Royal's ships 2023/24

Recommended Posts

I have been trolling everything about Lelepa but there nothing about Royal Caribbean and the new resort.

There’s a couple of things about charities upgrading the solar electricity and water supplies for the island.

But nothing about the new resort.

Do you think they are waiting for Uncle Sam to open his wallet??

Lots of talk about money in the South Pacific?

Icon of the seas.

The dry dock they are building it in is 367 meters long.

Wonder is 362 meters long , so I think the new Icon class should be a bit longer.

Icon of the seas.

Here’s the other end of the ship. It’s got a parabolic bow which is straight up and down. It only just fits in the dry dock.

Notice the infinity cabins like the newer celebrity ships.

I am seeing posts that Enchantment of the Seas will be replaced with Brilliance of the Seas for 23/24 season. Has anybody else seen anything about this?

I haven’t seen anything but I wouldn’t be surprised.

I did see it has cancelled cruises next year.

I have only seen Vision of the Seas having some port entries for 24/25, but that could mean anything.

I don’t believe enchantment will come to the pacific .

The Australia and the Alaska run is one of the bid cash cows .

They won’t deploy a old wreck like enchantment or even vision to a big ticket like Alaska.

Brilliance of the has been withdrawn from sale for the Northern Summer 2023. Still on sale for the Northern Winter till Easter 2024 from Tampa.

One of the Oz Pinnacles has heard a rumour Brilliance could be Oz bound.

You may have to do some more P&O Straya cruises, Chili.  But then the P&O ships are rather ancient.

Sydney Ports are not listing Enchantment.

it just says unnamed vessel.

Our Enchantment OTS 2 sector round Australia 2024 cruise is now onboard the Brilliance OTS, was confirmed via email sent to a friend by her TA this morning . Time will tell.... I don't particular care which one as long as we have one....😉🤣

@chiliburn Philip, have you been following the thread on Quantum's engine problems?

Do you think it will make it here?

They are still notifying Alaska passengers that Quantum’s engine won’t be fix  at least the end of September early October.

Im thinking they could swap it for Navigator?

But I don’t know if Quantum can hookup to shore power in L.A.

Quantum will be in Brisbane.

Speculation of the Seas will not make it.

A Brisbane to Singapore cruise or vv in February 2023 on Quantum sounds great for a dry dock!

( I can dream)

A few swapping of ships occurred due to speed restrictions and efficiencies of the ships, as per the other thread. Our Brilliance cruise is now an Enchantment one in the Med next year.

The word is a ship year round in Brisbane 2024 .

Im trying to find out which ship .
My thoughts are it will be a Voyeger class and the only one that hasn’t been to the pacific is Adventure of the seas.

Only a possibility if Voyager class will fit into the Trinity Inlet channel in Cairns. I am not sure they have dredged it that much.

I think the turning basin would not be wide enough.

Voyager class ships are around 311 meters long. Celebrity Eclipse which has to anchor off Yorkey's Knob is 317 meters long. Coral Princess, which does dock, is 294 meters.

Apparently voyager will fit into trinity inlet in Cairns but Royal Caribbean won’t take it in.

I was reading Ports north supplied the relevant information to both RCG and Carnival but they declined to take anything over 300 meters.

They said the channel isn’t wide enough if a wind pops up.
