Labadee Safe?

Last time I was there, the back gate behind BBQ stand was unlocked and wide open.

Apparently ‘beyond the fence’ it’s very nice.

We have friends who traveled across from the Dominican Republic and stayed in the Cormier Beach Resort last summer which is a couple of miles away from labadee and they had a great time.

With all the news about Haitian unrest, will Labadee be safe? I know they have fence guards, but a couple of years back no one could get off the ship due a fleet of small boats doing a protest.

The protest with the boats has nothing to do with the unrest in Haiti, different year, different situation.  If you need to ask, than don't go.  Labadee, is an isolated area in Haiti, and is leased by the cruise industry.  Every country has protesting (including the USA) and various other items to be concerned about.  That is the world.  So, there is nothing to be conerned about, but make your own choice in the matter.

Labadee is a significant distance from the capital.  It likely has excellent security around and outside of the complex.

In addition, the cruise line monitors for possible security threats and would cancel the port call if there were potential problems.

The person was just seeking opinions. "If you have to ask than don't go".... really?🙄
