It's nearly full-on babywatch time now as my daughter is just three weeks from her due date.  I've told her, any time of the day or night, just call and we'll be in the car within an hour and on the road.

How exciting!

Happy Valentines Day and extra hugs for Roy @rafinmd ❣️

I am an organ donor, but not quite yet.  😜

Ugh.  Clean Out Your Computer Day.  I can’t even.  This is just the emails I haven’t read and that doesn’t include the junk mail folders!  😭

@grapau27, when you get back home you’ll have to tell us which resort in Spain.  It looks like a wonderful location!

@superoma, oh my gosh, that baby pic is too cute!!

@StLouisCruisers, I enjoyed the commercials.  Also the halftime show.  This is also the first time I have ever sat through a Super Bowl!

Looking forward to our cheesecake tonight!!  🍰

prayers to all who need them and will celebrate with others later today. @rafinmdi hope visiting your brothers gravesite will give you closure

Thank you for the Valentines Day Daily, Rich.  It won't be a day of celebration in my family; my brother died on Valentines day last year.  Between covid and my mitral valve issue I did not get to the funeral but hope to visit his grave Saturday when Enchantment of the Seas visits Port Canaveral.  Keeping my computer clean is a constant challenge and I haven't been on a ferris wheel in years.  I am an organ donor and like the quote but true not just for women but for men also.  The meal sounds nice.

Vigo was the first place I ever set foot in continental Europe (Crystal Symphony, 1996) but far too long ago for photos.

Thank you Rich, Roy and our whole Dailyite family. Happy Valentine’s Day. I plan to take myself out to lunch at the local casino. They make a killer Swiss burger. It’s not as cold today but a storm is coming through later this afternoon with a lot of snow. If predictions are right we will be on the fringe of the storm and should only get a couple of inches. I bought train tickets to my sisters for in a few weeks. It’s ten hours on the train each way but with winter conditions and the price of gas it’s more comfortable and half the price. I will be dog sitting her 15 yo dog while they are gone. They couldn’t bear to leave him with strangers in his aged condition so I volunteered. He is a real sweetheart and I miss my dog a lot. Prayers and cheers for all the family.

Nice!

Just a friendly reminder - you have 5 posts in a row.  You could have combined those in one mutli quote which helps make the thread less wieldy for reading 😉

All you need to do is click the + button (circled in my screen shot) and all the posts will be appear so you can quote each one.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Thanks to Rich and Roy and all of the good reading on The Daily.  Loved reading about marriages! We wed in Tucson, May 18, 1974. Parents loved DH, not just because he went to Church with us on Easter Sunday but that he spent the Saturday before Easter coloring eggs with my youngest sister, she was 13 years old. 🐇
We spent the best week in beautiful Arizona! DH volunteered to help his oldest sister sort, downsize and tidy her garage (his moving skills learned at Arizona Moving and Storage while in college are still strong many years later!) so with an offer from my brother and SIL to stay at their place in Tucson, we enjoyed 2 days of dusty work. With that completed, DH hiked Pima Canyon with 2 friends while I walked the neighborhood and sat in the sun. Brother, SIL, Phoenix sisters and an assortment of Tucson family and friends gathered on Saturday for a memorial for DH’s brother (1941-2020). It was so nice to be with people. So important to share memories and to say goodbye. SIL and brother hosted a small group for early supper (salad, vegetables and bbq chicken) and we finished the night with Dominoes & watched a few more episodes of Reacher. Taking the long way home the next morning, we brought brunch to my DM in Peoria, AZ and spent a few hours with her, listening to pre Super Bowl “experts” talking while I altered her 2 new from Christmas blouses. Exciting game, would love to visit the stadium.  Now that travel is easier, we will try to visit DM every month or so as before the pandemic.  With a 35 day cruise (Zuiderdam on 2/27!), I am hopeful that we will see her again for her 102 birthday in April.

Good morning all and Happy Valentine's Day!

DH and I have a day of shopping planned, (cruise clothes hopefully).  Also we're helping our neighbor to get her military ID card.  Her DH passed away probably 25+ years ago and sadly she's never gotten her ID card.  So she's never been able to take advantage of Commissary, Exchange, and Tricare privileges. I was shocked when she told me.

After that we'll probably get some take-out for dinner and include a rare gooey dessert this time.

DH and I are both registered organ donors.  Our niece had a kidney transplant a year ago, unfortunately that kidney is failing and she's on dialysis. 😞  Praying she can have another transplant.

We've been to Vigo once, on our 50th anniversary cruise in 2019 (our last cruise before Covid).  It was an extremely foggy day so the views weren't optimal.  We took an excursion to some ancient ruins and had a nice lunch.

@rafinmdThinking of you as you remember your brother's passing on this day a year ago.

@StLouisCruiserswhat a beautiful urn and wonderful photo of you and your sister!  I would love to have something like that -- 12 years ago I lost my beloved sister on Feb. 12, and 6 days later my dear Mother.  So February has been hard since then, although each year does get better.

@SuslorHappy Birthday to your DH!

@superomaHappy Birthday to your twin daughters!

@mamaofamihow terrible about the credit card fraud 😞  I'm curious, does the agency at least do background checks when they're hired?

View from our balcony.  At 8:00 am it was dark with heavy fog in Vigo

Our guide passed around this beautiful photo, showing us what we *would have* seen if there were no fog.

While it's hard for me it's a lot harder for others.  With Roger in Florida and me in Maryland we only met about once a year or so.  It's a lot harder on his children and grandchildren who he saw very frequently, flying to California at least monthly.  Worst of all is his widow.  Valentines Day should never be the day to lose a spouse.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

Happy Valentine's Day! I keep my computer ship shape all the time. I like Ferris wheels; there was one by the boardwalk where I grew up. Organ donors are important; I'm one. I was a bone marrow donor too, but aged out of that (I was surprised to get a letter saying I was now too old).

Great quote!

I'll pass on the meal and drink. The wine sounds interesting.

I haven't been to today's destination.

It's still cold here with snow flurries, but will warm up by Wednesday. I'm off to the Hematologist shortly.

@kazu Try to get some rest today.

@rafinmd Prayers for you on this sad anniversary date.

@mamaofami Wow, never ending issues with these aides!

Running off to my appointment. I'll check back in later.

Carolyn, thank you for your photos taken while on tour in Vigo.  Too bad about that fog though.  That happened to us in Volos, Greece and the fog was so thick we could barely see to walk up the steps to the Meteora Monastery.  I've never gotten back there.

As for the mini urns, my DD was looking for some online so her DH could have a small portion of his Mom's remains.  Apparently they even have them on Amazon!  Beautiful colors and styles but I found the ones we have right away.  Very inexpensive too.

My mother died on Valentine's Day in 2005 and missed out seeing her beloved White Sox win their first World Series Championship in 88 years later on in October, she would have been so happy.
