Rare h20skibum Posted January 24, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2020 Just look for the worst balcony cabin on the ship. If you wouldn't mind getting that one assigned, then go for it.

Once you actually receive a cabin number you can change to any other available cabin on any deck in the same category. Lately cabins have been assigned later and later to put a stop to people changing cabins. Rule of thumb, you must be happy getting the worst cabin in your category.

Rare RCLcruiser2012 Posted January 24, 2020 #15 Share Posted January 24, 2020 It's a great deal! BUT I'd be concerned of the what if you get stuck below the galley, or loud music, etc.... Like someone else stated you have to be comfortable getting the worst location just in case. But if noise doesn't bother or location then go for it! Grabthars Hammer Posted January 24, 2020 #17 Share Posted January 24, 2020 I saw two categories of guarantees left on Quantum Class: Guaranteed Obstructed Balcony and Guaranteed Balcony. Does the latter mean that you'd either get asked to downgrade to an obstructed balcony with possible credit or if not, will get assigned a balcony that's not obstructed? I did a balcony guarantee on her sister ship Liberty several years ago. Great location on the Forward upper deck - deck 9, I believe - very quiet location. The only slightly negative was it was a connecting room but my neighbors were mostly quiet except for one or two occasions.
BNL1213 Posted January 24, 2020 #19 Share Posted January 24, 2020 I did a balcony guarantee on Freedom this past summer and was very pleased with our location, deck 6 mid ship. It was perfect!

So Deck 7 is fine Possibility of getting a connecting cabin. Bingo In my opinion
bizeemom4 Posted January 26, 2020 #24 Share Posted January 26, 2020 (edited) I took a chance last week and booked a guaranteed balcony on a last minute cruise next month on the Vision. We received our cabin assignment - deck 7, mid-ship, not connecting. It looks like we are under the shops. I think it's a 1B. So I am super happy with that! I have booked a guarantee on Carnival's Magic and received a cove balcony that smelled so strongly of sewage that I couldn't sit outside. To me, that's the worst that could happen.
