luvscruising2007 Posted November 9, 2016 #77 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Ugh. We sail on her in 3 weeks. Hope things improve. Just remember that your experience will not be the same as the OP's. And, if you learn anything from this thread, if there is an issue, address it immediately with the correct person. Escalate if you must but follow up if nothing is done to correct the problem. Don't wait until you return home to try to correct something. Enjoy your cruise.
skyhawk352 Posted November 9, 2016 #78 Share Posted November 9, 2016 I am just going by what you said, I looked for the post because I wanted to see what people had to say or if they did indeed ignore you. I found no such post. It Sometimes, even with doing research, we get something we dislike. I booked a hump cabin on Brilliance because so many said they are great and aren't noisy. Worst cabin I have ever had! Live and learn. Do you mind me asking what about the hump cabin you didn't like? I have one for an upcoming cruise.. molly361 Posted November 9, 2016 #80 Share Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) Do you mind me asking what about the hump cabin you didn't like? I have one for an upcoming cruise.. Probably the noise from the Centrum. We had one of them 1 cabin off the hump and yes it was VERY, VERY noisy!! (Centrum noise) Now on that class of ship we make sure that we books at least 6 or 7 cabins down the hall. If you are a late night person you should be okay with it Edited November 9, 2016 by molly361
reallyitsmema Posted November 9, 2016 #81 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Do you mind me asking what about the hump cabin you didn't like? I have one for an upcoming cruise.. It was a terribly noisy cabin because of the noise from the Centrum. Brilliance had an aerial act and lots of other events, including the 70's party, in the Centrum. Plus, there was live music at other times. Noise didn't stop until midnight most nights. The noise is specific to certain classes of ships though, like Radiance class. Hump cabins on other classes do not have the same noise issue.
dreadpirate3 Posted November 9, 2016 #82 Share Posted November 9, 2016 snip Room was A LOT smaller than I had imagined it would be.. After all I have read about them, I was expecting something, but there was no "wow".. The closet was the same as others we have had, bathroom was same size, just had a bathtub, squeezed into it, (which didn't hold water) and the balcony barely could hold two people.. snip I have cruised on the Enchantment. In a balcony cabin. The balcony was certainly large enough for three adults to be out there comfortably, and two to sit. I think you may need to revise your expectations before you cruise again. Z3r0 Posted November 9, 2016 #83 Share Posted November 9, 2016 I'm confused. I don't see how: Strange, because when I did ask about that cabin on this site, no one said a word about it... is the same as: Did a search on threads, thank you for investigating my thread history for me, though... According to dictonary.com, a definition of lie is "an inaccurate or false statement; a falsehood.", and since you made contradictory statements, one must be false, so does that not make you a liar? Don't believe me, I REALLY don't care. I don't lie, and don't appreciate being called a liar.. I stand corrected, sorry. You also mentioned that you don't like being called a liar *cough*hypocrite*cough*, and I'm sure the good folks on this board don't like being called out for not responding to posts that were never made. I'm relatively new to cruising. I've been on 1 Carnival, and 4 RCI with a 5th coming in July. I've had questions about specific cabins in the past, and cabin locations. My first thought is to search for the info I'm looking for. If I don't find what I'm looking for, or have not found enough information, I ask questions. I must say the CC group have been more than helpful, and I respect their opinions and insight, especially when I'm asking for it. And their bull**** detection meter is very high, and they will call you out. Especially if you start calling them out. Lastly: Feel free to talk among yourselves, as I am done with this thread.. I got the email addresses I was looking for, and the flaming I expected. I was hoping to save someone else from this problem room, but y'all seem content in pointing my errors instead. Good Day and God Bless...... The lie detector test determined, that was a lie.... Did a search on threads, thank you for investigating my thread history for me, though... Apparently you're not done with this thread.
lovesthebeach2 Posted November 9, 2016 #84 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Did you ever find out what they were spraying? Yes, it was something strong that they were using to clean the side of the boat. They should have been on the other side, not the port side.
gOogl3pl3x Posted November 9, 2016 #85 Share Posted November 9, 2016 I know this is a dead post but wanted to quickly chime in. TigerLady, I'm sorry you had a less than stellar vacation experience while cruising. I know people spend a ton of money to get away for a week and any problems can lead to frustrations and disappointments. In saying this, the "click bait" title and complaints seem to be way over blown. I can understand your frustration with receiving a poor room recommendation from the call centre but I agree that the reps are not going to say this room is bad and will sell it to you. They probably don't know about the specific room and how do they know your sleeping type. Some people sleep through hurricanes. When you are frustrated and complain, I understand wanting the complaint to be heard and the promised follow up to be completed. But what were you really looking for. Its fine to be upset that someone gave you the "customer service apology" and didn't act on something they promised but they couldn't switch your room. What else were you looking for? Hidden in your entire complaint is good service at the restaurant, excellent experience in the diamond lounge, great housekeeping, complaint resolution for the smoking, good meals and a successful trip to the casino. Sounds like a great vacation to me. RCCL could have a discussion with customer service staff about complaints but they don't deserve a title on a public message board suggesting some major blunders on the service they provide. Just my $0.05. *no pennies in Canada*

Rare John&LaLa Posted November 9, 2016 #88 Share Posted November 9, 2016 We had 8614 on Enchantment. Fairly close to the OP's. Right under the ladies restroom in the Solarium. I thought it would be fine. I was wrong. Surprised how often people flush in the middle of the night. Heard it every time. FWIW, the cabin was fine, the balcony was fine. I don't recall if the tub held water.
cruisinfanatic Posted November 9, 2016 #89 Share Posted November 9, 2016 And that is exactly what I was told.. What I am upset about, is the fact, that the Guest Services person ON THE SHIP, said a complaint would be filed, and someone would speak with us.. NONE of that happened.. I know it wouldn't of changed things, but a SINCERE apology would have gone a long way.. Maybe forgot or lost? I SPECIFICALLY asked the Res agent, about the cabin.. She assured me that I would love it, it was quiet, NO WORRIES.... SHE LIED Midday restocking of the cafe, for an hour to an hour and a half, and from 1:30 - 3:30 AM constant noise. I called down to ask about the noise at 1:42 am. The guest service rep said it was the solarium, and proceeded to hang up on me.. Ok.. Well, we laid for for a while, and eventually got a couple of hours of rest.. In the morning, we were greeted by our next door neighbor, smoking on his balcony. Yes, he was aware, it was prohibited, he told us, he didn't care.. We went to the Windjammer for breakfast, it was good. No complaints.. After finishing our breakfast and couple of cups of coffee, we went to the Guest Services desk, and stood in line. About 15 minutes later, we speak to someone about the noise issue and the "hang up" issue.. Housekeeping was already aware of the smoking incident, someone else reported him... The girl "seemed" genuinely concerned, and a standard, generic apology was issued. She checked for other available cabin, sadly, there were none. She told us she would write up the complaint and submit it to the higher ups, and we would be hearing from someone before we left. I asked if we needed to come back if it was a problem again. She said "No, we now have your complaint on file, not necessary to file another". WRONG And you booked there anyway, LOL? You believed her because you thought she had to know this somehow? You wanted her to bow too?
slyster Posted November 9, 2016 #90 Share Posted November 9, 2016 I would get why they wouldn't want to go into details. Quite a few have been blasted for their complaints here. In the "blasters" defense, sometimes the complaints are ridiculous and sometimes the poster feels they have a valid complaint. I'm not saying she's right or wrong, but I wouldn't want to share here either. You got your answer...try those two emails and hopefully someone responds. It's not like I didn't try to tell you ;) You could have just gotten the email addresses and moved on. You should have just walked away!
troykahack Posted November 9, 2016 #91 Share Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) We typically book GS and most are under something. We get noise in our cabin during late hours and early hours.... but nothing too much we can't deal with.... is it as quiet as home, NO... is it too much.. NO we do get the drink packages... maybe why it does not bother us... smiley faces.... Edited November 9, 2016 by troykahack

north29 Posted November 9, 2016 #94 Share Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) After major issue, like no working toilet, no AC and other REAL minor issues, with some or little compensation or apparent help from guest service, they are just the front line for complaints. You just have to bite the bullet and say I had a bad cruise for 4 days. PS I do agree with the noise, but some one should have informed you about deck 8. davekathy Posted November 10, 2016 #96 Share Posted November 10, 2016 Only speaking for myself. Once I now the ship and type of cabin we are looking at I either look at the deck plans in the Cruise Lines brochures or on line. I always make sure we are not below or above a public area, no big white area next to us and our cabin is not one of the connecting cabins. QUOTE=TigerLady;51512982]I did a search, no one had anything to say.. As I mentioned, there wasn't a solution for the noise, and yes I am too trusting, and won't be again.. To contradictory statements "I did ask" then your called out and you change to " I did a search " Think you just got excited at getting in junior suite and you forgot to do checks you would normally do as an experienced cruiser often there is a reason you get a upgrade to bigger room and you found it [emoji441][emoji448][emoji449] noise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited November 10, 2016 by philip_eunice1
chris_kelowna Posted November 10, 2016 #98 Share Posted November 10, 2016 Do you mind me asking what about the hump cabin you didn't like? I have one for an upcoming cruise.. Skyhawk, we just came off a transatlantic on Brilliance and had a hump balcony on the 7th floor, 7108 to be exact. Yes, there was noise from the Centrum but it was always over before 11 at night. The noise was quite muted with the door shut. There was no noise at all from anywhere else and the nice big balcony made up for the noise in our opinion. Also, the very close proximity to the elevator was brilliant. Sent from my Venue 7 3730 using Tapatalk
