Utopia of the Seas Blocks Are In The House!

Recommended Posts

Logged in last night after someone on FB said bookings were live. Checked out the prices and showed myself to the door.

Maybe they are marketing to the Disney crowd because they aren't marketing to me. I guess I wait a couple of years on this one. I'm not paying North of 2K for a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas.

Well it was fun while it lasted.

Our flight in 2018 was supposed to be 28

Orlando - Atlanta - Tokyo - Singapore

Ended up being 64 😱

Orlando - Atlanta - Detroit - Shanghai - Singapore

Ooof, now that's painful. I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but if it does, at least we have 5 days of leeway before the cruise starts so we should make it 😅

We are not as frequent cruisers as most of you, so just held two dates and am thinking on it.  Just got off Wonder, and booked in suites on Icon in 25, so may just do a "quickie" 5 day on independence during spring break 2024 for less than 1/2 Utopia 3 day, AND we get to go to Grand Cayman.  I may change my mind and be swayed by the brightest and shiniest thing, but not sure if I am seeing enough of a difference from Wonder to be worth it for three days...  Thoughts?.

Very similar to Wonder (which was expected). That's partially why I'm only considering it when the prices between the two got somewhat close (unlike the inaugural).

With exceptions to holiday sailings and suites, prices for the Utopia sailings are not crazy in comparison to other sailings.  I did a comparison between Allure, Utopia, and Wonder sailings where the itineraries include a stop at PDCC.  I pulled the pricing for a base balcony for 2 passengers and found the per person per day prices for these sailings.  You can see below that the per person per night pricing for Utopia (red line) tracks pretty closely with the Allure (blue line) sailings.  Interestingly, the price per person per night for the Wonder sailings (yellow line) is mostly higher than the Utopia sailings.

One difference is Wonder and Allure have been on sale for quite a while. Utopia has been on sale for less than 24 hours.

No wonderland and no Bionic bar.  two good removes I say.  Location of Giovannis is now great.

Agreed. Hoping the Pesky Parrot has some unique drinks like the Bamboo Room on Mariner. No big deal if it's just another bar that happens to be tiki themed but I like signature drinks to try with my vouchers.

and then let us sit back and watch the other Bionic bars removed.  On the Quantum class ships it is in a location with lots of foot traffic and the whole area could be better served with something else.

But someone once said drinks at the Bionic bar can be a bit cheaper than other bars.  Still good choice for Utopia. Glad I booked B2B for the 3rd and 4th cruise when she comes out.

Agree. I could take two 7 night cruises for what one 4 night would cost during the month of July 2024.  I can wait a long time before I jump on this ship with those rates.  I love the other sisters, so 7 nights it will be.

We were booked for 11 nights on Explorer for Southern Caribbean fall 2024 out of Miami. We are doing Southern Caribbean this winter so decided to move our booking over to Utopia and try something new so doing b3b 4/3/4 nights.

Nassau doesn't really interest us so it will be a great opportunity to really explore the ship. We like Coco Cay for easy beach days with the kids so should be a wonderful time. Plus Orlando offers us so many more flight options than Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.

Having just been on Wonder (very similar to Utopia) for 7-nights and barely getting off the ship, I think you'll have a great time doing CocoCay and the ship. Highly recommend the Mason Jar brunch while I'm typing.

We're likely doing a 3/4 B2B on Utopia ourselves next March. We'll have been on Wonder several times by then so the ship won't have a ton of new offerings to us but we love Cococay and have no problem sailing "for the ship."

Um…no. I’m not. These are clearly Disney add-ons and I’ve sailed on these 3/4 nighters from PC. As others have said, they’re not party cruises. I was on Indy for 4th of July last year. Felt no different from a week-long from Florida.

I have been on Indy 16 times (all three night cruises) in the last couple years. I am not sure what you missed, but yes... every one of them was party, party, party. I stay away, and keep to the peacefulness of the casino. (comparitively speaking) 😆

I got this on Wonder this past Tuesday as well. I like it.. but then again I like ball caps. Gonna be difficult for me to keep the white.. clean.

Love that they will have a non-smoking casino.  It will be interesting to see how crowded it gets.  Perhaps someday they will swap out the larger for non-smoking and the smaller for smoking.  I guess it depends on how many smokers cruise and gamble.  🙂

Although I smoke, I went into the Wonder non-smoking casino this past week to just get away from all the noise. It was dead in there every night... so much so that I actually had to turn down the slot machine I was playing. However, it was peaceful, and I didn't have to have my AirPods in.

The casino on the Wonder is non-smoking?! How many other Royals ships (casinos) are?

There are two casinos.  One is smoking, one is non. On several of the older Oasis class they have already replaced Jazz on 4 with a non-smoking casino. Utopia is being built with it.

So, not just a pseudo division, but fully smoke free?

The 3 night cruises that sail over the weekends tend to have a more party rowdy atmosphere compared to the 4 night cruises that sail during the week.
