Getting to Elite via Casino Play

It wouldn't surprise me, but I doubt that anybody outside the Princess puzzle palace knows what the "rules" are.  In fact, I would not be surprised if the "rules" change regularly.

As a CCL shareholder and a regular customer, I am in favor of any program that encourages people to spend their money in a ship's casino.

Is this possible?  Have been told that someone I know has been moved from Platinum to Elite purely because they are a big spender in the Casino.

There's a Super Secret Elite level that you can be the first to unlock, if you up the pace on your gambling.  Trust me on this.

Thanks for the responses.  Suppose whatever way you spend your money, you can progress up the loyalty levels.  Never spent a dime in the casinos but we have sure spent a lot of money on cruises over a long time to get to Elite.  Presume that if you lose more than you win, you get to Elite more quickly 😉😂

Or....you can take travel agent classes through Princess and become a commodore/elite and never have to take a single cruise.  🙄

Why not just be a big spender and go on more cruises?  🤔

Exactly.  I would certainly get more enjoyment and relaxation spending my money on cruises with my wife than losing all that much money in a casino by myself.  Might not have a wife after that escapade!!

2nd that motion .Besides ,with over 39 years of selling products to Las Vegas hotels & Casinos --now retired -- you learn a thing or 2 bout the gaming business . It is all one sided ,THEIRs  . Solution NEVER be a sucker & keep your money in your pocket --  you are way ahead of all those losers

PS ,we also own shares in CCL

How? That might be something I would like to do.....

Not necessarily the Elite, but the Travel Agent part.

The existence of a secret program to elevate status has been rumored but never confirmed.  I just keep on cruising, two to three per year, mostly on Princess and Celebrity, and don't worry about it.

The biggest Elite benefit to me is the free internet minutes, and that isn't worth losing lots of money in the casino for!  I don't go to the Elite parties, I don't use on-board laundry, I don't want them sending "canapes" to my cabin to stink it up, ….  Oh, I forgot, the free upgrade of the travel insurance is worth having, too.

free internet minutes is a platinum level benefit … that carries over to the next level, just like all other platinum benefits

I thought something was fish when I saw a passenger's "Plutonium" card. Now I know...

Our last cruise was our first as Elite. My wife sent out some laundry. One item she sent out was a pair of brown corduroy women's pants. What came back was a pair of bluejeans. The sizing label said 24" x 29" Skinny. Trust me, this is not my wife's size. 🙄 There was either a very small woman or a young girl on the ship. I wonder if she got my wife's pants and what she thought when she saw the size. It took several days to get the correct item back. She also sent out a dress to be "cleaned" - not washed. They didn't get the spot off the front. Not a good first experience with laundry service. I think we will most likely just stick with self-service laundry.

I have had only 1 bad issue with laundry but that might be enough.  I sent my blue jeans and navy socks to the laundry along with a bunch of other underwear. My blue socks came back bleached out and so did my jeans. I turned in my socks to PSD and they forwarded them to the laundry service who cleaned them again and got even more blue out. They're now sorta weird pinkish brown. So I took them back down to PSD and I was given $8. Actually that's plenty for me to replace the socks. As far as the jeans go I washed them with a brand new pair of navy jeans w/vinegar and the color recovered. It's just a little bit frustrating that I think the only thing I can send to them is underwear.

How do you take a travel agent class through Princess & what's involved/cost?

I don't know specifically about Princess but a quick Google search turns up Cruise Lines International Association, Inc. (CLIA). If you are serious about becoming a cruise TA you may want to check them out.

There are a few very active TA's that post here alot on the Princess board.

I am surprised nobody is chiming in on this.

If you google Commodore status on Princess there is lots of info for the Princess Academy.

Here is a link. Good luck.

What am I missing? This appears to be some randomness inserted in the wrong thread. No idea.
