Makes some sense if that is the case. However they appear to be moving on block (Reflection Silhouette Equinox and Summit) and heading for Havana Cuba WHY? Algebralovr Posted July 31, 2020 #127 Share Posted July 31, 2020 (edited) Got a friend on board one of the ships. He said they are headed south of Cuba to get away from the storm, then will be headed back to the Bahamas after it is gone. I had the opportunity to cruise there twice with fathom and loved every moment of it. But when a storm is threatening the East Coast, ships will often go south of Cuba and hand between Cuba and Mexico to shelter from the storms. EnthDegree Posted September 13, 2020 Author #130 Share Posted September 13, 2020 Thought we'd update the positions of our ships. Very little movement. Just a temporary shift last month for our CoCo Five as they dodged the hurricanes but they are now back on their stations again. Apex has been conducting sea trials off St Nazaire and is now at anchor. Eclipse and Millenium still paired up off San Diego and Connie and Infinity still wandering slowly around the Aegean Sea off Greece. Flora and Xpedition remain off the Galapagos. We feel a bit sorry for the last X ship we were on - Solstice. She is a long way from her sisters and is just north east of Singapore!
D C Posted September 13, 2020 #131 Share Posted September 13, 2020 The Infinity and Connie should be headed across the pond in the not too distant future given their late-Nov restart dates (as of now). I would imagine they'd take on a crew over there first though.
EnthDegree Posted September 23, 2020 Author #132 Share Posted September 23, 2020 Update on the new baby:- Apex has sailed from St Nazaire, France on sea trials with Captain Dimitris Kafetzis at the helm and she is currently docked at Southampton cruise terminal, England.

EnthDegree Posted September 24, 2020 Author #135 Share Posted September 24, 2020 Celebrity Apex has now moved from Southampton Cruise Terminal and is now anchored off Poole, Dorset. She is in good company as also anchored off the Dorset coast are Aurora, Jewel of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. We understand that she is provisioned and crewed and ready to sail trans-Atlantic to arrive in Miami in about two weeks time.

I was booked on that cruise. Barcelona-Ft Lauderdale. I could really use a cruise now 😞 Maybe soon they can work out some Caribbean itineraries with viable safety measures in place. EnthDegree Posted December 2, 2020 Author #150 Share Posted December 2, 2020 Fantastic news for the future of cruising. The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is to be rolled out starting this month. Priority will go to health care workers/NHS staff and care home residents; then over 80's; then over 65's - so we fall into the third tranche which should be available before Easter. Bring it on.
