Questions regarding muster and Blu----

My next sailing on Celerity will be on Eclipse next month.  This is the first cruise since Pandemic----

 1. I saw on the apt, safety briefing starts at 11:00.  It said to watch life jacket video--- Location to show up is at Murano.

I thought that after lunch maybe 1:00ish, I would then go to Murano to sign in.  This of course is completely different from the way muster drills were handled before the pandemic.  Any info regarding muster- how long will it take, what I am supposed to do on the apt regarding this etc. is appreciated.

2.  While I have always booked Aqua class on Celebrity,  I really only ate in Blu a couple of times for dinner on each of my sailings.  I just liked the short ribs of beef and Rib Eye--  I read that on Eclipse, as long as you give advance notice to Blu, you can order off MDR menu. How far in advance do you need to do this? Early in the day? The day before?  For example this is a Thanksgiving sailing.  I would prefer to have the main dining room traditional Thanksgiving meal. So when should I let Blu know? Again, all info is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.  Anita

On boarding day for  muster you now watch the video on the app or on the TV in your cabin.  Then go to your muster station and check in with one of the crew members there.  Takes less than 2 mins to check in at the muster station.

Assuming one isn’t dragging heavy check in size bags (the porters end their shift prior to the all aboard), it’s highly recommended to immediately head to your muster station and get that off your plate.  It’s the only thing you’re required to do; once you get it done you won’t think about it again

Recommended by whom? From my recollection, the first thing you are told to do is go to your cabin, get your room key, and drop off your bags.

It’s so much depends on the location of your room and the location of your muster station. I would go to whichever one is closest first,

if the muster station is in Marano and you are boarding on deck five, swing by there first, and take care of it

my muster station is off in the theater. In that case, it’s usually most convenient to go to the room first, drop off the carryon  and then go the theater.

By me; of course they want you to grab your room key so you can start spending.  Anyone can do as they wish, we generally have a small carryon bag which isn’t a pain to move

All true yet I’m just pointing out when most board, even if they have studied the deck plan, it can be overwhelming to find anything

I see, but “highly recommended” is such an odd phrase to use for something that’s just a personal opinion, it threw me off.

ok, at the risk of sounding totally stupid,  does the video on the app have to be watched on the ship upon embarkation? It is on the app now already.  Is it very crowded to go in the am upon boarding to Murano?  Just wondering.  Anita

Generally, there is a short line of passengers waiting to check-in at their muster station.  There are NO safety instructions, no lecture, no briefing at the muster station.  You just check-in to show that you have found it.  Celebrity does NOT want you to bring your life jacket.

You can watch the lecture on your phone or in the cabin TV.  You can watch it on your phone any time on embarkation day, before the ship sails.  Including while you are waiting to board the ship.  I usually watch it while unpacking my things, after which I turn the TV off for the rest of the cruise.

No.  I’ve sailed 136 nights since the pandemic so lots of e-musters.  There’s no way for them to even see that you watched it on the TV so it’s the honor system.  I’ve never seen it crowded and have spent as little as a few second to two minutes

We usually drop our bags in our room, and head to the muster station, it takes a couple minutes for them to scan your sea pass card. You’ll need to watch the video first though.

Cruised on EC in Aqua at the end of August , we were told we could only order the daily things (french onion soup, shrimp cocktail, etc) from the MDR. If we had a dietary restriction, our waiter said he would check with the manager to accommodate us.

YMMV but I would mention your wish for the traditional Thanksgiving menu on day 1, so you can make other arrangements if necessary.

On our last cruise we followed the Retreat Concierge from the Retreat waiting area onto the ship and since our Muster station was in the Casino, we stopped there on the way to the Retreat Lounge and checked in.  We had watched the video in our hotel prior to coming to the ship.

We did not go get our room keys until after we had gotten a drink in the Retreat Lounge -- first things first you know!!

E-Muster takes 5 min. and is completed in the Celebrity app. It's the same for all passengers. You watch maybe 4 videos, show the crew member at your Muster Station that you did it and they'll either scan your phone to be-bop the completion or highlight your name on a list. You can even do it before setting foot in the terminal.

I don't know about Da Kahuna's experience of getting his first drink before he got his SeaPass card, but I had to get my SeaPass card before getting a drink -- the SeaPass card id'd me to the bartender.  No card, no drink!  That is a darn good reason to go to get your SeaPass card first thing!

As Quilter notes, going to grab the Card also lets you put valuables in the safe, so you don't have to drag them around.

You are correct. A SeaPass card is necessary to get a drink.  However, no SeaPass card is needed to get your free Mimosa or bubbly when greeted onboard.

Head to your room to get your cards, drop off your carry ons and to put valuables in the safe. You may even meet your room attendant at that time.

On our last two cruises, when we checked in, we were told that you could go to the muster station as soon as you boarded. Muster stations are usually on deck 4/5 and only takes a few minutes to be given the safety instructions.

That was my experience, after stepping on the ship we were told we should go to the muster first. It wasn’t a demand or anything but they asked us to do it.

Because he was escorted on the ship by the retreat concierge, the card was not needed in the retreat lounge.

if not sailing in a suite, you would need your SeaPass card to order a drink

You can use your Xpress pass to get a drink if you haven't picked up your Seapass card. No matter the stateroom category.

Guys, thanks for the education!

I'm like an overburdened pack mule when we board, with all of my wife's carry-ons, so I'll keep on going to the cabin first to drop off our junk!  I don't have an escort to get me a drink, but I can usually find a trough of cold water once I have my SeaPass.

I like a drink..which I have already paid for…your cruise card makes that easier..i like to get mine…plus I have very little in carry on stuff…I travel light.

Re Blu..if I don’t like the menu why would I eat there?  I’m not a picky 8 year old.
