This was Minnie the day we brought her home.

Minnie is so pretty.  That is sad about Tenzing but she had 3 months in a loving home.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments about hip replacements.  The specialist he was referred to deals only with hip problems and the procedure will be done at the orthopedic surgery center. Barring any complications, he’ll be up and walking before he goes home the day of surgery. The doctor feels that as a healthy, active, 60 year “young”patient, Andy should be fully recovered in 6 weeks, possibly less.
So to answer your question @Sea Dog Greg, this shouldn’t interfere with Bella 2.0.  I’ll get him there one way or another!

That's a good question. I really like most all of them but if I had to pick a couple it would "Florida" with it's big chorus. Also "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me" is great too. I had not really listened to her before she and KC player Travis Kelce started dating and I was curious about her. My son went to her Eras concert here and said it was incredible. Linda and I watched her Eras Concert movie and I was very impressed. Her songwriting skills are impressive as well as her performance. It helps also as I think she is incredibly beautiful.

I wonder if it is better to be part of The Tortured Poets Department or The Dead Poets Society?😄

You seem to be a bit of a risk-taker, Mark!  Any misfortunes after visiting Otto's Robert the Doll?  I sure hope not!  When we were in New Orleans years ago, one of our daughters asked us to pick up a "mojo bag" for her, which we did!

No misfortunes, but we had to make sure we did some of the things to avoid bad mojo.

I am a "dog person," but this cat is absolutely strikingly beautiful. Did you choose her from a litter?

Decided to go for a hike after church today, so we drove to McConnell’s Mill State Park.  With an 80° day, it appeared many had the same idea.

There were several kayaks in the water.

They had to pull out above the Mill dam and walk to the lower part of the creek.  A good place for a lunch break.

The creek can get some fast moving white water, and the trail has several life preservers to toss to anyone who gets in trouble.

We saw a few get turned around, and they ended up going through the rapids backwards or sideways.  These guys didn’t do too bad.

If anyone has watched “The Pale Blue Eye” on Netflix, with Christian Bale, Harry Melling, Gillian Anderson, and Robert Duval, you may recognize this covered Bridge and Mill that were used for some location scenes.

Of course, the bridge signs were not present in the movie.

So, how was the trail today?   Either we are getting a little older, or it got a little harder. We did about a five mile loop on the trails.  This is part of the North Country Trail.

‘This part is easy

IMG_1045.thumb.jpeg.36b274a9d2068870e1cbf930abcce2a1.jpeg

There is a trail in there somewhere.

IMG_1048.thumb.jpeg.b7054f9828e2e81fc5f38626afe56acf.jpeg

Lots of nice water views

IMG_1046.thumb.jpeg.4ffb00c7b8ba149279a00d5b8c2c6715.jpeg

With some small waterfalls.

IMG_1041.thumb.jpeg.42d96d214cda6b59578c89f3270e7a4e.jpeg

I am glad they cleared some of the downed trees.

IMG_1049.thumb.jpeg.7f24684fb4395ad1854596f30be37875.jpeg

That isn’t too steep.  It is almost like a staircase

IMG_1050.thumb.jpeg.c22f82c5bc2f4587e60d7d55d7d1e3ff.jpeg

And speaking of cats, that looks like an old cat on the trail. 😂

IMG_3094.thumb.jpeg.5b13b7d1d594d07af318c93ac1322ab7.jpeg

And, a much slower cat. 😂

IMG_1051.thumb.jpeg.5229dd8d3a3dc6b2e81e79cdd0ec7b1a.jpeg

So if anyone wants to give their knees or hips a workout, this is the place.

Afterwords, this was perfect.

Can they be replaced? Or too risky?

I think once you get new lens for your eyes they are considered permanent. Ocean boy would know more than me but they couldnt replace my dads later when better lens came out.

Finally back on wifi. Been down since middle of the night. Must have been a really bad storm. Street signs and trees on the ground, but without seeing tv I have no idea what went thru. Finally back up. Missed my wifi and tv. Watching the news and seeing houses flooded. I wasnt even aware a big storm coming thru. Finally ... I hate having no tv and white noise.

Me trying to clean out & organize the dining room hutch. I got as far as taking everything out when Lenoard claimed it as his new cubby hole.

A few house pics from today.  Paint is done (minus the inevitable touch-ups).  Doors, trim, and cabinets scheduled over the next couple weeks, then flooring and carpets.  We probably aren’t going to hit our June 1st goal, but it’s getting closer and closer.

Not sure I mentioned, in the last pic you can see a column and the base on the floor to the right.  There was a column on each side of the living room that supported an arch that separated the living room from the entryway.  We always hated that because the columns took away from space that we would have used to put furniture, things on walls, etc.  So we had the reconstruction folks take it out.  Post-fire pic of the arch:
