Glad I Kano longer drive a diesel car, but increases in fuel will push up prices of anything transported by road and the running of those cruise ships with Diesel engines,.

Inflation will be into double figures within weeks.  

Without being alarmist,  all of those of us who thought we had a nice pension pot to see us through our declining years are going to have a rude awakening.

Us old uns will have lived through the seventies (24% in 1975), when inflation was rife - I never  thought I would see it again.

Morning all.  It’s a lovely bright morning and I heard the dawn chorus (well, one enthusiastic blackbird) for the first time this year.  That must be a good sign.

Meeting my sister & b-i-l for lunch.  Driving to the venue will probably cost more than the meal!

Morning everyone.

How are you all? Those that are poorly/under the weather hope you feel better soon.

Have had a busy few days, with an interview yesterday 🤞 meeting up with friends for coffees and trying to organise what best to do for our flight at the end of April as we only know the time of our flight, not how long we are supposed to be there beforehand for testing, etc.

Nice bright sunny morning here also not windy for a nice change and according to the forecast we are due to get into double figures.

Been up to Truro Station and back, as no trains running this far down, as she is off to London for her daughter's graduation.

Just the same old, same old planned for today.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day, take care and stay safe.

Funny start to the day, I found a hat full of money then got chased by a man with a guitar.

We gave our gardener yesterday a tin of quality street and a few goodies from the UK.He came back later with fresh eggs,home pressed olive oil, lemons,navel oranges which IMO are the best anywhere and sopressata which is unique to this part of the world,a pigs head boiled for hours and minced up and cured in a skin.Tough as old boots but OK in small bits in an antipasti.My Mrs wont touch it with a bargepole,lol.

Good for you Phil. Daily excersise is very important, and it's good to alternate between your normal walking regimen to running. 😁

Sun’s out here, nice walk with this dog first thing before the shopping arrived, nothing missing, no subs!! Ordered heating oil last Thursday, red light blinking away, still no sign of it, dreading the bill when it gets here, but can’t do without 😞 

Good new, eldest son had an interview last week at a Penzance printers & yesterday got the job, so it’s back to print for him & he can car share with his dad who also works near by. He has also been offered an apprenticeship else where but he would have had to move to Bristol, so he’s very happy, less money but I think he wouldn’t have coped too well in a busy place. Ordered cinnamon buns from Morrisons to celebrate, just gone down well with coffee. Yum.

Hi LL,we bought offplan in 2006 and completed in 2007.We were the lucky ones because a lot of the properties didn't exist due to a collusion of UK Spain based agent,lawyers and mafia builders.A lot of Brits and Irish lost thousands.Perhaps our mafia were nicer than the others.There are quite a few Brits here but we are the only ones who stay long term after driving over in 2013 after retiring.We have friends locally and from UK.The locals are lovely and bring us all sorts of things like newlaid eggs,olive oil,cakes etc.We have even been invited for lunch to neighbours 2nd homes in the mountains where 20 people sit at a long table eating and drinking everything homegrown,reared and made.We still bring over home comforts like bacon,curry pastes etc.We have the best of both worlds socialising with locals and Brits,cheers,Brian.

We ordered oil on Monday and it won’t be delivered for 4-5 weeks. We always order when the tank is half empty as we often have to wait a few weeks. Only the smallest tankers can come up our lane hence the wait.

.For mass catering the food was excellent, and there were loads of activities, archery, rifles, etc etc.. loads of therm.  We loved the entertainment in the theatre.  It was great.  Lots of laughing both at and about the audience.  A bit non pc but no-one took offence and we laughed out loud.  The dancing troupe were excellent and at least on apar with cruising troupes.  

 

 

My friend went last year, really enjoyed it.

Afternoon all, I can report cruise news! I’ve just had notification of my cabin finally for my mini cruise at Easter! 
I’ve been upgraded as I went for one of the obstructed balconies and I’ve got a ‘normal’ one! Just hope we get on the ship!

This was the lovely surprise that I had waiting for me when I got home from the food bank.  The message in the card says that my god-daughter wanted me to enjoy my present before I went on holiday, I will very celebrating on Sky Princess.

@Ardennais we have the baby tanker, it normally only takes a couple of days, they’re based just up the road. Hopefully it’ll be here by tomorrow or I might give them a quick call in case I’ve been forgotten. 🙄 @purpleseagood luck with the job 🤞
