I just checked the menus on my upcoming Summit cruise and I noticed that prime rib is not on any of the menus all week. Usually it's served on the first night and I've had it later on in the week on longer cruises. Has anyone else noticed this on recent cruises? Is this another Celebrity cutback?

Just checked current cruise and they have it on day 10.   Since you are on a 7 day cruise you may be missing it depending on how they rotate the menu.

Thats fairly cheap of X.... that would be a cutback! Wonder where lobster fits in?

Prime Rib was always on the first night...we used to book the mdr even tho we were in BLU which served the filet.. prefer the prime rib

Our Summit cruise will be 10 nights...would be odd to have that on the last night..if that  menu plan sticks

Not always, but usually on the first night. The Executive Chef may make some changes is the order of the menus. Have had that happen several times.

On our recent Summit Cruise the one that went to Bermuda first the Lobster was served on the night out of Bermuda not on the second Chic night, while on the first cruise Newport first port the Lobster was on the second Chic night.

Beef Tornadoes have indeed been deleted on Evening Chic menu. At one time they were a good size, then size was cut in half and now completely gone. On my recent 14 day SIL cruise Chicken Kiev and Chicken Cordon Bleu were also absent. The Maitre D' told me that they too have been eliminated. Guess someone has to pay for the new builds and renovations.

Anyone know when the app should be correct?  We have Qsine booked for the first night. If they are serving prime rib in the MDR I would cancel.

When you get onboard. Every Celebrity Cruise I have been on Prime Rib is served the first night. They want to make a good impression. That is why I always turn down the discount on Specialty restaurants they give the first night since I like their prime rib.

I would certainly turn it down too if they are serving prime rib.

We were on the Summit in June and they still had what Celebrity calls "Prime Rib" and also lobster night.  That being said, folks who are used to eating real Prime Rib and decent lobster would be disappointed with both of those entrees.   Our particular cruise did stop at both Boston and Bar Harbor...where DW and I were happy to enjoy real Maine Lobster (as opposed to the so-so warm water lobster tails served on the ship.   So here is an interesting test question for fellow cruisers.  If you went to a land restaurant and they served "prime rib" similar to what you get on Celebrity (or most other cruise lines) would you be happy and return to that restaurant?  As to "warm water lobster tails" it would be hard to find that product in most restaurants north of the Mason Dixon line.  When it comes to lobster tails, cold water lobster tail is the gold standard in terms of both flavor and texture.  As to Prime Rib, what we get in a decent restaurant is much larger, far more tender, and has much better flavor then what they serve on Celebrity and most other cruise ships.  In fact, having cruised on far more then 100 cruises all over the world I have never had anything close to what I consider decent Prime Rib on any of those cruises.  Even the best alternative restaurants have not served decent Prime Rib.  On Celebrity you can certainly go to Murano and get darn good Chateaubriand, but you will not even find Prime Rib on the menu.  And Murano makes a very tasty lobster tail entrée....but you will not find whole Maine lobster in that venue or anywhere else on Celebrity.

I would agree with the lobster, but the cut of prime rib we got last month on Equinox was quite good.  tender, tasty, a nice medium rare and not all fat.

In our opinion both the prime and lobster are very good. We are always glad to see both on the MDR menu.

I am glad I did surf and turf with the beef wellington on lobster night.

I've never tried the lobster but the prime rib on Celebrity is similar to the prime rib that I've had at the free buffet at casinos.  Really not that good.

Guess we've been lucky.  Have had good luck with the Prime Rib..Lobster is so so...But everything  about meals on Celeb is relative and sometimes hit or miss.

Still better than  Royal C...

I was surprised to get Maine lobster on our cruise to Alaska on the Solstice.  It was nothing like what they  call lobster being served  in the Caribbean.

The prime rib we had in Blu on the last evening of our cruise on Reflection was quite good (tender, well seasoned, cooked to the proper temperature I ordered, and not fatty). I'd not be disappointed with it if it were served to me in a high end, land based restaurant.

Just off the Equinox.  Prime rib was available on first night.   Ordered a triple thick cut,  bone in, medium rare, and it was delicious.  Cooked to perfection.  😀👍

Good luck and enjoy your cruise (and Prime Rib).   😁

What restaurant did you have that prime rib option?

In the main restaurant.   What was nice is on first night the dress code was relaxed.  So I was not embarrassed about my mess and being so slovenly with au jus dripping down my tee shirt and cargo shorts.

Enjoy the cruise, and with your Prime Rib.👍
