy them ready to go?  Might have to try that if it's possible.  Never been to Norway, but the pictures today look great.  My mom's family was from Norway.  Looks like a great place to visit!  We have great neighbors all around us!

    @Quartzsite Cruisergood to hear that your DH is done with surgery, prayers that all goes well for him.

    @rafinmdI've bookmarked your pages, have fun, and safe travels!  Relax and come back refreshed!

    Have a great evening, Karen

  9. Good morning and happy Monday!  It's a great day in Wisconsin for sports fans...the Brewers are in the Playoffs, the Badgers won, and the Packers had a great win yesterday.  DH watched football all day long!

    I think I'll pass on the food today, but I've bookmarked several of the recipes from the last few days.  Never visited the port, but the photos look interesting.  Food service workers are very much appreciated.  I don't read comic books, but my Reading Buddy kiddos like them.  Diary of a Wimpy Kid seems to be a popular series.  I'm more of a beer rather than wine person.  We went to a Fund Raiser beer tasting event for a local kids baseball league on Saturday.  Some I liked, and some, not so much!  Hearing loss is hard...sign language and hearing aids are very important.

    Prayers for all who need them, and cheers to the rest!   To everyone cruising...Enjoy!  It's a few months for our annual winter cruise.  Have a great day!

  10. @smitty34877So sorry to hear of Lou's passing.  My sincere condolences to you and your family.  May good memories bring you peace in the days ahead.

    I'll take a cheeseburger and rice krispy treats any day.  The last time we tried to make the treats, the M&M's melted and it was a mess, but, they tasted ok!

    I'm off to  our Library for a Crafternoon!  Our library has lots of fun stuff for all, ages 0 -??

    Have a good day, K.

  11. @durangoscotsSorry to hear about your dad, prayers that the happy memories give you some peace.

    @kazu, cruisers and everyone in the path of Lee, prayers that you all stay safe during the storms.

    @mamaofamiprayers that all goes well with your DH, and that the surgery is done quickly.

    @rafinmdit's good to hear that you're feeling better!

    I'm having a quiet day today, DH is gone, so it is a little quieter here!  (I think "quiet" day was yesterday!)  I've been working on the projects for our 6th grade sewing class, I'm going to miss next week - going on a quilters bus trip!  I think I have everything set for them on Wednesday!  Just made caprese chicken for supper.  It's easy, and we have lots of tomatoes and basil to use up.  Have a good rest of the day!  K.

  12. Happy Sunday, the pictures from today are wonderful...would love to visit there!

    I knew all of my grandparents, but we had to drive a few hours to visit both sets.  My paternal grandmother was a very " crafty" person.  She loved to knit and sew.  All of our Barbie clothes were made by her.  When I look at those little sleeves, I wonder how she did all of that!  My sister has all of those clothes at her house!  She didn't knit for a while, but memories came back to her when she had to move to a nursing home...she started making baby caps again.  I have a sewing machine, and started today on a baby boy quilt.  Our church quilting group sews for our baptisms, and also for other people in need of a warm hug from a quilt.  Our 2 grand-daughters are also starting to sew, they each have made a couple of quilts!

    Prayers for @rafinmd, hope your case of covid is an easy one and that you feel better soon.  Take care and rest!

    @smitty34877Prayers for you, your husband and your family as you go through difficult times now.

    To everyone cruising or getting ready...Enjoy!

    Prayers and good thoughts for everyone who needs them.

    The Packers game is on now, the start of the new Love era!  Go Packers! image.thumb.jpeg.dd97f0acd38c960b6924b646acd75ac3.jpeg

  13. Hello all, still praying for all who are in the path of the storms.  It's good to hear that folks are OK so far!  We were to Israel for a land tour a while back.  We landed in Tel Aviv from Athens.  We went with our pastor, and a group from church.  It was a special trip!  The pictures today remind me of great memories from those days!  The fish tacos today sound yummy, so does the drink of the day!  I just got home from donating blood, and I'm feeling a bit "poorly" just now.  My bp was 93/70, but I know it will be ok again soon!  DH is going to be in charge of dinner while I rest with my feet up!  LOL!  @JazzyV& @durangoscotsI hear you when it comes to shoe issues...my New Balance shoes are my favorite, it's hard to find something to wear that's sort of dressy!  I found some Vionic gold sandals for our winter cruise.  Have a great evening!  Karen

  14. Hello all, @cruising sisterso sad to hear about Baby Murphy today.  Prayers for her, her family and her care team.  @smitty34877sorry to hear about your DH and Tana, praying today is a better day for all of you.  @Cruzin Terripraying your trip to the clinic goes well.  Stay safe!

    We had a busy weekend.  DGD danced at the 5th grade football game Saturday!  She and her sister both love to dance, and spend many hours at the studio practicing!  Then, our community had it's festival and parade this weekend.  We listened to some good music and enjoyed the parade!  Today, the NP from our medicare plan is coming for her wellness visit.  I'm making some sauce from about 5 1/2 lbs of tomatoes now, I can smell the basil and the garlic as it's cooking!  First time trying this!

    The pictures today look great, thanks for sharing!  More prayers for all who are in the way of storms...be safe!  karen

  15. @Live4cruisesSo sorry to hear about your DH.  Prayers that he heals quickly with minimal pain, and can come home soon.  @marshhawk@smitty34877Also prayers for Lou and Chuck.  I don't have much experience, or words of wisdom, but I can pray for you caregivers also.

    I might try a banana split, but I'd rather have the root beer float we talked about last week!  The food suggestions sound good also, thanks to @0106.  I have a lot of tomatoes that are ripe, and might try to make some spaghetti sauce for the lasagna rollups!

    We're dog sitting tonite for our dear grand-dog!  He was barking at me for 5 minutes....i figured out he wanted his dinner, but it was 2 hours early.  I guess he gets a snack later!  He's snoring now.

     @grapau27Maybe you can check out those cruises from England!  We'll be on the Nieuw Statendam in February, I'm sure you'll hear lots of info here!

    Have a great weekend everyone!  Karen
