He used to have plantar faciatis and hasn't had a problem since he started wearing Rockports.

Ron Don Posted June 12, 2018 #13 Share Posted June 12, 2018 I am a fam of the Columbia "Outdry Extreme". I also had plantar faciatis and have not had a problem since using these "water type shoes". Wonderful support.
Rare orville99 Posted June 12, 2018 #14 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Depends on the beach and what we plan to do there. Teva's are good if you intend to go kayaking; water shoes are good if all you want to do is wade in the water; topsiders are good if you are just walking around the beach area; a good pair of cross-trainers are good if you don't mind pouring the sand out of them before you get back on the ship; and any sandal with decent support works almost anywhere. LOVE my Teva sandals. They're not cheap but I've had mine for years and they're still like new, are super comfy and offer great support and traction. But I also have a pair if Clark's Sandals that I can walk miles in them without issues. dp Edited June 12, 2018 by dpostman

Rare vacationlover_mn Posted June 12, 2018 #23 Share Posted June 12, 2018 My DH loves his Keens. He's only in his mid 40's, but I anticipate he will continue wearing these for a long, long time :) Great for vacations, light hiking, and the cabin :)
Rala Posted June 12, 2018 #24 Share Posted June 12, 2018 If he is not wearing them in the water, Birkenstock sandals are comfortable, cool and have a lot of support. Of course this advice is IMO and YMMV, but both DH and I swear by them. Have a great cruise! :D
Desert Cruizers Posted June 12, 2018 #25 Share Posted June 12, 2018 HavingFun, my husband would rely on my research to find something for him but would go buy it himself once I gave him a few choices, I wouldn't buy his clothes either.:)
