Celebrity Reflection - anyone left?

Is there anyway to tell how many cabins are booked on a cruise? We are on the Dec. 4th sailing of the Reflection, and it seems like there is no one left on the MOB, board most everyone has cancelled. We wanted to see if there were enough cabins booked, all things being equal, that it would actually sail.

The answer to your question is to go to one of the X sites or a TA site and count as @gerelmx did .  For us, we are watching to see where the ships are, and every indication is when cruising restarts it will be few ships with a few ports.
we cancelled our 12/5 cruise and our 2/21 cruises are doubtful unless the ship comes over empty from the  Med.

Thank you very much. I was afraid of that. This was a comped cruise through the casino, don't know how or if you can switch cruises.

Either phone and ask or add a new post with an appropriate title like ‘Can you switch comped cruises?’. Telephone lines have been busy so a new post may get you a quicker answer.

Hello.  Long time cruisers but new to this bulletin board.  We are still booked on the Reflection for the Thanksgiving cruise leaving FLL on Nov 23rd.  No word from Royal Caribbean on any cancellations past Oct 31st, but we are apprehensive.  Anyone know where the Reflection is right now?   If they are going to start back up the first of November, we should be hearing rumors of Celebrity rounding up their crew members again to get ready to sail, and repositioning the ship.

Reflection is anchored off Stirrup Cay,  Bahamas.

She somewhere in the Caribbean. Not sure where since they moved ships during the storms.

Thanks, C-Dragons.  That is mildly encouraging that the ship is still in the general area.  We have friends booked on the Reflection for the first scheduled voyage on Nov 2nd to the ABC islands.  That is less than 60 days out, which I thought was their deadline to inform cruisers of trip cancellations.

I don’t believe there is a “deadline” regarding cancellations. Our cruise on Reflection last April was canceled 30 days out. 😉

The big question is: "Why can we see all the empty rooms on our sailing?" Until recently, the number of unsold cabins was a closely guarded secret. We are booked on the December 19th sailing of the Summit from San Juan. The entire second floor has been blocked off. I assume that this is to allow the crew to spread out. It appears that the cabins are only 10% occupied on the remaining floors. There are 48 rooms in the category where we are quartered. Only two rooms are occupied. Which begs the next question: What is the lowest occupancy that is required by Celebrity to make the sailing worthwhile? I'm not asking if this sailing will actually take place. I am well aware of the odds. When does Celebrity throw their hands up in the air and just give up on trying to sail?

Not sure the website will show all the cabins that are actually available.

It is accurate. Per my post #5 there were 733 cabins available on the Celebrity website for this cruise. I also have another TA website that closely verifies the count.

Best of luck if you are booked on this cruise. I think it is incredibly optimistic to think there will be any cruises sailing out of Florida for the rest of 2020. I was pretty optimistic my cruise in January 2021 would sail out of Auckland but it became clear that it was too much of a gamble for us, so we postponed.

The big question for cruising is what countries will be letting Americans in.  Ships are sailing in Europe now that cannot take US citizens. We booked for June 2021 but don't know how much before then (or even June) we'll be able to sail.  And assume many of those cabins listed as not available aren't booked but being held empty.  The lower number of passengers on the ships may make the less crowding in restaurants and public areas a nice change.

I quoted and was responding to a particular post that was specifically mentioning Celebrity's website.

Not everyone has access to a TA's site.

Thanks for quoting me twice though :classic_wink:
