ECCruise Posted February 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) A site that I use has no listing for a Millennium dry dock (last was in April of 2015). One thing that is planned when it is done is to remove the beautiful Olympic restaurant and replace it with Tuscan Grille. Ugh. You expect it around Mid 2018 to Early 2019.
K.T.B. Posted February 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2016 As I mentioned in another thread about this: The dry dock is scheduled between April 26-May 12, 2016. :)
lovescarborough Posted February 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2016 Definitely is this year. Staff in Olympic told us , and for the record they weren't happy about the change to Tuscan Grill either!
BEAV Posted February 22, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2016 Dry dock will be in Victoria, BC following the Honolulu-Vancouver cruise and the first Alaska sailing which departs May 12. http://www.timescolonist.com/business/shipyard-in-esquimalt-abuzz-with-refit-work-1.2126829 Victoria Shipyards has also successfully courted the lucrative cruise-ship industry. The Crown Princess was here for a refit in May. Next to arrive for refits will be Celebrity Cruises’ Millennium at the end of April or early May, followed by the Crystal Serenity in May. Celebrity Cruises Posted February 22, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 22, 2016 Anyone know what and when this will occur and what improvements are planned? With an $8M makeover scheduled for April 2016, Celebrity Millennium is ready to stun—right alongside the ship that inspired her new look, Celebrity Solstice. Now on Celebrity Millennium, you can relax at the chic new Rooftop Terrace, catching a movie under the stars with themed cocktails and snacks (our new A Taste of Film experience). Refuel from your exhilarating day ashore with USDA dry aged steaks and fresh-made pastas at Tuscan Grille, already a smash hit on our Solstice class ships. And recharge in our revamped Penthouse and Royal Suites, with glimmering new powder room fixtures, marble surfaces, and fabrics throughout. But, we didn’t stop there. You’ll notice stylish new touches around every corner, from Fortunes Casino to the adults-only Solarium.

LWRcruisers Posted February 22, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) I am quite happy to hear from Celebrity, letting us know what the plans are for the dry dock. I will be on the Millennium in June, and look forward to seeing the changes. Edited February 22, 2016 by LWRcruisers
Bo1953 Posted February 22, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) I do not mind X writing anything here, at least it is 'official' and NOT speculation, albeit brief... Besides someone asked a question about dry dock, did they not? bon voyage Edited February 22, 2016 by Bo1953

I've heard they are tired looking and at the prices charged would hope that they get spiffed up as well.

Not at all like the origjnal contributions of Celeb Cruises...now just blurbs from the ads... Usually, yes, but not in the specific case. Though it would have been nice to have it written out in a less of a "PR" sort of way... Be that as it may, I'm glad to know what's being done to the ship a few weeks before I board it! :)

And from everything we've heard, Tuscan Grille on the M Class ships (replacing the wonderful ocean liner venues) is a bust. Agree completely, it used to feel like there was an actual person relaying information and answering questions. Now they just quote the web site with things that most of us know already. posspet Posted March 14, 2016 #18 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Can't edit or delete my previous post, so will try again. Hi Celebrity, I'm a bit confused, as your official website mentions just 2 M Class ships, Summit and Infinity, getting the full renovation treatment. http://www.celebritycruises.com/captains-club/whats-new?event_date=2015-10-08&sequence_code=a Are you sure Millennium is included? Cheers, Scotty
posspet Posted March 14, 2016 #19 Share Posted March 14, 2016 My apologies, I found a more recent article, from earlier this month, from the Celebrity website and it does say Millennium is also getting renovated. http://www.celebritycruises.com/captains-club/whats-new?event_date=2016-03-04&sequence_code=a&pageNumber I look forward to seeing the changes when I cruise on Millie in August. Jeaannie55 Posted March 15, 2016 #22 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Just off The Millennium and spent a few nights in The Olympic getting my 'fix' of goats cheese soufflé and lobster before it disappears! Not at all happy that it is changing into Tuscan! But of course, things change and you never know I might enjoy it as much!
mcrcruiser Posted March 15, 2016 #23 Share Posted March 15, 2016 We will see what the Tuscan Grill offers when board Millenium for our May 12th Alaska 8 night cruise .;) In the past we did enjoy the specialty restaurant ;)
cwayne Posted March 30, 2016 #24 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Can't wait to see her May 12th! I may have to be forcibly removed from this ship at the end of the cruise!! :D
uktraveller Posted March 30, 2016 #25 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Any chance that the normal cabins will get a facelift? We had an exceptionally tired looking AQ cabin on Millenium last April. Aside from that, looking forward to seeing all the improvements when we sail her in December.
