I was under the assumption that you were retired .

I will be 67 next month and been a UK pensioner for 11 months  but I still do a little work as a sales agent on a self employed basis seeing a few of my best customers some I have known for 40 years.

I opened over 500 accounts over 15 years when I was territory manager but been part retired for 7 years.

Good evening.

I have had a busy day doing several sales calls and driving 125 miles in the process.

I finished at 15.00pm  and had a steak bake and coffee overlooking the North Sea.

I hope you sold lots of candy! That seems like it would be a fun job.

If available,  watch Broadchurch. It's a detective show, also in a small town with lots of twists & turns.

I’ve only watched the first series. I saw that part of the cliff that features in the background of many scenes, collapsed onto the beach recently.

Need to watch the 2nd & 3rd series.  Too many shows not enough time.

What is the ingredients inside the pastry?  I’ve not heard of a steak bake before.

Used to love a Cornish pastry when we visited family in England as a child.

DH puts the subtitles on for shows with heavy accents

I use subtitles for every show .

I do subtitles all the time. Not only because of accents because sometimes the dialogue is so soft and the background music is too loud. It also doesn’t help that I’m hard of hearing from being a drummer my whole life.

I needed hearing aids about 5 or so years ago and have trouble hearing some words . Made a big mistake going to a gun range and should have had better protection for my ears , my wife complained I was deaf even before that .

Last night was the second to last of the hockey tryout games. One more tonight at 8, hours from home.

Football season begins today. It probably won't be a strong season, but it is what it is. Owen is game day dressed.

Headed to Cincinnati again for another wedding...this time a friend's daughter.  While there, we'll meet with an electrician at the 130-year-old Victorian style house that my older daughter is buying.  She closes on Monday.  The house still has a lot of knob and tube wiring which I want to have replaced before she moves in.  The electrician is a specialist with old houses and is supposedly able to minimize damage to plaster walls and molding, and repair whatever damage is needed so that it's not visible.  Should be an interesting process.

Been a wild and crazy time since I was able to post live on our Alaskan cruise.

Where to begin.

Well,  I am so far behind on the threads I follow, yes I visited them randomly, and posted a little but I must apologize because I know so little of what is happening in our friendly circle.

But moving forward, I will just say when you have a major health scare and after many tests —almost all  the results are normal.  Well.  After you thank God for answering your prayers, you savor every moment. Dealing currently with some non life threatening issues as well as  be the best you can be in helping others.

Life goes on and I am truly appreciative that I am a part of it. In addition to my already hectic life I will be baking for 2 upcoming weddings.
But, I was honored to be selected to be on out parish church council and was nominated and unanimously elected to role of recording secretary. I was humbled, the job is usually delegated to a returning member.

Ok,  enough for now.
Gotta go type up those minutes from our first meeting.

Thanks for listening.

Happy and thankful for each moment

Sue

Congratulations to being elected to the parish council & that you are able to move forward in a positive way from your major health scare.

It is so hard to find anyone who is good with plaster.  We were able to find someone who was excellent at matching the plaster designs on the walls.  I understand that the designs are almost like a signature, and many can tell who did the work, by looking at the design.

I was just going to say that I had not seen a post from you lately.  Glad your tests all came back normal.

I thought maybe you had gone off the grid in that new motor home.

I love accents. Love trying to figure out where people are from based on how they speak. Funny to me how so many Americans mistake Aussie accents for English accents and vice versa. I can differentiate the two quite easily but many apparently cannot! Also interesting how many accents UK has for its size as opposed to Australia which is close in size geographically to the US.
