I just checked the radar and see a line of storms in Atlanta but not here further south yet. Actually the sun is out. Hope the rain doesn't last too long. We've had enough of that lately (sorry we can't send you some Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser). Well, we got up this morning and walked through the neighborhood. Went 3 miles, and each time we walk outside we have a choice of which "pod" or group of homes we want to see. Went a way today we hadn't in a while, and it was enjoyable. Next thing I did was remove the bandage from my forehead and it was rather a shock. A bigger cut than I thought it would be. I just hope it heals well and doesn't leave a big scar. I'll be getting out the Mederma to help it fade. No photos will be posted here, never fear!😲 I am not a doctor but have had a lot of experience with having Mohs on my face, most recently in January. I have always used vaseline to keep it moist. Works great and my recent incision is already fading. Another thing, keep it out of the sun. It will be much more susceptible to burning. It will be Ok, just give it some time. 21
Live4cruises Posted February 23, 2022 #78 Share Posted February 23, 2022 Good afternoon from a lazy day in NE OK. The temperature is in the teens, and the sleet has let up. Forecast says that it will start again overnight. The roads look a mess, but thankfully, it’s sleet and not freezing rain, so trees and lines are clear. We are well provisioned, and enjoying our fireplace today. We have been to Naples I think twice, both times on excursions away from town. Thank you all for posting the amazing food porn - it looks absolutely wonderful! I too often have a tough time coming up with something interesting to post (hence the weather report), but am just happy to be part of this community. My best to everyone - it sounds as if many are “enjoying” winter weather now - thanks for caring and sharing. Hugs and strength to those who are ill or caregivers. Cheers for those with good health news!

CrabbyPatti Posted February 23, 2022 #84 Share Posted February 23, 2022 Good Morning Everyone! I am sure Holly will appreciate the dog biscuit when she gets home from "daycare" She goes to daycare once a week, to help her acclimate to us being gone. She is finally starting to relax around strangers, she is a "Covid" puppy and due to all the restrictions we didn't get her out and about for meeting people as much as we wanted and she tends to be shy of people. I sure enjoy all the cruise pictures people are posting. Those of you cruising I hope you have very enjoyable cruises. @dfish the meatloaf with white wine and the pistachios sounds really interesting, I have printed the recipe and will plan for it this weekend! Thank you those of you that gave me some luggage suggestions last week, I have been researching it as we have decided for our 45th anniversary next year we will go on a Panama Canal cruise! Now to start planning! Be safe, prayers to all who need them, Denise
JazzyV Posted February 23, 2022 #85 Share Posted February 23, 2022 Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily. I'm sure dogs appreciate dog biscuits. A salute to tennis and curling. Also I think Pink Shirt Day is a wonderful way to combat bullying. Good quote. I am a big George R.R. Martin fan. I like the meal and wine; pass on the drink. I have been to Pompei/Amalfi on a land trip. Thanks for the pictures, since I wasn't in Naples itself. The temps are falling and it's gray outside. I spent part of the morning making sourdough bread dough. It's now doing it's 12 slow rise in the proofing box, then will be shaped and go into the fridge overnight. Then I got my haircut. I was pleased to see my salon is still masking (staff and customers). @Cruzin Terri It's great that you continue to feel well. @Mr. Boston Happy Birthday to your DH! @smitty34877 Continued prayers for Tana and the family as you all deal with her illness. @StLouisCruisers Sorry the incision was bigger than you expected, and I hope it heals well. I hope Jen's pain isn't too awful. @Horizon chaser 1957 Oh my, awful about the email hijacking and getting it straightened out! @kazu I vote that you stay on the prayer list; you're not monopolizing it! @rafinmd Thanks for your dedication to the Daily, even while cruising. @lindaler HAPPY BIRTHDAY! @Lady Hudson I'm glad you're having a great time. @Sharon in AZ Glad you enjoyed the dinner; that's a long time since you've seen them. @grapau27 Good news on the scan. Some years ago my MD thought my abdominal aorta seemed too pulsatile, so I got one, and it was fine. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Stay safe everyone. 20

They said some people take a year to return to normal. There are nerves that have to regrow and they regrow slowly. 😨 15

I just don't understand people like that. We have been to Naples many times, but never spent any time in the city. Instead we went to Pompeii twice, Herculaneum once, spent a few days on the Amalfi Coast, and climbed the last mile up to the top of Vesuvius. Once we went to a buffalo cheese farm. 😂 We're all happy today, as today is the day DS and DDIL are closing on the house they bought here after moving from CA. They don't plan on moving in any time soon, because they plan to start major renovations to the whole house. That will take a few years to finish, but they hope to start some of it before moving in. Here are some photos from some of our visits to Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius. Sunset over Naples Naples and Vesuvius at night from our ship At the top of Vesuvius looking down into the steaming crater View of Naples from the top of Vesuvius Victim in Pompeii.....tragic Cinque Terre The boat houses in Herculaneum People killed at the marina during the eruption Next 3 photos are scenes of Herculaneum Thank you for climbing to the top of Vesuvius for us and sharing your pictures. Now, DH and I don't have to make that climb. 😁 Congratulations to your DS and DDIL on the closing. It sounds like they have a big job ahead of them. 2 hours ago, Lady Hudson said: Happy February 23rd to all! Prayers for all on the care list. Overhead Fred Posted February 23, 2022 #94 Share Posted February 23, 2022 (edited) Hooray for Tennis Day!! I will be playing at 7 PM tonight and 7:30 AM Saturday morning. We have a group that plays every Wednesday and Saturday for 1 1/2 hours. We usually have 3 courts of doubles (12 players) and switch teams around each 1/2 hour. On Wednesday nights many of us head to a local pub for beer after playing. On Saturday morning, we gather for coffee after the matches. I am late today because we had a meeting with our financial guys. Turns out we can afford the gas fireplace we had installed yesterday🤪! The install went smoothly and the snow mostly held off until they were done with the work on the roof. Mtn2Sea Posted February 23, 2022 #95 Share Posted February 23, 2022 We’ve been to Naples several times while cruising the Mediterranean. On one of our recent stops, we took a taxi from the cruise terminal to the National Archaeological Museum, which includes many frescoes from Pompeii. The museum also has a small Egyptian section. 30

I believe I was posting about our Antarctica cruise on Seabourn during the late December, 2020 to January, 2021 time period. And we would have been in Grytviken Jan. 5 so I may have posted about South Georgia Island on Jan. 5, 2021. Particularly because we were at Sir Ernest Shackleton's grave site and it being the anniversary of his death. As for passing Elephant Island that would have been January 2, so if you go back to Jan. 2, 2021 you should find something there. The timing of my posting was not port of the day related, but actually cruise-time related. Let me know if I can be of further help. 15
