I read the biographies of the people and make a list of the ones I might want to root for and after the first episode I narrow it down. I have Omar on my list because he is a Veterinarian and when I entered college that was my aspiration but that changed during my first year.I have Mike ,the retired Fireman from NJ because I have friends and relatives who are retired from various Fire Departments.

What looked like a nasty storm was blowing through. Turned out that it was just a bit of strong wind and rain that went through quickly, but they don't mess around with weather during golf tournaments. Too many bad incidents in the past. We had a good day up to that point though. It's an absolutely gorgeous and treacherous course at the same time. I've played the Stadium Course 3 times and it's probably the most difficult course that I've ever played (just ahead of the Ocean Course at Kiawah). Practice rounds are very casual. Pros typically hit a tee shot and an approach shot to the green, but then spend several minutes chipping and putting to/from various places around the green. Many greens will have a location where players will typically end up after their second shot, and they will practice putting/chipping from there to where they know the flag will be located on the 4 different days of play. I didn't take a lot of pictures but captured a few. Sorry for the haziness. I think I had some suntan lotion on my phone's camera lens. Scottie Scheffler (won last week at Arnie's tournament), Cameron Young, Webb Simpson, and Bubba Watson waiting to tee off at the par 3 third hole. Justin Thomas practicing putts on the famous 17th island green. Colin Morikawa practicing chips from a pot bunker next to the 18th green. Colin signing autographs after finishing his practice round. Nelly and Jessica Korda watching. They are sisters and are both professional golfers. Nelly is currently the #1 female golfer in the world and won the gold medal at the 2020 summer Olympics in Japan. Their mother and father were both professional tennis players (dad Petr won the 1998 Australian Open) and their younger brother is also a professional tennis player. There are some serious athletic genes in that pool! Pan of the driving range, Bubba hit a tee shot on a par 3, and Colin practicing long putts on 18. golf.mp4 43.58 MB · 0 downloads Still can't figure out why during regular tournaments the golfers can't wear shorts........so silly.

Agreed. I'm sure that it's somehow related to making them look professional. Golf has been trying hard though to be more inclusive and recruit future golfers when they're younger. Easing up a little on the dress code would probably help.

As far as entertainment, we saw a group called NYC3...three young men who are so energetic, with fantastic voices, and who's choreography reminded me of groups like the Four Tops, etc. Another group called "Our Lady Valentine", a group of four young men from London, were also terrific. The Celebrity entertainers were phenomenal!! I never heard of NYC3 and looked them up on line.Besides being on the Celebrity they will be appearing in Toms River on June 3. Sounds as though you had a great cruise😀

Jim and I disembarked on Monday morning, to the easiest embarkation ever! Face recognition is wonderful! We arrived at the ship at our appointed time (12:30) and were delighted to see there were no long lines. We proceeded to an agent who took our picture, and pictures of our passport and vaccination cards. We were then told to just get onto the ship!! I had the Celebrity app on my phone, and while on the bus to the ship, I completed our mandatory life board drill. Easy peasy, even for someone who is not very savvy (as you all pretty much know by now). This was our third time on the Silhouette; it's always been a pleasure to be on board, but this time was super special, since our last cruise was in November, 2019. Mask wearing was optional, except for in the Casino and Theater, where they asked that it be worn there. The four of us, Jim and our two traveling buddies, wore our mask in the Theater. Some guests had them on also, but not too many. By day two, hardly anyone had one on. I must say, we also stopped wearing them. The entire crew had to wear their masks, many of them wearing two. The Captain said that on the two cruises prior to ours, there was not one person with Covid. Not one crew member or guests. Great news!! About halfway through our cruise, the Captain announced that one guest had come down with Covid. Enough said on that subject. The entire crew, the entertainment, the Celebrity singers, dancers, band, and featured entertainers, were awesome!!! Maryann, I am so glad to read that you and Jim had an awesome cruise. You've been missed in here and I'm glad you're back, that is until your next cruise!
reallyitsmema Posted March 10, 2022 #51138 Share Posted March 10, 2022 Just an FYI, it was announced last week that people were going to be able to order a second set of covid tests sometime this week through the government free covid test program. I heard on Tuesday that you could order them and immediately ordered them for my house and for my Mom. We both received emails overnight that the tests would be delivered by Monday. Mine were just delivered. Much better than the first set that took more than a month. 4
OnTheJourney Posted March 10, 2022 #51139 Share Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but since this is sort of a 'catch-all' thread, I'll throw it in....the Endurance expedition found Shackleton's ship!! Fascinating! https://endurance22.org It is described as being amazingly intact. Sank (crushed by the pack ice) in 1915. Of special interest, of course, to anyone who has been down there. We did a "drive-by" in '17. Loved it! Edited March 10, 2022 by AnyWayIsGood 6

We have a larger crate in the living room for when we leave the house and not to confuse them with their nighttime crate in the master bedroom. I want them to feel like they can be with us and snuggle without always being in the crate. Got to find the right balance. Part of it is that we need to do better is finding a way for them to be better at letting us know when they need to go. The bell strap on the door isn’t working as well as we would like. Thank you Graham. I hope all is well with you and Pauline. How are the gas prices in the Uk now? I always wondered about that. Heat always seems to feel better. In therapy we always start out with heat then cold at the end. I will take your advice as I respect you immensely. Heat in the morning, cold after I exercise then maybe some more heat at night before bedtime. Last night I started to go into a panic attack as I wasn’t in pain so much but my leg had that restless leg feeling. No matter what position I laid in I could not get comfortable. I started to panic. Finally took a Tramadol to knock me out. I may stop the Tramadol and switch to Benadryl at night to help me sleep. Doctor says this is not uncommon. Linda said it took 4 years to potty train my son, so I should put it in perspective. 😝 True on my tolerance. Trying to not be so grumpy. Glad you were safe and had a great time. I’m always at awe seeing the pros play. Tom Watson is our local pro who I’ve spent a long time covering. He used to have a charity golf tournament every year to benefit a local children’s hospital. Every year I would get to interview and shoot video of pros like, Jack Nicholas, Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Gary Player and many others. It was amazing to see how long and far and accurate they drive. I once videotaped Lee Trevino who’s ball was behind a tree and about 100 yards from a uphill green hit and hooked the ball and landed it 3 feet from the hole . Amazing! Thank you Greg. Petrol going up daily. Currently around $9 gallon.

I loved the knickers. Originally from Springfield, MO he would often stop in Kansas City for events. I’ve interviewed him many times and always found him to be one of the nicest and most pleasant people I’ve ever met.
