7/22/20: Princess Pauses Operations Again

Cruises in and out of Australia until 10/31/20 and the rest of the fleet until 12/15/20.

Don't think they will do it "soon", give it a month or two and it will be in the next round. More bookings and payments need to be made before they cancel.  I know our cruise will be cancelled soon enough. 😞

The CDC posted yet another RFI on the Federal Register yesterday. With public comment period of 60 days (through September 22, 2020) anyone watching the Federal Register could see this was coming.

Extremely misleading title.  For Princess to pause operations again, it would have had to start operations up.  This is simply an extension of the only "pause."

Not for people who need to plan for what they will or will not do that month.

 

There would be much criticism if Princess waited until after more final payment dates to cancel cruises.

No, I think that we need to know as soon as possible so we don't get caught up in having to make a final payment and then get on the wait list for refunds.

Third cruise cancelled this year. Not rebooking until they can get some kind of plan together instead of waiting for the CDC to get off their behind. This is ridiculous and very frustrating at this point.

So with the "short notice" cancellation and the huge FCC they offered when they canceled Australia on us in March, now what? We want our money back.  Not willing to let them keep thousands for at least another year.

Today, California has more cases than NY.  Thought California had the case numbers down for awhile. Not a good situation across the US.

Wear a mask,keep social distance ,stay home when able, think of others.

I'm thankful that they didn't leave us hanging while final-payment deadlines approached.

 

With the FCC from 3 cancelled cruises, I now know exactly how much cash I'll need to fork over to pay my fall 2021 cruise off in full, and it's a nice low number.

And, of course, another main problem is most people don't wear a mask properly which negates any advantage to wear a mask.

Not a surprise.  They have no plan yet to be able to resume sailing.  They cannot afford to have a outbreak of Covid19 on a Princess ship.  Do not see cruises as we know them restarting until there is a vaccine that is widely available.
