They need to announce this crap so we can all move on with our lives LOL. I've heard nothing yet from them and I'm an agent...last i heard was last week when i posted that he said we'd see changes come out in the next 2 weeks. It's been 1 week so far lol.

I'm select and hoping the bar for elite doesn't move too far away :(

Any new system is going to have a higher % of revenue based point earning options. It only makes sense. They will give more points for onboard spending, taking Celebrity Shore excursions, gambling in the casino etc.....AS well as cabin booked and length of cruise. It only makes sense that someone who books a penthouse equivalent in size to 6 standard cabins gets 6X the points that others get.

Basically I expect that it will be a spend more get more type program!

I am ready to spend and cruise!

Safe travels to all!

You forget any non-onboard spend - flights [remember outside USA and Canada, Celebrity sell flights direct] and hotels.

I like your signature with the itinerary map. What website or program did you use?

Probably can't enter the address here...but if you simply click on one of the maps in the sig it will take you there,,,:D

Yes cle guy, that works but only on the last map and it takes you to that departure port information page. To get the Cruise Ticker (count down) you need to go to the home page by selecting that in the Jump To box in the top left corner. Once there click on the cIick on the Cruise Ticker under the sample map at the top right. It is a cruise ship schedule and port information, not an agency booking site so it should be allowed here. The home page is

http://www.cruisetimetables.com/

After making your countdown Cruise Ticker you need to copy the second link (code snippet) to paste into your CC signature. This is identified by

PseudoHTML, UBBCode or BBCode

Use for forum board signatures where HTML is not allowed.

Yesterday I did a search (New Elite) and found a post from someone who works at Celelbrity corporate....she/he said that in late 2013 or Jan 1 2014 the new Elite will be 25 points. It was a post from 2012....of course, I can't find it again...maybe someone better at searching can. :)

That's ancient information. Clearly from posts yesterday that were since deleted, they are going to tier points and they are giving away 25 tier points with cruises booked in the UK during a promotion period that starts at the end of this month. That means we will know the new plans prior to then. I am sure they have paid someone some bucks to figure out the exact date and hour for the announcement.

My experience would tell me that if they wanted to make a big splash marketing program, they would NOT announce just before thanksgiving and the holiday season because folks are not focused on cruising and booking cruises. The types of things you announce at this time of year are generally things that can have negative reactions because a) the reactions are missed who aren't following the internet/press because they are focused on other things, and b) even those who react negatively have other things on their minds. It seems reasonably clear that whatever they announce will be viewed by some as a "take away", even if it's not...because change confuses things. Others will find it a plus (new higher levels), but even they will find fault that they should have gotten more.

I think they'll announce an OK program, the same or better for most, but not all. I've also been wrong many times :)

I wonder how accurate those images are that were found yesterday (and are attached to this thread). The elite+ image shows a waiter/sommelier with a tasting cup around his neck. Celebrity eliminated those a while back. One has to wonder if they just found an old picture and didn't realize it's inaccuracy or if the page is old/suspect. It would imply that elite+ will enjoy a private lounge...perhaps michael's club which is now an unused VIP club on some ships.

Well there definitely must be some truth in the 25 points scheme (as stated on the UK promotion link) because they were very quick to have both of the threads removed! If it was a hoax, surely someone from X would have just commented on the threads rather than have them banished to the CC depths ;)?

So, do you think Zenith will enjoy a private pool?!? :D

No, I agree with you. I found those images (along with a lot of other people; I wasn't the one who posted them). After really looking at the image (especially the Zenith level), I figured out that particular image was a cut-and-paste of a current image being used at a travel agent website. Not a mystery; the travel agents have a secure, password-protected website and the whole image appears there, on the splash page available to everyone who lands at the site.

Someone mentioned that the images were just being used as a "filler" type of tool during the development phase, which I think is very plausible. So, other than the mysterious 25 bonus points for booking by a particular time that appeared on the UK flyer, I think our points speculation is excellent cocktail chatter, but nothing meaningful.

I just can't imagine why Celebrity would create such lofty point balances for loyalty levels... maybe so a Celebrity Zenith could look a Royal Pinnacle in the eye, lift an eyebrow, and declare "you ONLY HAVE 750 POINTS!!! OMG, I HAVE 3000 POINTS! My LOYALTY program is WAY BETTER than yours, OBVIOUSLY!" So, bragging rights... but I can think of no other reason. Maybe I need more coffee to come up with better reasons; or, maybe I need some wine... but it's too early for that.

I feel you are correct - because in my thoughts a calculation of 25 x 7 = 175 points

With RCL 175 points = DP

Therefore 175 points could be the new EP or Zenith

My 2 cents for what it is worth ;)

3000 points Zenith does make sense if 25 points are being offered as a bonus.

Imagine that they convert each night sailed so far as

10 points in full suites

8 points in Sky Suites

6 points per night in AQ or CC

5 in Balcony etc

4 in OV

3 in Inside

Maybe less if on a GTY rate. More if booked early

Then 2 points for every $100 spent onboard spend

You could easily have

Elite 10 points becomes 300 new tier points

Elite+ 25 points becomes 750 new tier points

Zenith 100 points becomes 3000 new tier points

It may be a coincidence but the Captains Club part of the website is currently off-line

FWIW, there are pictures of sommeliers with tasting cups on the Celebrity website now, two are here:

We know that many pictures on the website have little to do with reality -- they have the wrong Michael's Club photos on several ships' pages, also the wrong Sky Lounge photos. I think that their advertising people just pull up stock images, without thought to their accuracy or relevance.

I am surprised that you would think that they would use such a strategy since many of your posts express the view that they are pretty stupid when it comes to Miami's management & marketing decisions.
