Good evening everyone. We ate tonight in Tuscan. So did Lisa. We saw her at a table not too far away. We knew the bartender in Tuscan, Johnny. He made a point to come out to check on us several times and make sure our wait staff took great care of us.

 

We started with meatballs and a Bianco pizza which was excellent. I forgot to take a photo! We then both had Caesar salads and then lobster pasta and carbonara and each had a filet.

 

Service was prompt with the initial exception of getting wine which was slow. But once we got our first glass we were good. The filet was good quality and a true medium rare.

Thanks for sharing chicagopaul - we are on our first ever cruise on the Equinox following your departure on the 4th. Could you tell me are people dressed up for evening chic? Really wanting to go the whole hog ourselves, evening/cocktail dresses and dinner suits for the guys. Will we look out of place?

I was onboard last week and yes 90% of guys just wear a shirt and pants on Elegant Chic nights in the MDR. Many times not even a button down shirt....

Good morning everyone. I'll start by answering some questions.

 

I have not heard anything on a new head of captains club but there is the Q&A today at 11am so maybe we will hear something then.

 

Evening Chic was yesterday. I saw lots of blazers and nice dresses though I think this cruise, being the presidents cruise, people may be dressed up a little more than usual. I wouldn't worry about being over dressed. You'll always see at least some going all out and dressing up. I know I always enjoy it!

 

Tommy good to hear from you! I hope he's on for you as well but I have a feeling he might switch ships with his next contract. I'll find out what I can.

Last night after dinner we went straight to bed. We were exhausted and very full from dinner. Though I slept awful. The double espresso after dinner is likely to blame! But I'm up and at the pool bar this morning. I can nap later.

 

When we got back to our room last night we had little presidential cruise pins which were cute. Here is a photo of them.

Today is nice and warm. There was rain a little earlier but the sun is out now and we should be in Puerto Rico by 3:30. Weather should be good for the rest of the day. Definitely a big change from the gloomy weather in Miami!

We are on the cruise next week as well. I can tell you that Terry will be wearing a dark suit, dress shirt and cuff links for the Evening Chic nights. There will be a few tuxes/white dinner jackets, though definitely in the minority.

Do you think someone is sucking up in the Celebrity Today when they referred to LLP as the inspirational lady and said, "Don't miss out on this chance to hear from our visionary leader"? :hearteyes:

 

Could care less. Nothing worse than a snooty leader. Got numerous invites but will only attend the trip to the casino in San Juan.

So we attended the Q&A with Lisa. I know some of you are not a fan of her. Personally I like her. I definitely like her energy as well. She talked about the brand but didn't reveal any new information. She said they are presenting their 5 year strategic plan to the board of directors on Tuesday next week. Once approved we should hear more releases about any future changes.

 

They have hired Andrea as "head of loyalty" and it appears we will see changes to the loyalty program. We don't know what but I got the impression it will be enhanced and she made brief mention to the gap between Elite Plus and Zenith. This should be interesting.

ChicagoPaul, thank you for the "live from". We cruised with you on the Reflection TA last year.

Although I have never met Lisa I also personally like her energy and drive for change.

Your input on the meeting was appreciated. I completed a survey recently that included input on desired changes to the Captain Club benefits. I do not recall all the particular questions.

 

Equinox is the only Solstice Class ship that we have not been on numerous times. The itinerary and timing has never fit our schedule.

 

Wishing you and Edward a continued wonderful cruise.
