We chose this following a very unexpected casino email offer from HAL yesterday. Huge savings (about 60% off current fare) & we aren't even big gamblers. I even thought it was a scam at first, but yup it was legit.

The first time I received a casino offer, I too thought it was a joke. $199.00 for a Neptune Suite. I asked the agent "Is this $199.00 per day?" She said "No. It's the  price for the entire cruise", and I've been sailing in Neptune Suites every time they are offered to me, even though the price is ten times that now, they are worth it. Being treated like royalty is something I could get used to.

 

Those that are in the very front have a very little balcony that only fits two little chairs and a tiny cocktail table, and there is no way to stretch out.  They are mostly metal instead of glass, so there's really not much view unless you're standing. This is not one of those 'swing around balcony' cabins. The wind is constant while moving. You will feel every little wave, and probably you will rock and roll while at sea. If you enjoy lounging on your balcony, you may want to opt for a different cabin. Happy sailing!

Thank you for the report, Rich. No teddy bears today but two of the grandkids and their parents will be over to celebrate their (4/6) birthdays. Good thing there is a pool to keep them cool! Because they are here, it will be burgers or pizza for dinner, but I'm going to definitely make the Thai Peanut Chicken in the near future. DD who lives with us doesn't like nuts, but I say "Nuts to her!"  I've always loved Gallagher, and this quote is spot on!

 

@puppycanducruise, we had no rain here south of the 401 at all. My sister in St. Catherines said that they had quite the storm. My poor grass is sooooo dry and our water is $$$$$ so it will have to wait for the rain. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow, but we need a really good soaking!

 

Joy, I'm so glad that you can keep on top of those oxygen levels. Prayers for both of you as Allen recuperates.

 

Roy, I like the idea of a daily care list. I'm in charge of the Church list once a week, and I know that it brings comfort to all -those who need it and those who care. ❤️

 

@gigianne, we had our first two tomatoes from our Rapunzel yesterday. So tasty!  DH accused me of taking them out of the clamshell on the counter. I reassured him that these were ours. I'm glad that we got to eat them and not the birds-they get the blackberries, which look like there will be lots this year.

That's a great deal @BobbiSox. I could get used to Neptune life, too. I was excited to get a cheaper rate on the verandah when I last booked. Hopefully, when the time comes I might get a decent upsell offer. 😉

Not quite true.  While all the HAL ships are gone there are still 10 cruise ships in the bay plus NCL Joy at the dock.  Caledonian Sky, Quantum of the Seas, Silver Muse, 4 Carnival and 3 Costa.

 

Nobody has left for a couple of days.

I just found a You Tube video that will show you the balcony of Neptune Suite 10006 in the very front of the New Amsterdam, and it's the exact same tiny balcony I was talking about, with mostly the steel wall instead of the glass. The balcony is shown very clearly at the END of the video. The rest of the room may be different, but the balcony is identical. in every way. Just to  You Tube and search for it.

Oh Joy!!! LOL David and I are laughing! I can almost do the p....!!! Out on balcony right now having margaritas and the ocean is beautiful!! In 55 minutes we will also toast to you and Allen for his recovery and to your wonderful adventures at hand!!
