My DH was at a cricket lunch fundraiser yesterday where all 3 Chappell brothers were in attendance and they were paying tribute to Rod Marsh. (For our US friends, Shane Warne was an extremely talented Australian cricket player, leg spin bowler and larger than life character off field with 3 young adult children. Shocking news for us and devastating for his kids) 52 is too young. Terribly sad for his family and for his fans who felt a connection. Famous people don’t know us, but we know them and mourn their loss.

Fun fact: The annual maintenance on a Buggati Chiron, if done according to the owners manual, is $500,000 per year. (My source was a YouTube channel that had one video showcasing the Buggati Chiron.) Keep an eye out for Wayne Carini, host of the TV show Chasing Classic Cars. ps: I used to work in the plant that printed Trip Tiks. Occasionally had to run the press that printed Trip Tiks. I didn't care for that press...much preferred to work on the regular printing presses. Edited March 4, 2022 by Paul from Maryland

I both agree and disagree with this. I fly first class, but I cruise in interiors mostly. The comfort of first class means that my knee isn't completely locked up when I arrive for the cruise. But when I'm on the cruise, I only use the stateroom to sleep, shower, and change clothes. I use the ship itself as my balcony and space to move around.

On our long cruise in 2019, Dick didn’t want to walk to it again, so he used my Woolite packets and washed his undies in the bathtub. I should have taken pictures of him on the floor bending over the side of the tub like an old time washerwoman. I keep in my carryon a clothesline that’s supposed to be for camping, but I bought it for cruising (bathing suits, tropical downpours). He strung it across the cabin and hung his underwear on it. They dried overnight, but we looked like tenement dwellers. I take some strong, small magnetic hooks for drying things in the room. After washing things in the sink, I let them drip in the shower. Then I roll them in towels and walk on them to soak up as much water as possible without wringing/twisting the fabric. The last step is to put stuff on a hanger (or hang it from the clips on a pants/skirt hanger) and hang it from the ceiling with one of the hooks before I head out to dinner. The next morning, everything is dry and wrinkle-free. 2

Rare ReneeFLL Posted March 4, 2022 #50557 Share Posted March 4, 2022 The Wonder is packed. Mike read there are 5734 passengers. We should hear the actual count tomorrow. The WJ was unbelievable. I have never seen so much food. There was so much more that i didn't get pictures of. Lots of lobster and seafood along with everything else. The pictures I took only represent some of the food. It was never-ending. Rotating ice sculpture. The shrimp were huge. They don't look like it in the picture. Some of the deserts. More deserts. They had Yorkshire pudding. Maybe they will have it another day since I wanted some.

Where do you store it? My books are in bins under the beds, Dick built a loft in our one car garage, for my card table, folding chairs, Christmas decorations, etc. Shelves in our garage hold all the small kitchen appliances we don’t use every day. Luckily, one bedroom has a strange closet that has storage space. We participated in 5 garage sales, donated clothes, linens and kitchen stuff to shelters, sold furniture, and otherwise shed everything we could. The whole point of moving was to downsize to make life easier for us and for our kids when they have to come get rid of everything! Lenny, you must be a wizard at storing stuff!
BonTexasNY Posted March 5, 2022 #50561 Share Posted March 5, 2022 (edited) @ReneeFLL OMG I am salivating just from the shrimp and lobster pictures. Have a great cruise! @Jimbo Have a super, happy birthday. @DaniDanielle Marietta, I surer hope things get better for Charlie. @lenquixote66 Lenny,, gosh when was the last time you looked at any of that stuff you have in those crates? I need to rant a bit. We booked tickets on American Airlines to see the kids in NJ in June. When I received the email confirmation, I noticed my name was spelled incorrectly. I called back and had to wait 2 hours for a call back. Luckily, I gave my # and waited for their call. SO, I finally was connected, told them my name had to be corrected. I speak very clearly. I waited to get the corrected confirmation with the agent on the phone. WRONG again. Last letter of my name was missing. Agent said it was because my name was too long for the computer which I can understand but it was my first name that had the missing letter, not my last. She insisted the system had my whole correct name. Did I believe her? No way. I waited until this morning to confirm, waiting another 2 hours for a call back. Yes, it was correct. I was told that my name MUST match my ID. We're set! Edited March 5, 2022 by BonTexasNY

I was handed it on my way out of the office so hadn’t looked at it. Ii glanced at it in the check in line. My first name on the ticket was Mimi…my passport, drivers license, checking account, everything legal, is Mary-Elizabeth. I tried to look bored when I handed over the ticket and passport. My luggage got tagged, boarding pass stuck into the folder with my ticket and off I went. Nobody in either direction noticed any discrepancy.

They also tell me that the way I say my first name is incorrect. As far as when was the last time I looked at my collectibles, prior to my disabilities I looked quite often. I wish my mom had done that. Instead she filled every corner and closet of a 4-bedroom 3-bath +finished basement house with stuff. And mostly all by herself! We are still wondering how she got the pink jacuzzi tub into the subbasement. It is taking a very long time. We might be able to find someone to do an estate sale, but there is not enough traffic for garage sales. Edited March 5, 2022 by Coralc
Rare Lionesss Posted March 5, 2022 #50568 Share Posted March 5, 2022 I remember when I retired early so many people told me, I would get bored. Nada Wrong How would you know So today I worked our church fish dinner. After prep and set up I was on my feet for 6 hours, and I feel it in my back. This week was carry-out only, starting next week and every Friday after that for 5 weeks will be carry-out as well as dine in. Today I was giving the honor of working the hot line and dishing out the pierroghis (sp) and potatoes. My instructions were carved in stone. 3 pieroghis per container, 5 small potatoes But if you have to wait on pieroghis, give 8 potatoes and move them along. But wait if you run out of potatoes, give them 4 pieroghis. Now wait, were running low on pierroghis, only give 2 and smile. Oh, you have left over pierroghis, sell them for 8 dollars a dozen. I used to like peirroghis So next week I am working the carry-out room. I wonder what my assignment will be? I mastered Pierroghis, maybe I'll move up to cole slaw. Anyway I have one goal to be acomplished by next week. Learn how to spell pierogghis.......... Take care.

One of the things we love about suites are the extra perks the suite lounge, suite restaurants, priority getting on the ship , being escorted off the ship by concierge, private swimming pools etc . Having a separate living room and bedroom, in some cases having two bathrooms. Reserved seats for shows etc , can you have a great cruise without these things of course , but we kind of like these perks and gotten used to them.
