I will be fully vaccinated in two weeks, so I will most likely not get the virus.  But un-vaccinated people could (tests are not foolproof) and the entire ship could be quarantined (although the vaccinated people should not have to be).  That is my concern with allowing un-vaccinated people on board.

There are no deal breakers for me.  I am booked for Dec. 12 this year on Liberty and fully expect to be on that cruise and doing a live review here on Cruise Critic. I will be vaccinated so I don't care if kids or other adults are.  If the powers that be force folks to wear masks or social distance similarly to what is required on land I will comply. We are doing it now any way so what difference is there.  I've almost gotten used to it. Ship sponsored excursions are what we book so that is not a deal breaker for me either. Reduced capacities will be a benefit.  I don't cruise because of C&A benefits so that isn't a deal breaker either.

 

Now shorts in the MDR, smoking in the Casino and folks that don't tip well... that is a different story!!!!!!

I don't have any  ship restricted deal breakers  ( masks, distance, limits in venues, changes for C&A offerings etc.) at this point.  I've adjusted to protocols for the  past year and will do so on board as  requested.  There isn't anything that is so horrible that we won't  get on a ship.  EXCEPT...... I probably would not go if  a vacine was NOT required.    Too easy for a non vaccinated person to become infected and quarantine the sailing.   

 

Not thrilled to have to fly ( and pay an additional $900+  to the cruise cost)  to fly to Nassau  to   take a cruise to Cozumel.  Maybe those in Florida have more reasonable fare, but ours is high)   When we fly, it has been to take cruises from  to other places ( Europe, Middle East, TA,) or even a US non Florida based cruise such as Alaska or New England/Canada.   So haven't  booked yet.  If I catch a good combination of airfare and cruise fare, we would  consider  a Nassau departure this year .   

 

Depending on the  ports, we probably would stay on the ship to avoid a ship sponsored excursion.  We've been to most of Caribbean islands dozens of times and still get off the ship and  revisit our favorite beach club, meet up with local friends, or enjoy a meal at a local restaurant.  I can't imagine we would take a ship sponsored  excursion in a city that we've visited at least 40 times ( Cozumel).  Of course Coco Cay and Labadee will offer an opportunity to get off the ship.  

 

Looking forward to concrete info and guidance from RCCL.

Deal breaker was wearing a mask while sunbathing at the pool on my lounger.  But I have verified I won't have to.  I can deal with all the other BS, don't like it, but will deal with it

This^^^ We're both vaccinated. I wear a mask everyday for work. The two of us have been dining out for a few months now. We did a test vacation run to FLL in March and were pretty comfortable and our cruises aren't sailing until November. We're ready to go.

That would be great .  How has that been verified?  I don't except to cruise anytime soon ( I expect my July-October  cruises to be cancelled)  so I admit I haven't   kept up with all RCCL announcements.

I sent an email to my BDM and she verified while laying on the lounger by the pool you don't have to wear it, guess time will tell.  When June starts and we get reports from Adventure, we will know for sure.  I will move the cruise if that is a requirement.

Deal breaker?  Probably mandarory ship excursions.  We tend to wander at ports on our own a lot and always see German tourists doing the same.  They seem to have a similar mindset to my husband especially going off the beaten bath with hiking and biking.  It is our joke that it must be fun if we see the Germans.  On a few transatlantics, we would recognize them from the ship and would nod and smile when seeing them later.  I wonder what my adventurous fellow German travelers would say to the rumored ship excursions?

I thought we had no deal breakers but flying to Nassau is one for me!  So got around that by booking Celebrity out of St. Marten which I don’t mind flying into and spending a few days before the cruise.  Really excited about cruising again!

My deal breaker has been and will be the requirement for a negative PCR test 72 hours before boarding. Up here in northern Michigan it takes 5-7 days to get test results back. Albeit, we did get our tests back last December in 4 days. We were warned it usually took 5-7 days and that hasn't changed.

At this point, I'd do ANYTHING to get back on a ship!  I'm a healthcare worker, so I'm already vaccinated through work and I get tested every single week...and I'm prioritized because of where I work.

Masks, vaccines, excursions, flying, passports, etc etc. All nuisances but none are deal breakers. I have no issues complying with any of them.

 

The only thing right now keeping me from booking one of the cruises from Nassau is my inability to make the dates work with my schedule. Otherwise I would’ve already booked. Total price, including airfare isn’t more than what I would expect to pay for a similar cruise from FL. 
 

- Passport? Got it!

- Vaccine? Got it!

- Mask? Got like 100!

For those of you saying that you won’t fly: Respectfully, I’m genuinely curious what your reasoning is. Are you against flying specifically to cruise, or are you against flying at all? Is the added cost of flying a prohibitive expense? Fear factor? Health? Too much of a hassle? Etc.

I do get not wanting to fly when someone conveniently lives close to a port of embarkation (I know since I used to live in Ft Lauderdale, between Port Miami and Port Everglades). But for me, after a while, cruising from the same ports became too repetitive, even if it was convenient and cheaper. Allowing myself to fly to go on a cruise opened up a whole new world worth the added hassle and expense.
