What do you do with the bagged leaves? Garbage pickup?

Our city picks up yard waste, but it has to be in toters or biodegradable bags.

For our neighbor’s, we drag them on a tarp to a wooded area behind his house.  The owner of the wooded area has given him permission to put them there.

I know I posted a couple weeks ago that my daughter’s cat, Lucy, passed away.   It was the only pet my grandkids had ever had, and they took it very hard.

My grandson probably took it the hardest.  He went from “I don’t think I want another pet.” to…”It will probably take me a couple weeks to love another pet.”

Meet Ricky Ricardo

And evidently, Ricky has managed to shorten that 2 week estimate, for my grandson to love a new pet, to one day.

I like some of the tiny bbq places in Dallas, my favorite was sunny Bryan’s they served until they ran out of food about 3 pm , you would see Mercedes parked next to 30 year old pickup trucks.

Sailing on Beyond in 4 weeks in a sky suite, the outdoor retreat is fantastic on edge class , although my sky suite might seem small my last 2 celebrity cruises were royal suite and penthouse ( move up on penthouse)

I remember having great bbq at Sunny Bryan's on Campbell in Richardson.  When I first moved to Plano, there was one in Macy's in the Stonebriar Mall near the bedding dept.  How weird is that?

I know!  I’m currently on the Brilliance and a bartender called me by name the first time I walked up.  Haven’t sailed with him since 2018. 🙀

Isn't it amazing???

I teeter between thinking they remember me because I'm so nice (and tip cash with each drink) or they remember me because I'm so outrageous!!!

Tonight is the last night of our impromptu Tuscan Holiday adventure.  While we missed our Holy Land/Greece cruise, we really did enjoy these last 12 days of visiting the Tuscany areas.  Everything happens for a reason and I don’t regret the sudden change in plans.  It gave us the opportunity to do this land tour which we otherwise probably would not have done.  We will get to the Holy Land another time.  So, tomorrow we will take the train to Civitavecchia and try for Odyssey 2.0.  We did the Abbott eMed test yesterday and both are negative so we should be good to go.  We will see you onboard.  Until then, here’s a few more pictures…

Maybe people don't post on roll calls anymore because there aren't Meet and Mingles anymore?

I think it's because so many people use a popular Social Media Website/App and find roll call groups there.  LOTS of people all over the world use that particular Social Media Website/App, whereas a very small percentage of people know what Cruise Critic is.

In 1983 Toby and I bought our first house after 16 years of living in apartments.

The house was owned by an Architect who had to sell because he was relocating to NJ.We paid $80,000 which was a lot at that time.It was a 4 story house with two full bathrooms and one half bathroom. The area of the house was absolutely beautiful and we had wonderful neighbors.By 2000 we were the only people living on the block from those who lived there in 1983.

We kept in touch with several neighbors by phone and e-mail but aside from an occasional lunch or dinner with one or two couples were last together with everyone that we knew close to 20 years ago.A few weeks ago Toby reached out to those we are in contact with and suggested a group get together .

They are all coming to my house tomorrow. Some are coming from NJ and the others from various parts of NY.I have been looking forward to this reunion for so long and it is finally here.

Lenny, that sounds like an awesome get-together.  Enjoy!

Next Sunday we board Explorer of the Seas for our B2b cruise, thanks to 2 casino vouchers for a free cruise.

If you see Lahar, Allan, Andreo, Nover, Gener, Alban, or Kimberly in a bar, tell them that Debbi says hello!  (If you want to see Kimberly absolutely LOSE IT, ask her to show you how Debbi juggles.)

I just got off a couple days ago after four weeks on board, and even though I'm still going to be cruising for another month and a half (currently on Symphony), I was sad to say goodbye to those wonderful folks.

Today we celebrated Christina and Brandon with a Halloween themed baby shower honoring their baby girl to be.

The outpouring of friendship and gifts was so special , there was not an empty seat to be had.  In addition all the baby gifts sent to their house, they are taking home two full trucks. (Ram and Silverado). Along with  2 dogs.

The food and venue was was top notch.

So excited for them. Due date December 17.

But. If she comes early on December 15 it would be the perfect birthday gift for me.

I'm lucky enough to have a small strip of wood in my backyard that I blow the leaves into. I spent an hour today blowing leaves and when I was done, the yard was covered with newly-fallen leaves.  And the trees aren't even half done shedding.

That's okay, I'd rather do 6 or 8 one hour blowing rather than one 8 hour chore.  Often times, I'll alternate between blowing the leaves and using the mower to mulch them into fine particles that eventually just disappear.

We blow, rake and mulch our leaves with mower.  We have yard waste pick up every Monday starting in the spring thru beginning of December.   I put some of the mulched ones in my composter and put some others in a small gully at the rear of our yard behind the shed and garden beds.

The very last batch around Thanksgiving I put a thick layer of mulched leaves on top of our garden beds, rose beds, etc.

Arent you glad you asked😁

The ones we rake we put in trash cans for yard waste collection.

What a nice baby shower!

So you are saying you want her born on my son’s birthday?  He wasn’t due till January, but came early enough for that tax deduction for the year.
