Rare h20skibum Posted February 18, 2023 #86227 Share Posted February 18, 2023 Adding to the concerts discussion. I think the last one we went to was Paul McCartney, and it was one of the best. It was an amazing show.
Rare h20skibum Posted February 18, 2023 #86228 Share Posted February 18, 2023 According to my email, I see that Primanti Bros. is staring a slice of pizza a day Club. For $9.99 a month, you can get a slice every day of the month. I can say that I have never gone there to order a pizza, when they have such good sandwiches. Somehow, the pizza slice they use in the ad doesn’t look appetizing. Maybe if I miss Sorento’s, I may have to try it. 😂 1

Amazing performer. Freddie Mercury would have been amazing as well I’m sure. So sad they’re both gone now.

I was fascinated by him from the age of 14. My son use to live in Brixton London until recently, where he was a local boy. There was a large mural of him there in his ziggy days
Rare aussielozzie18 Posted February 18, 2023 #86234 Share Posted February 18, 2023 Hot Saturday in Sydney today. Almost 100F until a wild storm came through tonight as we were leaving for the cinema. Will need to clean up the garden tomorrow. Some colour today courtesy of the Fleurs De Ville at the Royal Botanical Gardens and the new wing of the Art Gallery of NSW.

Every time that you post pictures of Sydney, I want to immediately jump on a plane and go there. It looks like such a beautiful and interesting city. 8

Nice surprise. We went to see Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Publix parking lot in Windemere last night. Had dinner at Piesano's in that area.. Great service, awful food. (I know it's subjective, so not discouraging anyone).

Tonight watched Avatar - the way of the water at the cinema. It just happened that the time slot that suited us was 3D. Anyone else seen this sequel? We enjoyed it. The underwater visuals were stunning and the action was good. If you liked the first movie, you would like this one. We saw it in 3D a few weeks ago. Was a very long movie but didn't feel that long once done. Agree well done. Great pics from Sydney, it is a great city one I hope to get to some day.

Whether you like island / country music or not, he is a great performer and crowd-pleaser. 🌴🏖️ Probably the most famous person I saw in concert was John Lennon. Madison Square Garden, NYC. I was a young teenager. It was called the One to One concert and I was able to go as I was a volunteer with the mentally disabled. "Imagine" all the people.... 🎸 🎶 ☮️ When I am in the car I probably listen to No Shoes Radio on XM more than any other music. The Coffee House is probably second. Chesney just has some really good music.

Rare Momof3gurlz Posted February 18, 2023 #86243 Share Posted February 18, 2023 Concerts. I haven’t been to a ton, but a few good ones. My first was Elvis Presley at the Cow Palace in Calif in 1970. I was only 13 at the time but my Mom was a big fan and took me along. I don’t recall much about the music, just all the screaming women and the panty throwing 😂. I’ve also seen Three Dog Night, Barry Manilow, Queen, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, Aerosmith with ZZ Top opening for them, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Earth, Wind & Fire.

We were raised on Waylon...so much so that I recently listened to songs I hadn't heard in 40+ years and still sang along word for word.

He was with Warren Zevon, which was sad in retrospect. Pablo Cruise. For pure stage showmanship, but not music, I thought Kiss and The Tubes put on fun shows, with fireworks and theatrics. I thought Deep Purple was stupid with the instrument breaking. Rod Stewart had a sexy wiggle. Grateful Dead were always fun. Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa at the Circle Star, Steve Miller. Rolling Stones. Boz Skaggs on NYE. There were a whole bunch, too many to list, and no one really cares. 😄 Journey, Boston, Kansas, The Outlaws, Eddie Money, Elvin Bishop, The Who, AC/DC, Kenny Loggins. San Francisco, Winterland, Fillmore and other Bay Area venues are music stops for many, many performers. Besides Kenny Chesney, the last concert we went to was Kings of Leon and Cage the Elephant. It was too loud. We saw Jimmy Buffett a few times, always very entertaining, a few you just mentioned were on our rock and romance cruises including Pablo Cruise and Boz Scaggs others on our cruises were Michael McDonald, America, Rita Coolidge, Maria Muldaur, Steven Bishop, Mellisa Manchester, Foreigner , Todd Rundgren, B J Thomas, Guess Who , Jefferson Starship and many others.
