Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

The Celebrity status match worked for me.  Downloaded the Celebrity app, signed in with my Royal credentials, and I immediately showed as Elite Plus (with 0 club points since I've never sailed Celebrity).

I did the same.  I am now zenith. I did already have 390 points from when I did sail on X.

Today’s port was Kotor, Montenegro.  Started out with some rain but by the time we left it was beautiful.  This is an absolutely stunning place and my pictures don’t really do justice!  IMG_5593.thumb.jpeg.208e1a1709f74a92ce34fa8d4db17088.jpegIMG_5651.thumb.jpeg.788e1ebefcad2a4c203165ccba905191.jpegIMG_5675.thumb.jpeg.99f8e31c0a44ec864f8470554baafbfa.jpeg

We were just a couple of cruises from elite plus anyway, not sure if any perks we would use since we always book suites anyhow, don’t believe I ever used an elite perk . Rccl definitely has better perks in general.

Had a farewell lunch at bar- bills there beef on wick is about same size as our New York City pastrami on rye and melts in your mouth had the mandatory Buffalo wings also. Just finished our 20 min walk in LaGuardia to our new terminal to get back to Dallas , getting too old for some of this. Luckily Shelaghs finger is doing better . Had a nice dinner with friends and family in an Italian restaurant last night , they had Stags leap Cabernet for 72 which is a total bargain. Food and drink in Buffalo is extremely cheap.

totally loved Kotor extremely beautiful walled city filled with friendly people and cats .

Do you like the pinnacle benefits better or the zenith ones you will be getting?
People on the Celebrity boards think the zenith benefits are better and most are poo pooing the pinnacle ones. I cannot give my opinion because we are not pinnacle or zenith, but we believe that compared to other cruise lines, Royal's benefits cannot be beat (at least at the D plus level).

At first when I looked, i didn't see any big benefit. But I went to X's website, and Zenith includes free wifi and drink package. It says it includes lounge access, but we don't normally go to lounges, and the Pin free deinks are enough for me.  I agree that the lower level benefit looks better for Royal, but the top looks pretty even.   And I saw a youtube video tour of the newer ships,  and I would like to give it a shot.

Happy Birthday to Jack and Ryan!

I remember the day my daughter received her driver's license.  Jack and I knew there would be some sleepless nights in our future!  May your Jack and all your other grands who drive, have safe journeys.

I was glad to read that you came through your laser procedure with flying colors.  You must be relieved it's over.

Thank you Bonnie!🥰  I was surprised (I don't know why?) when Jack asked my daughter if they could go out last night when it was dark.  He did really well, and was the first time he drove at night.  He applied for a job in Toms River, having to do with his passion, and heard back from them that they wanted to set up a day to see how he'd do.  If he gets it, he will have to drive back and forth which is about a half hour drive without Summer traffic.

I can't believe how quickly and without feeling anything at all, that the laser was done!😊

Maryanne that is a big relief!

You're not kidding, Jennifer!

The video you posted on the other site of Kotor was gorgeous!  😉  I've never been there.  We would've, if Covid hadn't canceled our Greek Island cruise🤨

Happy that it worked for me also.  I am D+ on Royal, but was only Elite on Celebrity.   Nice to have the extra benefits of Elite + on Celebrity.  I am only "select" with my actual Celebrity points, so this is a nice upgrade.

You will love the newer X ships.

Lenoard wanted to represent the NY Rangers by wearing this bandera.   LGR!

Knowing they needed all the help they could get,  he tried scoring with his version of the puck.

Alas, it was in vein.  Rangers lose 3-2. One game away from elimination 😧

It was a very mild Friday evening in Sydney, so decided to head into the city for a look at some of the light installations for this year’s Vivid 33BAFFA5-6805-4339-9710-3CE75AC858C6.thumb.jpeg.9fc17e1943757349ccd60740232c53bd.jpeg

Only so much walking can be done in one night.  Heading back in again next weekend to see the light installations  at the Botanical Gardens and the drone show for which the Vivid organisers are expecting huge crowds as it will the King’s Birthday long weekend here.

I find that fascinating on how technology is used to project those images on buildings. Must be some pretty powerful projectors to light it all up. Beautiful and thank you for the pictures.

It's going to take a long time to clean up our city. There is tree and/or fence damage at nearly every house in our neighborhood, as well as in the medians on the main streets. We only saw a couple of homes with roof damage, which is surprising considering how many large mature trees were destroyed. We lost one of ours.
