Good morning Rich and thank you kindly for the Daily. I am going to research the wine suggestion. I have a feeling I could buy maybe a thimble full.. Did it show $175 a bottle?

Hi sweet sisters Ann and Denise. What are your plans for the day? Any news on Maui damages?

Hi Roy, thanks for our care list. Sending up prayers right now. Enjoy your walk.

Looks like our landscaper will finish up today, and our screen/storm door will be installed on the patio door. Everything should be done by the time we get back from hospital. Thanks for your prayers and blessings (again!)

Ya'll take care. God Bless and have a great day! Wear your mask. XX

They helped build the nation': San Antonio celebrates history of ...

In 1948, President Harry Truman issued Executive Order 9981 eliminating racial segregation in America's armed forces. The last all-black units were disbanded during the 1950's. Mark Matthews, the nation's oldest living buffalo soldier, died in 2005 at age 111 in Washington, D.C.

Morning Sis! Praying that all goes well today! ❤️

The 2016 vintage is out of my price range, but the 2017 is not too bad. Might need to age a bit more. The wine sounds interesting. Not sure if I have ever had an Austrian wine .

Good morning everyone.  Once again, Rich, thank you for all your hard work.  Prayers for our list and everyone suffering now.  It's a dreary day with storms due in this afternoon.  Rained hard last night with a light show.

I have a question.  I know when you do a collectors cruise you get off and then back on after the ship zero's.  What do you do when you are doing a B2B?  I know many of you are experts at B2B's.

The care list is one of the nicest things on the internet these days.   Thanks for doing this.

Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich! Morning Dailyites & my Sisters! Just trying to stay active today, Joy! A couple of classes, and some pool time - with Bindi walks tossed in for good measure.

Joy, thank you for the info on Buffalo Soldiers. I did not know the history of the term. Did someone say “chocolate”? Love the quote. The wine sounds interesting, but might need to try a more recent vintage.

KK and Joy & Allen - prayers winging their way....

This is my first modern HAL sunrise photo.  It was taken approaching Lerwick, Shetland Islands on July 28, 2011.  Surprisingly, it was about the 17th morning of the trip.  It was foggy just about every morning on my Rotterdam transatlantic.

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  Rich, you're on a roll this week . . . again, you had me at chocolate!  Bless the Buffalo Soldiers, and all non-white soldiers who fought for freedoms.

@summer slope When on a b2b, there are a couple of ways ships handle passengers - you may go to the theatre and stay there with everyone who is continuing on the next segment until the ship zero's out, or you'll be escorted to a waiting area just off the ship and return once a zero count has been taken.  Either way, you'll receive information in your cabin as to the procedure to follow.  It's quite easy, but depending on the time it may take, I suggest you bring reading material.

Another hot day on the "frozen tundra", so we'll be passing on the chimichangas (which I've grown to love), and will grill up some burgers and have them along with a potato salad (the potatoes are baking in the outdoor oven as we speak).

Prayers for everyone who needs them, and even for those of you who don't.  Be safe, stay well.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

I'm going to wax nostalgic today.  In almost 30 years on cruising I've been very lucky that until recently none of my previous ships has been to the scrapyard (despite one close call).  That changed quite suddenly as the former Monarch of the Seas was beached in Aliga less than a week ago and my first traditional cruise ship, the Carnival Fantasy arrived there overnight.

Here's a recap of some of my vintage ships:

Alaska Marine Highway's Matanuska.  Built 1963, sailed 7/29/91, and actually carrying revenue passengers this week.

Carnival Fantasy, built 1990, Sailed 12/18/93 and arrived in Aliga overnight.

Regent Sun, built 1964, sailed 9/4/94, sank on the way to the scrappers 2001

Queen of the North, built 1969, sailed 6/19/95.  Ran aground and sank 3/22/06

Crystal Symphony, built 1995, sailed 4/23/96, still in service

Blount Caribbean Prince, built 1984, sailed 7/28/96, in service for Uncruse as Wilderness Adventure

Rotterdam V, built 1959, sailed 8/8/97, now a hotel in Rotterdam

QE2, built 1969, sailed  10/16/08, now a hotel in Dubai

Blount New Shorham II, built 1980, sailed 9/3/10 as Cruise West Spirit of Columbia, now Admiralty Dream for Alaska Dream Cruises

MS Prinsendam, built 1988, sailed 7/25/11, now MS Amera

and Monarch of the Seas, built 1991, sailed 12/10/12, scrapped 7/22/20

So long without a scrapped ship, then 2 within a week.

Good morning all and a thanks to Rich.  Thanks for the history of the Buffalo Soldiers.  Milk chocolate is definitely a favourite of mine, not of DH so when he bakes cookies it is always with dark chocolate.   It's a glorious sunny day with a lot less humidity.  The virus has closed the sunflower fields this year (No photo ops), sharing pictures from a few years ago.

Good morning everyone.

Thank you for the Daily Report.  I love milk chocolate, and dark chocolate too.

Thanks for the meal suggestion, but I'm going to put beef and broccoli in the crock pot.  I may have to go out and buy more wine.😉

Love those sunflowers @gigianne, thanks.

Sending prayers for everyone on the Care List.

I'm hoping everyone has a good day.  Stay safe.  Stay healthy.

Good morning dear Joy!
First you are always thinking of others!

I so love that about you❤️ Today our Roy’s prayer list is so important! Always is but I will be thinking of you and Allen and hope all goes well for him this am.

To answer your question, Douglas spared Maui and just a lot of high winds and surf!!

Just a lot of clean up of landscaping around our place.

Virtual hugs

Denise😊

Wouldn't turn down milk chocolate, but we are more red wine/dark chocolate type of folks.

After about 35 years, we have finally sold our house in Maplewood, Minnesota (a Saint Paul suburb). It closed yesterday.  I did not want to post until I saw the money in the bank!  It is cold comfort, but the pandemic (and 2 cancelled cruises) gave us the time to get it ready for the market -

Thanks for the Daily, Rich and our morning/afternoon smile 🙂

Milk Chocolate and Chimichangas - yum.  Love the quote of the day and trying for 3 😄

Bit late to the game here.  Physio called to change my appointment to this morning so I was on a tear to get ready and out of here.  The old “hurry up and wait”.

@gigianne love the sunflower pics.

@summer slope - you already got good explanations on the B2B.  Just wanted to add that if you happen to be outside of the U.S. there is usually no need for a 0 count.  The turnaround port is usually treated like any other port for those who on the Collectors or B2B.  (Just in case you are not cruising Caribbean/Panama, etc.)

@Seasick Sailor great news on the completion by your landscaper.  Sounds like your new house will be feeling like “home” very soon 😉

@DeeniEncinitas sorry about the clean up from Douglas.  Thankful that it was not much worse as it could have been.

Another hot humid one here again.  Hope everyone else on the Care list is continuing to improve.  Stay safe and well all.
