Do people really steal toilet paper on the last night?

Years ago the BB team from AA was checking into a hotel for the first away game of the season.   The coach had a meeting and told all the players not to lower themselves by stealing  the towels, pillows, blankets and etc because they represented the school, and if they were going to steal anything they should show more class by at least stealing the TVs.

This reminded me of a trip I took in high school.  Our principal gave the same spiel about not stealing anything from anywhere.  At one hotel, we sat on the buses for half an hour while the hotel staff went through all the rooms, and then we sat there another half hour while being berated because a blanket was missing.  Just as quickly as the drama had started, the principal quickly left the bus, came back on, and then we were on our way.  Turned out that it was one of the parent chaperones who "accidentally" took it, and she finally admitted it when she realized they were about to start searching luggage.  This was a queen-sized blanket that she had "mistakenly" packed in her suitcase.  The poor woman's child was mortified.

Just because you are on a cruise does not mean you could afford it. I would go further to say there is quite a few on each cruise who did not pay a dime.

Please let us all know how to get a free cruise.

I was told that the reason they no longer stock Qtips and cotton balls in a jar was because so many people just take them when they disembarque . Now the room stew just brings those little boxes of "personal" items when asked.

Sad😖

I'd gladly drop $10k (even $20k) at the casino if they promised me a PH on a 10 night Edge cruise :classic_biggrin:

You must be Day Dreaming.

Triple Zeniths didn't even get a Sky Suite.for a free cruise. They only offered AQ Class.

They spent as least over $300.00 per person.

Well, the way sales appear to be going, you may get offered something - if not the PH, an oceanview with a drop-down window 🤣. The casino players have already been offered the free cruises on Edge and now ‘kids go free’. As someone else pointed out, it may be ‘grandparents go free’ on the next promotion 😆. Do you fit into that category by any chance :classic_biggrin:?

Pretty simple...have someone else pay for it....grandma, parents, friends, contest winners....I think you might surprised at the number of folks on any given cruise that did not contribute to the cruise fare.

Let's bring it full circle: Spend $10,000 in the casino and they will let you have a free roll of TP on the last night!

Yes, its one of the highest rated Promotional Credit prizes. People keep coming back for more.

As the owner of a Bed & Breakfast, I can tell you that yes, yes, there are those people who clean out their room upon departure.

Earlier this week had a party that took every roll of toilet paper, every tissue box, every K-cup, and every soda out of their room. I guess they figured they paid for the room for the night, or the suite for the week, and they're entitled to everything in it that isn't nailed down.

Thankfully, those people are about 1% of the guests, but it's usually the 1% that screw things up for everyone.

I didn't know my MIL stayed at your Bed and Breakfast.

(Sorry I exaggerated.  She stops at soap, shampoo and q-tips.  But if she had a K-cup, those might be vulnerable)

I always have assumed that proprietors priced rooms to include those listed consummable items. I am not saying that I condone taking all that, but it must be a bad price point if that one room using everything messes it all up for the whole place.  Of course, I am assuming that they didn't raid supply closets, too.

I do hope you keep a blacklist!

Cruise lines always threaten that they can exclude or ban guests who violate their "guest guidelines," but has anyone ever known or met someone whose green the lines won't take anymore? They let people hoard chairs, disregard smoking rules for balconies, etc.

Should TP have RFID tracking?
