dswallow Posted September 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Well, I do so hope they have more ideas for names; at first read those are really terrible and I cannot see any of them growing on me with time.
MrsPhoenix91 Posted September 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Check out the latest Royal Caribbean News from Cruise Critic: Royal Caribbean Trademarks Three New Cruise Ship Names Wow...I wonder what the "committee" members were smoking when they came up with those names:confused:... MACE Posted September 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2018 (edited) How about Valhalla of the Seas? Where you can have fun, the type of fun you had before you got married and/or had kids. It will have the Specialty Restaurant Odin, a splendid dinning Hall set up like a palace, roofed with shields, where the paxs feast on the flesh of a boar slaughtered daily and made whole again each evening. Live action Jousting Tournaments will be held daily. It will have the first roller coaster @ Sea, Horizontal Elevators, Undersea view ports in the "Nautilus" Theater, Watersides that run the length of the Ship, Sensory Deprivation Tanks, Parasailing from the Stern on Sea Days, and most important, better Beds and the return to all Inclusive Food that is served promptly, hot, and Tasty! Merion_Mom Posted September 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2018 It’s a red herring. They just trademark these names to throw people off the scent and give them something to talk about. Clearly NO SANE PERSON would use those awful names. 😉😄

Red Herring of the Seas, definitely a scent no one would want to associate with any cruise ship, and if I may, Anchovies of the Seas just may be as bad...that being said: Escargot of the Seas may be tolerable
Megtheblackbelt Posted September 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2018 Apparently they have "Sunrise of the Seas" patented, too. This one won't happen (read: shouldn't happen), considering Carnival's new refurbed "Triumph" is being re-named "Sunrise".
AlanF65 Posted September 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 11, 2018 If I were to guess I would think they would trademark a name before they even tested it to see if it works or a focus group likes it.

UKWLDCruise Posted September 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 12, 2018 They need to register Destiny and Melody and then they will have the complete set of Captain Scarlet's Angels. Destiny - Symphony - Melody - Rhapsody - Harmony. After all they also have the name of the organisation in Spectrum coming https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Scarlet_and_the_Mysterons
luvscruising2007 Posted September 12, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 12, 2018 I like Sunrise and Joy. The new names are just not convincing.
schmeed Posted September 12, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 12, 2018 Yeah, those names suck.
molole Posted September 12, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 12, 2018 Phenom, Gallant and Eon for those who didnt open the link. Yeah, they are awful, especially Eon. I am having new ship fatigue. The more they add bells and whistles the more the ships all feel the same. Nothing truly stands out like the Oasis class.

rolloman Posted September 12, 2018 #15 Share Posted September 12, 2018 But remember that there is a Disney Fantasy and a Carnival Fantasy. As well at the Disney Dream and the Carnival Dream....both at one point had the same home port.

Ken at the beach Posted September 12, 2018 #17 Share Posted September 12, 2018 They each have a "Freedom." And Liberty and recently Legend and Splendor. Lots of cruise lines have ships that are named the same as other cruiselines.

Mikew0805 Posted September 13, 2018 #19 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Probably ideas for the Icon class, especially the first two - Phenom & Gallant. The are certainly within the theme of Icon.

timf2001 Posted September 13, 2018 #21 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Eon of the Seas sounds more likely to end up as Celebrity Eon in the Edge class, much like Apex did. Phenom could be Quantum V, but I still prefer Emblem.
