This article from Sept. 3 has pictures of Empress and Majesty at the dock in Souda from the other day when MJ first arrived and claims the stop in Heraklion was for CV-19 testing:

If Uk the system was that bad, why have we got dingy's overloaded with people trying to get in.

Majesty went back to anchor,  Empress did not.

Unclear if source is reliable, but is reportedly a diagram of ships to be scrapped in Aliaga. Neither Empress or Majesty are on the diagram, which may be a good sign...

 

Or they may be in Lot III....or going to a different scrap yard.

Empress still has Souda as her AIS destination.  She has made a right turn resembling her other weekly runs in open water.  Due back in Souda at 5am if AIS is to be believed.

Sometimes the ship name is changed for the final voyage by removing letters. I think it is an old tradition.

It's like when the airlines paint over the logo of a retired airplane. Not that they are fooling anyone, but they just don't want us to see photos of a partially scrapped plane with their name on it.

In CO there are pot dispensaries that have acquired old fast food buildings. The large glass "Play Space" where kids used to climb and play is now the sales floor where marijuana is sold.   That gives a whole new meaning to "Do you want fries with that?"

We are still waiting for the anouncement when Empress and Majesty will head to the scrap yard, looks like they need to wait until the Carnival and Pullman Ships were scraped.

I noted that too.  

 

What a waste (money spent on the dry dock).   Clearly the plan was to keep her.  Interesting how quickly they gave up on her.  Maybe she had underlying health conditions...
