Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

No, plenty of availability of D4 on deck 14, on all sailings, just no on those aft cabins you're interested in.......

Okay got word back from my travel agent, she said  Royal said the cruise line is still making updates and it's possible that these cabins are in the aft location are being recategorized.

Means someone at Royal Caribbean setting prices didn't make these cabins more  $$$ before the deck plans were sent out. You have to believe these aft cabins are going to cost more then the side D4's on deck 14.

Today was our 35th anniversary, nothing big planned, we keep talking about going back to Hawaii where we went for a honeymoon but life keeps getting in the way, maybe for 40??  Anyway, will do a long weekend somewhere soon, but for today went to a nice bistro for drinks and small plates. Thought of a few of you with the menus and bar stock.  I am not as good with pics as many of you but tried.  We have been here before shortly after they opened, but there really wasn't a lot there, so not been back.  Heard it was better so tried again, they have upped their game.    https://bar19twelve.com/

No food pics but some drinks, didn't take any of Jim's 1912 Old Fashioned sorry.

My 1st Ginger Lemon Drop, they dropped the lemon into the dome filled with smoke, more to come later, wasn't quick enough this time

Got this one after, tried for video, got a picture, after the lemon was dropped

And for the Bourbon lovers,  a look at the racks behind the bar.  The regulars supposedly enjoy the Louis X......

Nice evening but not a regular night for us.  Will go back again for a calmer evening at some point.

Just got back from my doctors office who took new X-rays on my left shoulder. He confirmed what the ER doc said. Separated shoulder (joint type 3 injury) and hairline fracture of the tip of the clavicle. He said it will heal on it's on, no surgery and that I don't need to wear the sling unless I want to for comfort.

The cause, it wasn't not taking my blood pressure meds though he reminded me to always take my meds. But was caused by Micturition syncope which is most common in older men and usually when getting up at night from a deep sleep. The exact cause of micturition syncope isn't fully understood. But it may be related to a fall in blood pressure when you get up suddenly and stand at the toilet. My doc said the fact that I was dehydrated didn't help matters. He also said I had virtually nothing as far as blood/alcohol content so the two cocktails did not cause anything.

Bottom line, I'm getting older and things like this can happen. He said being careful won't guarantee it won't happen again. Main thing is if I start to fell lightheaded sit immediately on the floor.

Glad to hear no surgery will be needed.  Now take it easy for a while!

Happy Anniversary!  Smortini is one I haven’t heard of.  @John&LaLa might want to add this to any future drink lists 😁

I think everyone has been “looking” at Icon, but how many will book. It has a few new things I would not mind experiencing, but then I think……

Max capacity 1,000 more than Oasis Class, and not much bigger.  I already think Oasis class is too crowded when it sails full.

Maybe I will book it during the next pandemic when it sails 1/4 full.  Until then, the older ships will be good enough for me.

All very good points, except I’ll pass on the last paragraph. 😁

Or sit on the toilet?

Good to hear no surgery is needed.   Hopefully the pain is subsiding.

We decided to get our 5th (3rd booster) covid shot today.  We've been drinking lots of water hoping to lessen the arm pain we both had with previous shots.

@LuckynanaMaryann, glad Jim is on the mend.

@Sunshine3601Debbie, how are you feeling?

@Sea DogGreg, sounds like you received a favorable doctor report.  Jack always sits on the side of the bed a few moments before getting up.  Helps lessen any dizziness he might have.

One suggestion I was given while getting vaccines is to frequently move your arm around.  It seemed to help me

I booked Chris and Donna's cruise today.   So exciting we will all be cruising together again.

Last cruise we got them an OV but I'm sure they will love having a balcony this time.

I booked thru club royale and was able to get them a large balcony for less than online standard balcony with our casino discount.   I wasn't sure they would do this since the cabin is in their name, not ours, but it worked😃

So, I looked at a sailing, 2-3-2024, and all the suites were sold out.

I don’t like ships with 7000 pax and 1 FlowRider so I doubt I book, but it appears people are booking.  I remember back when Radiance class ships were a big deal for the initial season, and then Freedom Class was a super giant deal.

I won’t be rushing to book, but I remember in this forum when a NOOTS was a popular saying here.  Never on Oasis of The Seas.  I know personally, NOOTS fans that have sailed and loved Oasis class ships.

Seriously Jim, why would I lie about deck plans for Icon being on the Royal Caribbean website?  Of course they are there.

Because he is Jimbo???  Always the contrarian except when he shouldn’t be.  🤣

Never said she lied, I asked for a link to the deck plan and all I got  from her was look on the Royal Caribbean site. The Icon info tab wasn't working very fast on Royal's site, assumed a lot of people were clicking on..........I did find deck plans on the Royal site in a different place on their site but they didn't have Icon's

Don’t remember, but bet Jimbo, as many of my other CC friends were at the time, was a NOOTS.

Correct never sailed on that ship, wasn't because of the ship's size. I guess just never saw an itinerary on it that interested us at the time.......Could also have been it's home port  wasn't a good fit at the time when booking a cruise. Just saw better options for us on other ships.

Flow Rider wasn't a concern of ours, if they had it or not, one or 2 or 3 of them. 😉

My Wife and I tested that theory, My Wife moved her arm around a lot and had no issues. I pretty much did normal activity, nothing extra and my arm was sore for about 3 days. So I do believe moving it around helps greatly.
