Does anyone know if the fish I made on my prior Medallion cruise (CB last October) that followed me around will come back on my next medallion cruise, or do I have to make a new one?

I got the Sports band. $12 onboard. While the Fitbit would have been cheaper, the sports band looks nicer, and I can use it on future cruises.

Kind of quirky to put on, but kids will figure it out. The loose strap has to be tucked under.

The Medallion only fits in through the bottom, so it can't fall out the top.

The Band is magnetized, so the Medallion only fits in one direction. The only issue is when Shore Security need to read the name on the medallion. I wore the band backwards to it was easier for other people to read when you hold it up. Otherwise, your name is upside down.

I wore it snorkling, and no issues.

Note: The Princess person told me to wear it tight when swimming so the Medallion does not fall out the bottom. That was too tight. I wore it with a slight gap on the bottom, but not large enough for the Medallion to fall out. In any case, it is held in by magnets, so it would not only have to be pushed down, but also the band raised up so it could fall out the bottom. Not likely.

I believe this was a reference to the "digital companion" feature.

Do it when you check-in. If they can't give you a new medallion then, then ask at the Passenger Service Desk. They replace medallions all the time (lost, battery runs out, etc.).

Yes, when I was on the CB there was a way to make a custom fish or turtle on the interactive screens, and every time I walked by one of the big medallion screens in the elevator lobbies and such, I could see my little fish swimming around.  😃

Yes, I am easily entertained!

Yes, your fish, turtle resides in your 'Play Ocean' app. Go to it on your phone or tablet and say hi to the little guy. Just checked in on mine and he is playing nicely with Jean's (DW) and Lindas (DD) tag-along.

Can't wait to see him again aboard the Sky Princess.

Ooooh! Now I feel motivated to get the app and see if it is there!  Thank you!

I had our photos all set on the Ocean Ready app awhile ago, last night I checked it and it switch my photo to that of my wife! Tried to fix it and couldn't. Got to port and sure enuf when it was scanned at the 1st checkpoint it was my wife! The guy looked at me (my wife just went thru ahead of me), I said, look at the name, the app messed up my photo, he let me thru. Went to the checking desk, & the fellow there took my pic, showed me and we went onboard, where it showed me as my wife again! *****, took another pic, seems to be fixed, but, I'm not holding my breath.

That happened to me as well. I will not try and explain how it happened but it seemed that a previous step I had completed for my wife and the next step continued under her name rather than go back to me - if that makes sense. Anyway I noticed it and was able to back track and fix it.

What does the black ring get you once you are on board?  What's the big deal about it.  We are elite and our next cruise is on the Ruby.  Just wanted to know if we are missing the significance of the black ring.

Black ring ID itself gets you nothing. It is just to make you feel good. Elite status gets you free laundry, priority tender, priority boarding, mini bar and other benefits.

Thanks

We purchased the coffee card,  will it be on the medallion or will it be a separate card >

How far ahead of your cruise can you sign up for Ocean Ready?

Our final payment for our Nov cruise is due Aug 6th and we made the payment a week early.  All the features of Ocean Ready and Ocean Now apps were made available to us 20 minutes after we submitted our payment, approx 100 days prior to cruise.  The final payment was the key.

We are due on Crown ob 17th August downloaded the app today but keep on getting that registration has failed and cannot log in so I have uninstalled it and will not use it onboard.

There's nothing to do with the Ocean Ready app on board.

There are many other apps that will only work when connected to the ship's wifi.  You don't have to use them but there don't seem to be nearly as many issues as Ocean Ready.

New System...the kinks will get worked out.  FWIW when my wife had the same problem with her Ocean Ready we were about to just bail and deal with check-in at the pier but for the hell of it I tried making an account under my e-mail address (not the address the princess booking was through) and much to my surprise was able to link the booking without a problem and everything worked perfectly from there through disembark.  Linking the booking, uploading docs, uploading photos, fast check-in, everything on board; literally zero hang-ups.  You mileage may vary, but it is possible.

We were on the Royal the week of July 6.  We received our medallions in the mail about 2 weeks prior to cruise.

I did not purchase the coffee card so I can't be sure, but I would think it would be "attached" to your account which you just use medallion.

No cards any more on any ship. The package is attached to your on board account. The barista will know you have the package and how many espresso drinks remain. Just show your medallion.

Hi, how does the  Medallion work in the casino? Thank you

Each machine has a reader on which you scan your medallion. Then you use the touch screen to enter password to add/access funds, etc.  It's actually a little more secure compared to the cruise card for those of us that are prone to leaving our cruise cards in the machine when we walk away 😂

Edit: table games work the same way,  you can add/access funds by scanning your medallion.
