Royal follows Cancels cruises for 30 days

Allures drydock has not been postponed.  They said over 100 contractors boarded in Barcelona today.  It may be scaled back.  Explorers was cancelled.

Nothing has been posted yet to any of the travel agent websites for Royal; the news is so new I doubt if your agent has any additional knowledge yet. Most Royal employees don't even know what's going on at this point.

Your TA is basing that on conjecture at this point.  Also a TA and nothing official has been released.

So is MSC.  They're not sailing for 60 days.  100% refund or 125% FCC.

 

Problem is, when I look forward to rebook, the price on the rooms in the YC has really gone up.  I could cry.

This should be interesting to watch for a while.  We had two cruises booked for Spring Break.  I had a feeling it would be canceled and waited to see what they would offer.  Sounds like that was a good idea.  Hopefully by mid week next week they will figure out what they are going to offer and I won't be on the phone forever.  I used a gift cert on one cruise so I'm sure that will add something to the mix that they won't be able to figure out. 🙂

 

Anyone know if the casino will move offers they applied to a canceled cruise to another?

They will. I would think they just feel their systems would be overwhelmed  handling the volume of 60 days of cancellations and opted for the shorter 30 day volume of affected passengers. The processing time for the future cruise credits will be more efficient with just 30 days.

I would think if they cancel they have no option but to give refunds vs. FCC. I’m certainly no expert, but I think that’s how it works. I am sure it will be clear pretty soon (although I see nothing on the Royal website and it still allows me to get into the cruise planner and everything for our cruise on the 21st)

Whatever they do, expecting accurate answers today is probably unreasonable.  Like a few said above, wait a few days until they get their act together.  If you have shore excursions, dining reservations, drink pkg pre-paid, etc., go into your reservations now and cancel.  Those will get credited back to your credit card, unless you paid with OBC.  That is one less thing you'll have to worry about.

There have been a few reports from people that have called club royal and offers have not been moved.

Thank you I think we'd given up going anyway 😒 due to fly from Dublin to Miami I'm guessing the President will ad UK & Ireland to the list
