jagsfan Posted August 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2018 I will be cruising to Hawaii in September 2019. The first 5 days are Sea Days. What do YOU like to do on Sea Days? Sleep, read, play trivia. Read some more, sleep some more. Once I set up Bunco for my Roll Call on a Transatlantic. We kept picking up more people and everyone had a blast. champagne123 Posted August 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Read, relax, people watch. Hubby smokes and smokers tend to congregate. Have met tons of people over the years and have kept many friendships over the years.
shippmates Posted August 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2018 I like to read and find a table in the solarium to do my counted cross stitch. It is so much easier to do with all the natural light. My husband likes to do paint by number so he will spend time doing that along with time in the pool. We love sea days so the more sea days we have the better we like it. tortoisegirl Posted August 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Sleep in, have leisurely dining room meals, nap, day drinking, puzzle books, read a book, my husband loves the ice skating (only on some ships), take in the scenery, and go to some activities if we feel like it. danv3 Posted August 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Trivia, read a book, sit on balcony and look out at the ocean.
jcc1025 Posted August 4, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Late breakfast, hang out at the solarium for a couple of hours, maybe check out a couple of events from the Cruise Compass, read on the balcony. Very nice, the more we have cruised the more we like sea days the most.
jordanaire Posted August 4, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Get yourself an LRC dice game and invite others to join you. Make a few bucks having a great time. We did this every night on our 15-day cruise to Hawaii in 2012. Sent from my LG-LS993 using Forums mobile app
cb at sea Posted August 4, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 4, 2018 I would HATE 5 sea days in a row. I don't need THAT much relaxation! One sea day, now and again, is nice, but not 5 in a row.
3monkeys4me Posted August 5, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 5, 2018 Sleep in, read, take a nap.... Sounds like heaven right now. With 5 sea days, I'm sure I'd fit a workout in on at least a couple of the days, probably some pool time and trivia too. As well as checking out the compass for any activities, Generally, I am not at activities type person. Our cruise next spring has 3 days in a row and I think I am going to treat myself to a massage one fo those days, something I never do on a cruise. We have a very busy 5 day pre cruise and 3 days post cruise so the cruise itself is really our time to destress and relax.

We take between 4 and 6 books ,read them on sea days and leave them on the ship. The only exception was when I took a book titled Of Times Remembered that was so good I had to being it home. luvscruising2007 Posted August 5, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 5, 2018 People watch which always interrupts my reading. Napping, hanging at the pool, walking around the deck, playing mini-golf, finding interesting activities on board, enjoying an adult beverage, eating and napping. Jimnbigd Posted August 5, 2018 #24 Share Posted August 5, 2018 I see you are on the Radiance. It is a smaller RCI ship without much onboard stuff (no an ice rink or pool slides). There is mini-golf, but it might be windy on sea days. Check your daily newsletter ("Cruise Compass") for special activities during the day. There likely will be different trivia contests, and some really popular events such as the belly flop contest. There might even be an afternoon theater show (I've had some before). The Viking Crown lounge (the semi-circle glass area) is a great place to sit during the day -- if you can find a seat. Generally though ships don't come alive for me until nighttime. Rare Hlitner Posted August 5, 2018 #25 Share Posted August 5, 2018 On sea days? As little as possible :). We do a lot of reading and might attend a lecture if its something interesting. Otherwise its read, eat, drink, socialize, read, eat drink. Hank
