The only hiccup is after having the air con almost rebuilt by our jag specialist, it broke down the first day. Yesterday (friday) it got very hot. OK on the motorways with the top down, but almost impossible hot in heavy traffic once we got to Geneva.

The drive had beautiful scenery,  getting more mountainous and with lots of tunnels through the hills and mountains

Also our hotel, confirmed on Booking.com was overbooked and the hotel had moved us to a sister hotel further from the centre. We refused, got refunded and rebooked another hotel. Annoyed because we didn't find out till we got to the first hotel and they had our contact details.

Anyway once settled in we went out and enjoyed the sights of Geneva and the lake. If you zoom in you can just make out snow on the furthest mountains

Plan today is to get to Chamonix for lunch and to Aosta in Italy for the night. Weather still around 30c but storms expected this afternoon

Nice photos Sue.

Your car looks lovely, annoying about the air con not working after being rebuilt.

We are home. Linda is doing good and the dogs are already wanting to live on her.  She will take it very easy today. I’m sure the pain will come later after the nerve block wears off.

Thank you for all the prayers, well wishes and concern. I read her a lot of your replies and it made her smile with happiness. My family is the best here!!

Glad to see you back! Wish you an easy and smooth recovery!

Lizzie looks concerned for her and Charlie is giving the looks "now now easy with the pictures"! Sorry Charlie. we do need a picture or two😁

@Sea Dog Greg, glad to see that Linda got through the surgery okay.  Sorry for the late comments, but I am playing catch up today.

She will learn to do a lot by using her left hand.  It will take a while, but it will get better.  When I fractured my right shoulder, I had to learn how to do everything with my left arm.  I was just glad that none of my vehicles had a manual shift at that time.

Still, to this day, I will use my left for certain tasks, and can easily switch between the two now.

Our road trip is going well. We made good time on Thursday and got to Dijon by 7.30pm. So about 12 hours on the road altogether. Loved Dijon, old but full of life. Great hotel five min walk from the centre. Found a lively square with lots of restaurants and music for dinner.

Next day we had a quick look around the town and on the road again

It’s funny how animals can sense when a human is hurting. Lizzy, Charlie and even Kylar the cat have been loving on her a lot and staying very close to her. It’s very neat to see.

Thanks Mark! She is getting better at using her left hand for things.

Sorry to hear about the car.

We got burned by Booking.com and will never ever book a hotel through them again. It seems to happen a lot with them. Never again.

Yep us too. We have gotten burned twice booking through 3rd party sites. I will always book directly with the hotel even if I have to pay a little bit more.

Speaking from a lot of experience, I'm always booking directly, and even pay less. Usually you have to sign up free for their club, and.... presto ... better rates.

That’s one thing we need to do. We are Hilton Honors members but we do not belong to any other loyalty programs at other chains. We need to be better at doing that.

Also, I'm very good at getting "senior rates" at the big chains. Some start at 62, others -- at 65. We now "qualify" for both....

Living where we live... free cancellation for us is a must.

Finally watched the final two episodes of Below Deck Sailing last night and have some thoughts.

I have no respect or even like Gary anymore. What a narcissist self loathing baby. He borders on being a sexual predator. Below Deck producers need to get rid of him but as long as Captain Glennis on the show he will probably stay. I am also tiring of Daisy but not Colin. I felt sorry for him being put in the situation of being in a three way.

I really loved Chef Ilisha and stew Lucy. They were both sweethearts. I thought the food looked really good.

They do need a new boat however. It’s starting to show her age. All the breakdowns and everything make a change necessary.

Looking forward to the reunion show with Andy Cohen. That should be drama filled.

You know I don’t think we have ever asked about that. Thank you for the tip.

Well, we got back home, from our week at Myrtle Beach, last night.  I will have to write a few updates on food, flights, and hotel, but things are busy at home today.

Meanwhile, Susan brought home this souvenir.

She is no longer a Covid virgin.

How’s she feeling so far?  Hopefully as best as possible.

Oy, Susan is the 3rd person catching Covid in the last 2 days that I know of...

I thought that, finally, this "pest" is a thing of the past 😢

Hopefully, Susan got cut some slack, being a virgin and all 😉, and she's getting the milder version 🤞

Oh poor Susan.  Hope she gets better fast.

OK UPDATE from Columbia……They are pretty sure the pressure and heart rate problem are a part of transplant problems.  A good percentage of them get this but usually much earlier after the transplant.  Twenty years later is rare but Charlie never does anything normal😳. It has something to do with what gets done during the actual transplant operation.  Things get snipped etc.  they are hoping increasing meds will solve this🤞

So sorry. I hope Susan’s symptoms are mild. She did a good job avoiding it for such a long time.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the meds will help. All part of the process. Give Charlie a hug for us.
