ger_77 Posted December 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2017 I get a number of news feeds and this one just came through about a horrific accident in Mexico involving passengers from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. My prayers go to those left behind, and for anyone injured in this accident. I can't imagine the anguish their families and friends must be going through, especially at this time of year. https://cruisefever.net/12-cruise-passengers-dead-tour-bus-crashes-mexico/ Smooth Sailing! ger_77 Posted December 19, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted December 19, 2017 Apparently the passengers were from the Serenade of the Seas and the Celebrity Equinox. Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

Rare rafinmd Posted December 19, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 19, 2017 How sad. It looks like Celebrity and RCCL were cooperating on this tour and the deaths were actually passengers on the Celebrity Equinox. Several injuries on the Serenade. What an awful way to start the holiday season. Roy

holacanada Posted December 19, 2017 #13 Share Posted December 19, 2017 I feel sad for all the people who are involved in this terrible accident. RIP. I've visited Chachoben ruins twice with and autocar like this one from the port of Costa Maya. The road to go there is sometime very bad and narrow. As I remember at that time I do not feel secure in the transport from port to the ruins and back. Holacanada

Rare ski ww Posted December 20, 2017 #23 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Heard it on the news last night, but no details. For some reason the first thing I thought was a cruise ship excursion. Thoughts & prayers to all involved. Allan
1ANGELCAT Posted December 20, 2017 #24 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Heartbreaking. There’s a thread on the Celebrity forum with more information. A poster received the terrible news that his brother and his brother’s wife were both killed in the accident. Prayers for all [emoji120] Sent from my iPad using Forums
wales4ever Posted December 20, 2017 #25 Share Posted December 20, 2017 A similar thing happened on our Celebrity cruise 2/3 years ago in the Caribbean with 3 dead and a dozen or so injured. This happened on the very first shore day. Apart from an intial announcement from the captain the whole thing was brushed away by the ships staff and never mentioned again as if nothing had happened. There is always some waiver on your ships excursions form, but does anyone ever read them? We have been on ships excursions with buses with bald tyres, etc.
