In other news... I booked yet another cruise on Empress this past weekend.  Seemed wise to convert an existing cruise into a B2B, time will tell.

 

This makes 3 new cruises booked on her since this thread started.  

 

Only time will tell.

Perhaps they are unloading the last of the valuables before they go to the beach.

Empress on the move.  Perhaps they needed to shift provisions between ships.

Decided to hope for the best.  Booked suite on Empress for May 31, 2021 to Bermuda.  If it doesn't make it there is always Oceania  in July with the same itinerary.

Empress has returned to her waiting area by the island.  Majesty has now sailed and it looks like she will join the Empress in the waiting area.

Looks like Empress spent ~7 hours at the pier.

 

 

She has since returned to the general area she was last anchored near.

 

 

As of ~ 20 minutes ago it appears she was getting her anchor set.

 

 

Majesty is presumably joining her at anchor.

 

 

Approaching 6pm local time as I write this.  Sunset in ~ 2 hours.

I wonder if they lose their annual free cruise when sold or scrapped?

Ok, new rule.  You can't scrap a ship while the ship's godmother/godfather is still alive.  

 

End result, all future ship godmothers/godfathers will be at least 80.  🙂

MJ's godmother is 86 now. Queen Sonja of Norway. 

Sovereign was Rosalyn Carter

Monarch was Lauren Bacall

Sailed with the whole Carter family on a New Years eve cruise out of Tampa on Jewel a few years back. The President and Ms. Carter had a JS about four doors down from our suite. Got to say hi to President Carter when he was out for a stroll on the pool deck with his secret service detail. BTW, Roselyn is now 93 and still going strong.

Laura met him a couple times on Delta flights from Atlanta to DC. said he was very outgoing

Oh that new rule would have saved many a ship. H.M. the Queen was godmother to a good many ships. Maybe that´s the reason they did not dare to scrape the old QE2. LOL .

I wonder why the Diehl sailed between the two cruise ships on her way out of port.   Seems like an unusual route to take.
