Have you used your FCC yet? If so, on short or long cruises

Somehow I feel fortunate. Weird, huh?

I had a total of 6 canceled.  2 canceled by me as I did not trust an Asian cruise due to timing / full refund. 4 canceled by Princess. Took 5.5 months to get full refund + 50% FCC on 1.Took over 2 months to get 175% FCC on another. Took 4.5 months to get a full refund + 15 OBC on 3rd. Took 2 weeks to get a full refund + 200 OBC on the last one. My complaints over delays got me more OBC. So when I look at it from a distance I've really only paid for 1.

Paid for PNW 3/29/20 - 4/4/20 Oceanview

Getting: 1/4 TA 4/3/21 Balcony + 200 OBC

Alaska 8/9/21 - 8/19/21 Mini-suite + 60 OBC

PNW 4/23/22 - 4/30/22 Balcony + 15 OBC

Although the process could have been more transparent (ie: emailing that "due to work from home anticipate exceptionally long waits") and was frustrating (all notifications had to be found online .... sometimes reading inaccurate info) I'm okay on the other side.

So far, we've only received FCCs from our cancelled October California Coastal. We applied that to our 14 day Quebec to FLL sailing in the fall of 2021. We expect 2 more FCCs from 2 November Caribbean bookings, and we'll apply that to the same booking as well. If our February 2021 sailing gets cancelled, we'll do the exact same thing, and our 14 day sailing will be pretty much paid off, so I'm not worried. What I am worried about is the super cheap VIP casino offer HAL gave us for a Transatlantic.

If they cancel, I don't know what we'll do with their FCC unless they offer us a similar deal.

Our cancelled Tahiti cruise has morphed into 5 cruises (2 Carib cruises soon, Enchanted Spring TA,  Pacific P transpacific and a Tahiti islands cruises next winter). Waiting on cash payments for port fees/taxes and prepaid gratuities and shore ex.

Hopefully P survives to allow us to do the cruises.

Used mine yesterday on a 14 night Mediterranean cruise aboard Enchanted Princess next August.

No additional money required as a deposit and my FCD $200 OBC has been reinstated too.

Automatically or did you have to request it?

I made a kindly request. The poor girl was relieved I was making a booking instead of a refund complaint call she was being inundated with.

Ombud, you are a genius!
how did you manage to get 175% fcc and a full refund alongwith 50% FCC?

When we got home from the Coral, we cancelled our Hawaii cruise that was to be next month.  Princess hadn't cancelled it yet but we had already decided we didn't want to do it with some of the people we booked with.  So we got our FCDs back ($200) immediately.
Then when we got our 225% in FCCs from the Coral sailing fiasco (after about 2 1/2 months) we booked two TA's....one to Iceland and one from Rome (which is a Cruisetour).  Who know's if either will go...one is on the Island and one is on Discovery?
We will not apply the FCCs until final payment so the only thing holding it are FCDs and we would expect they will go right back into our account in the event of cancellations.  🤞

We've had five cruises canceled so far and went through a bit of anxiety while reading all the negativity on this site about bankruptcy and such.  I have another one booked that is in jeopardy for early next year but, have no further cash out of pocket on that one as it's been booked long before CoVid entered the picture.

To top it all off, we took a move over offer on a cruise earlier this year, so that makes six sailings that we missed going on so far this year.  I sure hope next year is a better one for cruises!

The first couple of refunds were more stressful than the latter three.  Just today, I got my FCCs for the latest sailing that was canceled ... so for now, I am completely made whole with the reimbursement options I'd chosen. I opted for the double your deposit option on that latest cancellation, as there wasn't really much cash involved.  Part of it was actually the bonus gift card, which has now been extended through May 2022.  I had read that they haven't done the best job in handling these accurately but, in checking both mine and my DHs captain's circle accounts, it is all there.  Yoohoo!

Now, I've just got to keep an eye out for any new cancellations for early next year.

my FCC on my last cancelation was in my account immediately.  And put on other cruises. I have enough to cover Queensland if the TA & Alaska don't go,  then I'll just have $3500+ in gift cards for later 2022 (already spent if no more cancelations)

We got 175% fcc for a canceled coastal. We've booked two coastals for late 2021 and early 2022. Used most of the fcc on the first one and the rest on the second one. Made the decision to only book cruises with no flying involved for the foreseeable future, since I'm frankly more worried about disease on planes than I am on ships. And I'm pretty worried about disease on ships.

We've only had one cancelled so far, the TA on the Enchanted in November.  We used our FCC to pay for the TA in April that was supposed to be on the Crown, now the Sky.  Still have some left over hoping to use on an already booked Alaska for next September.

I have 3 cruises that I have used my FCC on.  Hopefully the cruises won’t be cancelled. I’m lucky compared to others as I only had my November 2020 Hawaii cruise canceled. I’m lucky as I was able to change my reservation & not loose anything.

Anyone looking for the chance to buy more FCC?

Tom😀

1. Grand Princess 03/22/20 - refund & 50% FCC
2. Grand Princess 03/29/20 - 175% FCC
Kindly explain how you managed to convince them to give your full cash refund and also extra OBC.

Normally, no cruise line offers any OBC when they give you a full cash refund.

Also why 175% FCC instead of 125%
Thanks

The Grand Princess 03/22/20 cancelation was a pre-Pause 1 cancelation due to Covid on the ship anchored in Oakland. Scroll down this link to revisit the Grand nightmare for those onboard. At least we live close by so not flying in. No plane / hotel tickets to cancel

https://www.princess.com/news/notices_and_advisories/notices/grand-princess-updates.html

The Grand Princess 03/29/20 was in the 2nd time line of Pause 1 Covid cancelations

https://www.princess.com/news/notices_and_advisories/notices/global-ship-operations-pause.html

I can't take credit for my FCC. My granddaughters cruise fare came to $1075 and they got 826.50 FCC because I insisted that it wasn't my fault that the 03/22/20 cruise (1st leg of B2B) was canceled the day before the 03/29/20 (2nd leg of B2B but I soloed on this leg). Corporate agreed and boosted the original 537.50 to 826.50

My PVP took pity on me because it took so long for corporate to respond (MONTHS) so she gave me extra OBC.

I know CR was involved at some level ever since the 1st ship cancelation in January. Not a lot and primarily through my PVP until last month. I got most of the extras by then. I only went to Kim Baldwin when 2 cancelations (03/22/20 & 09/04/20) couldn't get closed out. I never disputed the charges because I knew I'd get it eventually.  I just didn't like the delays. In the end I'm more then compensated

Our FCC for our canceled May 2020 Cruise Tour, has been applied to our May 2021 Cruise Tour.

Practiced patience and received everything back plus.

Very happy with Princess considering the hell we have all endured.   And the hell their representatives have gone through with nasty people.

Where does it say OBC?  Did I miss something?

We have loads of future cruise from 3 cancelled cruises and 2 fcc letters but Princess are saying that the future cruise credit is not usable on the 2022 cruise we want to book as it is too far in the distance and we have to use the credit earlier BUT  there are no cruises here in Australia to take before the credit runs out of date and half of it is MY money paid originally

Request an extension of the expiration date.

The half that you paid---- For Pause 3 at least, that amount would be refundable one year after it was issued. Check with Princess to see if that also applies to you.
