B & W Luggage tags - do they care ?

Why do they have colored luggage tags?

They have the deck and room number.

NCL writes the color on the tag.

I'm all set with my Amazon luggage tag case, no staples for me.

I have done color and B&W and seems that the color tags get there sooner.  I bought the CC luggage tags to support this site.

Colored baggage tags stand out better than Black and White.

Yes....

Colored tags look nicer....and stand out better.

....but do you think they get to the room any faster ?

I don't use our color printer anymore.

They always dry out.

Just got back from cruise #39 and have not printed tags in color in years.  I have seen no difference in how fast luggage gets to the room.

 

Save your color ink and print them in black and white...

Completely irrelevant to the porters, the luggage haulers on the ship, or the time your luggage gets to your cabin.

Only thing I can think of, the colors are "codes".  For some, spotting the color than verifying the print maybe easier.

It is easy to get the luggage tags printed in color at the local office supply store for a few dollars.

We just printed in black and white for last couple of cruises, no problems

The color used to mean something years ago. Now they just print a section. 

 

So B&W is no different.

I understand the colored tags when getting off the ship but not sure it made a difference e getting on

the instructions said preferred color

 

in any case I folded it very neatly

Our TA some how still is able to get the colored luggage tags.

Dunno how, unless it is in a hidden fee or something,we do not know about.

 

We have never printed them.

 

Been with the same TA for 10 years of cruising.

I believe anyone can still get the preprinted luggage tags by paying $35 for paper cruise documents.  Maybe your TA gets a deal or does this as a perk for you.

I just hand the porter the b and w ones and he folds and staples them onto the two suit cases ,

I give him 5 bucks and I find them delivered to my cabin a few hours later .

The crew on the ship probably knows the color coding and it may make it easier and faster

for them to distribute luggage by deck, fore, midship, aft.

Trivia: The color on NCL tags is the color of the ship. Each ship has a different color (not deck or room location). Not sure how you could ever mix bags between ships, but that’s what it’s for.

That's a good idea.  When there are two Royal ships embarking passengers in Tampa, the porters always confirm the ship, apparently because it's not uncommon for the bags to be dropped at the wrong terminal because the terminals are very close to each other.
