HBE4 Posted April 22, 2020 #51 Share Posted April 22, 2020 (edited) Sadly, I'll be canceling my Vegas trip for late May. Already received notices that 2 shows I booked in Vegas have been cancelled. Pretty sure I don't want to be wearing a mask all day, especially when sitting by the pool. Side note: TicketMaster refunded my money for both shows in less than 24 hours, despite the email saying it could take up to 30 days. Given the number of concerts, plays, sporting events, festivals, etc that are cancelled on daily basis, Ticketmaster must be processing millions of refunds. Royal could learn a lesson or two. 😉 Edited April 22, 2020 by HBE4 2
John Reid Posted April 22, 2020 #52 Share Posted April 22, 2020 When you get to the reports that say "Las Vegas came up with a highly-effective, fool-proof, proven plan," this is all empty conjecture.

With the guidelines/rules/limitations for Vegas I can only wonder what ships will be like. This is what they do with guests who come on with COVID symptoms... makes me wonder what they do with guests on a ship. Leave them on a port of call or let them stay on quarantine. Better make sure you have travel and health insurance going forward. Well, there will be many many changes to coverages going forward. I’m a 🇨🇦 Insurance Broker. We already have Covid19 questionnaires for most new policy applications. It could be a whole new world for Out of Country coverage when travel resumes. But then I wonder what people in NY who live in high rises with a huge Virus issue going on are doing. Walking ups 86 floors wouldn't happen!! One at a time? Hardly. I don't think the NYC people have a long enough fuse to deal with that. Maybe somebody knows but I'm curious as to what's happening there. ( see what happens to our brains on boredom!) Would having a mask in an elevator be enough protection. I think so but I'm sure there's a judgement already made by the CDC about it. I just don't know what it is.

The rest are just necessary to reposition the fleet. Leaves from Copenhagen or Amsterdam with stops in Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, and Nova Scotia I think. Very lucrative.. It’s the only route worth going on imo. Did it once on the brilliance to Faroe Islands and iceland. Was gonna do the one this sept, with Norway, Iceland and Greenland, but the chance of that happening is pretty much zero. 😞 shocked they don’t do more of the northern as they make so much money, but I guess they need most of the ships to end up in FL. pcur Posted April 22, 2020 #57 Share Posted April 22, 2020 (edited) I've attached what Princess emailed me today. I called them and asked about "chronic health conditions", and she mentioned what the CDC has on their web site. I asked if I had a video visit with my doctor, who is required to put a visit summary in their system, and I had the doctor put in specific wording regarding "all current health conditions are stable and controlled through medication", would bringing a copy of the visit summary be a good idea? She said it was an excellent idea. So, I'm just going to do that from now on for both Mr. Pcur and I. The visit is free, and the document will be within 3-5 days of sailing. What they are most interested in is passengers with COPD, asthma, lung conditions, or conditions that affect the immune system. Mr. Pcur and I have none of those, but why not take the doctor's recent assessment, anyway? When the count gets past the "new maximum" the elevator won't close the doors until someone gets off. I would love to be on another elevator and have that ***** that shoved her way past me dragging her husband behind her, and SHE'S the one that has to get off. He can stay: he needs friends being married to her.

Then he said we're not leaving until 4 people move back. Still no takers. It took over 5 minutes for 4 people to move. Where would the casinos be able to procure enough masks to supply their employees and customers?

It also covers our employees, just not to the same levels. I can only imagine what cancellation will look like due to COVID. From now on I will be booking all flights fully refundable. I already have a bank with Delta and Air Canada, which might be a challenge to use in the next year or so. 2 hours ago, pcur said: I've attached what Princess emailed me today. I got the email from Princess yesterday as well. Very thorough and interesting. Putting it into action might be another thing, but I was pleasantly surprised at their proactiveness. We have to wear a mask here in MD now when we go into stores. Even for short in and out shopping trips and it being cool here with all the breathing under the mask it gets muggy and hot quickly. I can't imagine that being fun on vacation.
ATC cruiser Posted April 23, 2020 #68 Share Posted April 23, 2020 Since this thread was originally about Vegas you need to look for the interview that Anderson Cooper had with the mayor of Las Vegas. She’s listed as an independent, I guess neither party wanted her. She wants the city to become a control group for not having social distancing. 🤯🤯🤯

The funny thing is that the mayor of the city of Las Vegas has nothing to do with 95% of “Vegas” tourism, which takes place outside the city limits. MADflyer Posted April 23, 2020 #75 Share Posted April 23, 2020 The Wow-band technology can be enhanced in many ways and can provide for elevator destination management, deck chair social distancing assignments and track movements and interactions with passengers and crew along with reporting a passenger with a fever to the ships medical staff. I guess sensors could even track use of hand washing stations prior to entering dining rooms and entertainment venues. Royal already uses facial recognition technology all over the ship. It was already being developed to track passenger movements in port and sensors were going to be placed in shops in ports even to track passenger spending and other information. With the right level of investment and research, there will be many technological safeguards that can be developed.
