terry I hear they are looking for dedicated butlers for the upper suites.  Perhaps you could do this on board during your next cruise.

I think there'd likely be a charge for him to do that, after all, they'd have to provide a name tag and ID. That would be at least $50 + 20% gratuity to hand it to him, not to mention the fee for the photograph.

This whole situation is really taking the biscuit! Things at Celebrity are clearly crumbling. They are just choc chipping away at our loyalty!

OK a lot of British phrasing there but I think I understand your comment!😄

But if he were my butler I would give him a pretty good tip.

But has he confirmed there are no longer any free cookies at Al Bacio? That's the only thing that matters really.

Yes, there was a picture of Al Bacio showing a much reduced display case of pastries and no cookie jars on top.

On another site we can't mention, it has been reported more than once by current Equinox passengers that that sign is in place and they are indeed charging for the cookies.  What other proof do you need?

They posted a picture of the sign.  I know the source and view him as highly reliable and honest! He has been a valuable source of helpful information for many years.

The guest lecturer's that show up on cruises and do seminars on things like Whales actually get a free cruise in exchange for their onboard services, but it's not in a suite, so I would have to pass.

And the report included that free cookies were still available in the OVC.  The reports by the way are from "Host Andy" who is currently onboard Equinox with his sister.

I suspect the line for $2 cookies will be just as long as the line for Gelato.  If they want to save money maybe they should just abandon that station.  That's one CC perk that wouldn't hurt my feelings to lose, they can replace with a free cookie.

Yes, they are still available in the OVC. Guess I'll take my tote bag and pick up a few to go with my coffee at Al Bacio. When I'm done I can run in for some more water.  Next thing you'll be hearing:

I agree, that person is very reliable and I would take his word 100% over any speculation.

But, are they available 24/7? I might have a cookie craving at 2am! If I call room service that $2 cookie just became $9.95 + 20%🤢

$11.95 +20%. You forgot to include the cost of the cookie.

I never had a craving during any of my preganacies that was worth $14.34

$14.27, maybe, but certainly not $14.24.

I know.  And I also get better attention because of status.  But on last year's TA, macaroons were the only option at al Bacio with my afternoon tea.  At least  they did hide them in the back for me (otherwise they'd be gone).

On recent Apex TA, no macaroons at Al bacio. Did have lemon tarts so had one of my likes.

Doing their job, not a service!

So a bartender handing you a bottle of beer isn't doing his job but gets a tip, but someone loading and wheeling a few hundred bottles to the exit for departing pax is only doing a job because you grab one.

People spend thousands on a cruise and then nit pick on gratuities.

I was on Summit one month ago and Cafe al Baccio looked great.

What is happening on other ships is irrelevant! Equinox has become a test ship for new ideas such a vaping in the casino and charging for cookies at Al Bacio I feel so sorry for the staff who hear the complaints and perhaps suffer from the ratings.

Just thinking, always dangerous.

Anybody remember Freshman year dorm food?

the jokes about mystery meals.

Chicken Fried Steak? With lots of gravy . Greasy burgers.

many nights of pasta?

Not speaking ill of my mother' cooking...but she told her friends that us boys seemed way too eager to get back to the dorm dining rooms.

I was on the Apex last month for 12 days and there was chocolate macaroons and cookies in the jars on top of the pastry showcase in Al Bacio.

Add Equinox to the list of ships I will not sail on.  I am not a guinea pig for new cuts.

Boy oh boy. I would hazard a guess that this pic was taken near to closing time - certainly not during peak hours.

As to Equinox being used for trials so was Eclipse.

The good news is that it looks as if the Vaping trial has ended with the ban remaining fleet wide - see separate thread.

I thought about that, but at 2am the cookies would not be fresh baked and would come from a pile of day or two old unsold cookies and charging $2 for the cookie was just too cheezie even for Celebrity.
