My TA forwarded her 3FF email from Princess which includes the voyage list although no prices.

3 for FREE OneSource Voyage List.xlsx 229.9 kB · 116 downloads

I hope that's not the complete list.... our 12 day British Isles cruise in May, 2021 isn't on there..  😞

Our June 2020 Alaska cruise is on there, but unless the base fare goes down, I don't think it will be worth it for us to switch from the booking we did under sip and sail.... We could live without the alcohol, but cannot live without the soda and coffee package... if I add that on and take away the credit for the gratuities and OBC, we are only paying $86 total for the upgrade to the PBP.  Since we are booked in a mini-suite, I don't think the free upgrade would apply to us... I will still check the prices next week and see....

Sigh. As was my concern, the 3 for Free promo is now nonrefundable deposit. I know, there are alternate refundable deposit fares if I call Princess, yada yada, but that just makes it a PITA. The last time I called Princess I knew more than the rep. I just want to be able to book online like the good old days with a refundable deposit.

We took advantage of a sale a few months back for free flight and OBC.  We jumped on it and ended up with free flights to LAX, free hotel room (using CC points), and $1500 OBC.  15-day cruise to Hawaii in November.  One of the better deals we've received on a promotion.  The free drink package deals never agreed with us so we avoid those promotions.  If you look at the price of the cruise and what's being offered, you are going to pay a higher price to cover the promotions.  We thought we got a good deal on this upcoming cruise.  Looking for one in January....

When you a book a nonrefundable deposit 1.5 years out, a lot can happen to prevent you from going. For instance, women of child bearing age can get pregnant, and travel insurance doesn’t usually cover pregnancy as a reason for canceling, despite cruise lines not allowing pregnant ladies past 24 weeks!

I question your TA, how would they know this.  I doubt even Princess employees would be privy to this.  Princess would just start doing it, not make mention of the fact because it would draw too many angry responses.

You question how my TA would know this?  An email received from John Chernesky Senior Vice President,  North America Sales, Princess Cruises.  Do you think Princess employee John is privy to the voyage list which he provided to TAs?

I don’t understand why you think releasing the voyage list would “draw too many angry responses?  Princess sent the voyage list to TAs as an advance notice to show their clients to generate sales when If begins on 9/3...it’s called marketing.

See the voyage list box at the top of this screenshot of John’s email?  By clicking on it in the email it provided the voyage list I posted.  You’re skeptical about the voyage list being accurate but it came directly from Princess. 🙄

Hopefully your cruise will be included when the 3FF offer is available for booking because sometimes there are mistakes in the early information provided by Princess.

This may be true sometimes, but not always,  We booked a cruise the day it opened up with the launch fare, then rebooked later during Sip and Sail for the same price, plus got the drink package, free gratuities, OBC, and photo credit, for the same price.  No brainer. I check prices regularly and haven't seen our specific cabin category priced lower than we currently have it booked.

Thanks for this information, question from a new Princess cruiser.  Is  a Premium Balcony excluded from the cabin upgrade?  From what I read it seems to only apply to regular balcony rooms, am I reading this correctly?  Thanks!

I believe that you’re correct.

My current 3FF booking didn’t include the top interior category (IA) as a free upgrade.  We were able to use 3FF to book that category for slightly more than other categories...about $20 more.  I don’t have any experiences with a Premium Balcony category but would think that might cost more like it did for my IA interior cabin.

No one will know for sure until pricing comes out next week, but using the Landmark sale as a guide, there is, in my opinion, a huge difference in pricing.  I'm targeting a 10 day Caribbean cruise for December '20.  The travel agency I use has refundable and nonrefundable pricing on their site.

Here are some examples shown in pp rates

Balcony BD. No refund 1410.   Refund 1870

CC mini.                           2159.                2619

For two passengers, that's a good 800 plus difference.

Why not? The old thread may have loads of important info but it may or may not be pertinent to the upcoming promotion.

My reply was to Rinkrat 10 ... in the very xhort thread now brought here.  There was nothing there that had not already been treated here ... it had maybe 2 replies.

If you apply a Future Cruise Deposit, do you lose that if it's a non-refundable deposit booking?

Yes you would. My TA checked with Princess. Today I booked the SKY for Nov 30th 2020 using FCC but I paid the $28.50pp to upgrade to a refundable fare. We can re-fare our cabins if the 3F3 works out as a better deal. At the moment we have $280pp OBC with the current promo....we shall see!

I booked a 15 day Hawaii Cruise in Feb 2021 under landmark and for Balcony (BE) the difference between refundable and non-refundable was $25.  I cruise solo but am paying double occupancy so I'm not sure if that would be $25/person and I'm paying for one or $12.50/person and I'm paying for 2.

So looks like there could be quite a bit of variation depending on the cruise.

at that price though it was worth the extra to have a refundable deposit for me
