How will you spend the money you are not spending on cruising with Princess?

Will you take a longer cruise when it is safe to do so?  Will you upgrade your cabin?  Or try a different cruise line...one with fewer COVID-19 problems?

Will you spend it on a different type of vacation.  One you can drive too?  Will you be willing to fly?

Will the money go to home and yard improvement since you expect to be staying home more often?

Or will the funds go to offset additional expenses or financial losses due to Covid.

I’m not sure yet what I will do, but I’m leaning toward home improvements.

We are not willing to travel outside the good ol' US of A until there is a viable vaccine in use worldwide.

When we get our refund for our cancelled April 4 cruise on the Ruby, we are going to take a road trip and I'm planning on a cross-country Harley ride.

We love cruising, but it's not a necessity.

We did a forced cross country road trip after our last cruise since it was no longer safe for us to fly, according to CDC.  It was our longest road trip and  it had been many years since we have made a road trip as a vacation.  The drive wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be and we made in just over 4 days.  In some ways the amount of freedom we had was exhilarating.  We decided where and when to stop and for how long.  And I knew I wouldn’t  be locked in the car against my will for 2 weeks or forced to drive in endless circles.  We have been talking ever since about doing a long road trip to visit the National Parks in the US and maybe Canada.

One danger for the cruise industry is that people like us may revisit other forms of vacation and find we prefer them to cruising.  Even if it just reduces cruise frequency, it will hurt the cruise industry.

With a land cruise on Amtrak's Southwest Chief #3 in a private bedroom CHI to LAX RT.  Much more civilized than crammed into a plane.

DH bought a new roomy SUV two years ago. Since he did, I’ve been advocating heavily for some road trips to national parks. I’ve been in all 50 states, but would love seeing some of my favorite places again. We were already considering returning to Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio (my idea of heaven) for hiking, staying in a cabin.

Oh, and a hot tub. I really want a hot tub, which requires some major landscaping changes.

We have a B2B2B booked that I can't possibly imagine being able to take. That means a fair amount of money that's not gong to be spent on cruising. We're getting some siding replaced and the house painted. We need a to work on the front yard which is currently just tilled up dirt. I need a new roof soon and my wife wants a new car. GAH!  I'm not saving that much by not cruising! I guess we'll just see what happens. If things open up again we will definitely be taking a cross-country camping trip to score more national parks. We were scheduled for a trip to snag Joshua Tree, Saguaro, and Petrified Forest. Those are ones we don't have yet. We would also be revisiting Grand Canyon and Death Valley. That would put us somewhere around 40 national parks. (Too lazy to check the actual number at the moment.) That trip was squelched by this stoooooooooopid virus.  We're watching the camping closures and hoping for at least a short trip to a fairly local spot. It was supposed to open the first of the month but was pushed back until at least the 18th. Keeping our fingers crossed.

RV trips. We had one planned to Canada this summer, but I think we'll stay inside the US for the foreseeable future. Lots of places we haven't seen or would like to see again. Bonus: the cat goes with us on RV trip, which she can't do on cruises.

So far, we're saving the extra money not spent on cruising. We haven't planned our next trip, want to wait and see what opens up when and how it's going. But I doubt a cruise will be on our horizon for awhile. most likely a road trip to somewhere in the USA we haven't been to. It just seems too risky to get on a ship for the foreseeable future. I would hate to be one of those passengers quarantined in my cabin on a ship with a COVID-19 outbreak! It's enough to scare me back onto land.

Live in an apartment.... and everything is good...... could get a bigger TV   lol

All ready retired.. so the covid-19    hasn't had too much effect of that.....

Holidays.... back to road trips..... but more relaxed   drive a couple of days... then stop for a few.....

Still lots of places we would like to see...    would like to go to Perth again but a long drive 3500km each way

We, also, had a Canada RV trip planned for this summer.  In fact, tomorrow was the day we were scheduled to start out........  It's all canceled now.

Just before the virus got bad, bought a new Porsche Cayenne, well oh my. Doing driving trips in North America, albeit we have already seen alot of Canada and the USA. Going to eat and drink and do biscuits and golf.

The foreign travel fund is mostly emptied, so cruises not getting my business.

Here is the thing, I get 365 days of value from my new amazing Porsche, cruising does not deliver that.

With the constant downgrading of the cruising product, it was quite easy to change focus and do land travel.

Cruising is the loser in my household.
