New Celebrity Bundle Pricing (Go! Big, Go! Better, Go! Best)

We booked onboard (Nov 2014) with an offer to have gratuities, OBC, and a classic drink package for 2 included in our booking of a Concierge class cabin. We were told as long as we didn't downgrade from Concierge class, we could change to any cruise until Dec 2016 and keep the same offer. Is this still the case with the new bundle pricing?

Karen, you can always go to the casino and withdraw it for the 5% fee.

For now.

I'm afraid to count on that as our (next) cruise isn't until next February.

We currently have 3 more booked after that but I'm concerned about changes.......

it is not available with the good/better/best tiers...it is a different rate. There is a line of small type under the big boxes with good/better/best that says something like "look at more options". click on that to get the 55+ and other rates.

Thanks - I knew I was missing it somehow.

So, if I'm getting this right: the longer the cruise, the more you pay (in per diem upgrade fees) to get the same amount of OBC (??) -- yikes! What rocket scientist came up with this pricing scheme?[/

Apparently they are looking for a new demographic. Passengers who literally think 2+2 = 5.

Hi Wwcruisers,

I know, I know.... all in all, I like the overall concept, but I really think they need to tweak this. For double occupancy, I'd say $400.00 OBC for 10-12 nights, and $500.00 OBC for 13+ nights, and this makes better sense. I'd keep the OBC at $300.00 for singles on all sailings, as this seems fair.

Now you're talking. :D

It is confusing, to say the least.

I did change cabins for our October sailing but not categories, so it looks like my 123 offer is still intact.

So funny!:D But I agree with you. I guess Celebrity thinks that people won't make the effort to check things out.

Our March Equinox cruise in Cdn $$s is now in the $8000 range for 2 in CC...up $1500 per person since we booked in April with $300 OBC, prepaid grats and classic bev pkg. It had increased about a month ago, but with the new pricing it went up another $200 pp and that's only with one perk. This pricing is out of hand in general, but with our $ so low (and getting lower), they may price the north of the border people out of the market.

I'm not sure how they'd be able to implement that because it would have to be at current pricing, and they don't seem to offer a current Concierge rate w/o at least one perk.

Possibly, you'd be able to keep your OBC for booking on board and you'd be charged the current "Go Better" rate for concierge cabin with Classic beverages & gratuities. This is just a guess on my part based on prior experience moving a "cruise now" booking. I was able to keep my OBC, but the current rate and perks offered at the time of new booking were applied.

Don't think anybody really has a final asnwer for this (and it may vary by which rep answers the phone).

Here is the Q I posted about onboard bookings going forward and the answer. Not sure how much it really helps answer your question, though.

Can you please tell us what offers are planned for those who book "Cruise Now" sailing while on-board?

Also, BTW, one of the "still in Moderation" questions was mine regarding her answer to what would happen to existing reservations.

I asked early on so time wasn't an issue and I asked a second time in case it was an inadvertent error in not answering.

Never did get even posted (I can see it because I asked but no one else can.)

I copied and pasted here:

We've already reserved and paid the deposit on a cruise for next summer. This new program won't affect existing reservations, will it?

No existing reservations will be affected. If you would like to upgrade to Go Best, we will take care of that for you with no change to your cruise fare. If you change staterooms, new pricing may apply.

How will you do that if the cruise fare already included the full 1, 2, 3 benefits? $45/day to add the Premium drink package and internet????

They can't possibly think people who already have the all-inclusive package would think it's a good deal to spend $45/person/day to upgrade their beverage package and get some internet minutes, can they?:confused::confused: By my math, my husband and I can upgrade our beverage package for 11 nights for less than $300, but the $45 to make our deal "Best" would be $990! Math wasn't my strong suit in school, but that sure seems like some wishful thinking on the part of Celebrity if they're going to try to pull that with existing bookings.

Unfortunately I have a Europe booking for May 2016 that I already know we need to push out a year. I'm going to start looking around so I know what my options are when the time comes. I can't see us being able to do what we want to do at these prices.:(

Because Lisa kind of said so.

See her answer below.

Several of us tried to clarify but it wasn't posted or addressed.

I tried to ask that question.

I saw her answer and, unless they are planning to give everyone with 123 inclusive free internet and premium package upgrade (ha!), I think she got lost in her answer and it wound up confusing folks.

I think what was being said is that the base price that you paid for your cruise won't change, but you can pay the difference to upgrade to the level you want.

For all those who were wondering if you could upgrade to the Premium Drinks package within the go big or better options. The answer is yes. It's an $11.00 PP Per Day charge and can be added at booking or on board. I'm on an industry call with Celebrity now and asked the question. In case you were wondering where the info came from.

I will do this when I get on board the Constellation in July 2016. We have the 123 go plus other OBC from open passage, and our TA.

We will not do anything but make final payment when it becomes due.

Just checked our C1 cabin with a fake booking with the BEST option. There is only one C1 aft cabin left and the current price is $545 more per person then when we booked last Jan.

This has probably been addressed somewhere in this thread, but I haven't been able to locate it. And if so, I apologize in advance, but I am so confused! Nutshell: we are booked in a Celebrity suite for a 12nighter in October, with the 123GO:

1) Classic Drink Package (with plans to upgrade to Premium, onboard)

2) Free Gratuities

3) OBC of $300

I like the idea of unlimited internet, but since the celebrity suites are all sold out, even if I wanted to cancel and rebook (which I don't, I have a specific cabin booked), I can't. Is it possible to upgrade to the new "best", rather than cancel/rebook, and if so, how? And how is the price determined? I truly appreciate any and all insight. My "final payment" date is fast approaching, so I need to get it all figured out. Have a nice day! :)

Bob,

This is the way I interpreted it. OBC would be $300 for the go big for a single, and go better with a drink package would be $15 per day. How else could it be interpreted? Maybe I am loosing my mind doing all these permutations and computations? LOL

Hi to You and Garry,

Anne

I believe in her response you would pay double if you pick the drink package as you Better perk.

So if you're correct, which I'm sure you are as to what you were told, then the price to upgrade has snuck up $1. Maybe they felt like it could fly under the radar in the middle of all the other changes. With the 18% gratuity it would now be $12.98 per person, per day to upgrade.

Hopefully we as consumers will see something official on this soon.

Quite possibly. They did say that the prices for Go Big, Better, Best included the 18% grats. So the $11.00 should as well. But don't bank on that as I didn't get a chance to cover that question with them.

From the live chat today:

With the Big, Better, Best pricing, how will this be implemented for solo cruisers? I understand the double fair for the cabin (didn't say I liked it), but solo cruisers shouldn't have to pay for two beverage plans, two internet plans, etc.

by Straughn 12:14 PM

Lisa Lutoff-Perlo,...

You will receive double OBC but will not have to pay for double beverage and double internet etc.

In confused. A price would come with 1 pick...so I pick a drink package. It's $180 to upgrade to pick 2 but gratuities for 12 days isn't $180 and who's going to pay $180 for $150 of OBC?

Unless you're in a Suite it doesn't make sense to Pick 2 and choose the gratuities. Not very well though out (or maybe that's the point).

An interesting question! But since this program is all very new, it's probably best if you, or your TA, call X directly and speak to an agent regarding your existing reservation. Please let us know your out come. :)

The "NEW" program aint in the same ball park.

For our next 10 night on the Equinox in Aqua1:

Tx Resident rate with no perks, $2199.00 + $550.00 to buy the Classic, or $270.00 for grats.

The BIG rate $2899.00

Better $3049.00

Best $3349.00

The Resident rate is HUNDREDS MORE  than we paid booking on ship last Nov and getting all 3 perks with $600 in OBC.

Somebody has been drinking the water from the wake!:(

And I see many cabins with no lights on inside them!

The way I read my situation. The base price for the new pick 2 is only $100 more pp then what I paid awhile ago...but in that box on the web page, it says, will upgrade for $150.

I am already getting the $150 pp on the original 123 booking.

So i read it as if I was to canx and immediately rebook for 2 instead of 1 perk, I only pay $100 pp for a second perk, or I can upgrade without canceling for $150 pp.

Is that how it is reading to someone else?

I am thinking for $100pp, to get the beverage package and basic specialty coffee and OBC of $300 for 10 days is worth it just for a few drinks and specialty coffees. $150 will cause me to just stay put with what I have....LOL

Most people will crunch the numbers and then decide if this is worth it. You have to also look at the competition and the price they are charging for the same product without these perks. People seem to really like the beverage package but not when you feel you are over paying for what you think you really drink. My guess is there will always be some sailings that the non suite cabins will be reduced fares with senior or resident rates. Then you can grab a cabin at a much lower rate and pay as you go. You have to give Celebrity credit for trying different things to attract new customers as well as keeping the regulars coming back.
