DH gets his 2nd shot the same day as you, I have to wait a while - but I should be done in time for a May trip. (Who am I kidding.... I'd just like to be able to go to Costco. I want OFF this farm.) 2

Rare JRIH Posted February 16, 2021 #29 Share Posted February 16, 2021 I just got off of the O website and it looks like they have cancelled the May 2021 cruises. I have a cruise booked in June and it is not looking good.

I looked at Glacier NP but no one knows how open it will be this summer and there is a lot of road construction going on there. All in park lodging is already booked up for the summer. Considering Rocky Mountain NP. Big question for Glacier is whether the Indian reservations on the east side will allow travel. We were in Glacier this past summer, and it was a real zoo because everyone was having to use the west entrance; it took us about four tries to even get in the front gate (they would turn visitors around at the entrance after they had allowed a given number of vehicles into the park). The park service campgrounds were mostly closed as well. Given the US pace of vaccination, I suspect more will be open at GNP this summer, but the visitor load may be much higher as well. cruisr Posted February 17, 2021 #33 Share Posted February 17, 2021 Yup, in line with NCL and RSSC all cruises globally cancelled thru May. Personally, I don’t know what the odds are for June and beyond.

In September I have a train/bus trip scheduled for Yellowstone and other Western Parks. alcpa1 Posted February 17, 2021 #36 Share Posted February 17, 2021 As expected our May Regatta cruise was cancelled this morning. It would have been really consumer friendly if Oceania had allowed us to move our booking on board OBC to another booked cruise. If not that then offered us the opportunity to book the sort of same itinerary at the same price. Just ANY gesture acknowledging our loyalty would have been appreciated. We are spending our winter in Puerto Vallarta where our Governor issued an order that prohibited us from going to Costco for several weeks. The rule was simple and not discriminatory. Those 60 years of age and older were prohibited from going to Costco, Supermarkets or (gasp) even Walmart! That was an eye opener. Imagine a government locking out only seniors because he thought it was in our own best interests. Only in America....oops I mean only in part of North America. Jayne E Posted February 17, 2021 #38 Share Posted February 17, 2021 Surprised not to see the 125% offer. Assume future reservations going well and no need to extend this offer. We’re booked for June 3. I guess they’ll cancel it next month prior to April 4 final payment date.

Norseh2o Posted February 17, 2021 #40 Share Posted February 17, 2021 TA quickly moved the final payment date for July, 30, 2021 cruise from 120 days to 60 days. I am not sure why, but am feeling more optimistic that the cruise might happen.

I am not sure why, but am feeling more optimistic that the cruise might happen. Read the thread titled "Oceania Extends Final Payment Dates". You'll see the following: "I just received an email extending cruise final payment and/or cancellation dates: IMPORTANT FINAL PAYMENT EXTENSION Dear Valued Guests and Travel Advisors, On behalf of your entire Oceania Cruises family, I hope you are doing well and that you are looking forward to your upcoming Oceania Cruises voyage. We know what a great deal of planning goes into a vacation and we are also acutely aware that travelers have many more concerns than they did in the past. In order to provide you with an extra measure of flexibility and peace of mind, we are amending the final payment due date for all cruises departing through October 31, 2021 to 60 days prior to departure. Additionally, cancellation penalties will not start until the new final payment deadline, at 60 days prior to departure." The reason for doing this is rather obvious. Oceania doesn't want you to cancel your cruise when you hit the normal 120 day final payment due date, which is also when cancellation penalties normally kick in. Given the uncertainty of when cruising will resume many will cancel when they hit that date. Oceania wants you to remain booked on your cruise on the chance that it will be able to sail.

Hank What were stores doing, carding people who looked to be over 60? Did residents of PA actually go along with this? Seems like age discrimination to me.
