Don't think so. Trump's decision absolutely wont do anything to prevent the spread. And no this is not a political point . I voted for Trump and will so this year. But what prevents folks from going to UK and coming to US?

 

and why is UK is out of the picture? What about the cruises? Just a knee jerk decision by a president whose said its just a flu that would go away just 48 hours before.

Because the UK has few cases of Corona.  Anyone trying to board in the UK, with a passport from a country on the list,  will not be allowed to board.

UK has more infections than Norway, Belgium and some other EU countries.

When things get better i hope they stop charging double for Casino players .I used togetgood cabins at half the rate and i would spenda lot at the casino.....morethan that difference for sure .....yes I know bad girl

i amplatinum plus on NCL always treated great and usedto cruise 3-5 times per year ...eachone being a longer cruise .....Now since the rule changed .....double rate per cabin i was last on NCL  last  october and not been back since ..so no more 5-6 cruises per year .Tell me whose loss isit ??i refuse topay double and play as much ...

go back to treating Casino players with good prices .....single occupancy rate ...your ships will fill up ...not to mention other $$$ .i spent on board 

treat us right we will be backonce this craziness calms down .Someone will need to research vaccines for this virus and get us healthy again real quick .I hope gov.t are spendingin the right direction ....invest insolutions 

i am confident noonewill go bankrupt ...strapped for cash for sure but hopefull by end of summer normal again 

i like NCL love cruising ...hope you bounce back ...and dont be greedy when you fo .Be nice to us loyal customers ...treat usright ..we will be back

If NCL did chapter 11, it would kill their customer base, just imagine all the cruise next vouchers, peoples cancellations credit, and let’s not forget the existing shareholders who have treated NCL like their own. Latitudes would be forgotten, with bankruptcy you have no preferences, you can’t just keep the good bits...

That appears to be very out of date, it says the US is 1016 but it now stands at 1312.

Norway is higher than UK but you are correct there are a couple of EU countries that are lower, I guess our island status and even perhaps Breixt.

Like your ideas, but I hate to say it. they are not even close to reality. We cut NIH funding all the time. the vaccine will be a while before it hits the market. this is why we need to spend more money on the NIH. it is always strapped for cash. for every one dollar invested into the NIH, it produces 6. but politicians will never support it when they can't even agree that global climate change is real and affects the health of humans.

 

ncl is cheap af. doing right by customers isn't always a priority for them. this is coming from someone who likes the ncl product the most out of all the companies. but i gotta call it like i see it.

I don't think cruise next vouchers would be affected as they don't have real cash value and encourage future cruising. 

 

As for Latitudes, There would be no reason to cut the program and run off their loyal customer base.

 

Now the shareholders would definatly be affected as they would get wiped out.

i am hoping that the cruise next vouchers will be honored if they restructure and remain ncl.  it would be important to retain loyal customers.

 

@roger001 has talked about share holders getting wiped out before during restructuring, which is par for the course per him and his fam.

Yes they will have no choice but to shed their debt via chapter 11.  Likely they will wait to get debt at its max before filing.  They are a good candidate for what is called a “pre-packaged” bankruptcy meaning they file their restructuring plan at the get go and are out of bankruptcy in 90 days.

I do feel kind of bad for the NCL brass. They were flying high just a month ago and now everything has turned on it's head. The stock price has fallen ~80% in one month and their source of revenue is going to locked indoors, with none of it their doing.

Well...the market is open and the expected initial plunge is happening.   NCL is down $3 at $12 and poor RCL is down $10.50 at $33.  Serious decision time for some cruise lines.
