We visited Seydisfjordur this past August while aboard the N. Statendam.  Prior to the cruise, we had booked an excursion that took us out of town, but a few days prior to our arrival, we received a letter from the excursions office that the excursion had been oversold and, since we had purchased the excursion later in the process, we were canceled.  After spending some time in the terminal building using their WiFi, we enjoyed walking around town.

I am on an I pad or I use my Samsung phone. I would love to give it a try but feel rather confused as there is no right or left click option with either. I would appreciate it if you could do your magic and thank you in advance. I promise I will seek adult children tech assist later today!

Nice photos!  It reminds me a lot of Isafjordur.  I think you did fine just staying in town and getting to roam and get a feel for the place.

Good morning all!

We got home late last night after a wonderful 28 days on the Nieuw Statendam.  It's good to be home though, now to adjust to the time zone change and time change all in the same day. 😉  Our luggage didn't all come home with us, only one smaller bag.  The other two larger bags got onto a later flight (so much for priority tags).  They will deliver them to us some time this morning.  We were exhausted last night and weren't about to wait another 3 hours for that flight and then the hour-long drive home.

Praying we don't get sick because for 8+ hours on two different flights we sat behind or in front of a couple who coughed all through the flights (no masks of course).  The strangest thing was they had masks hanging from their wrists and never used them. Between that and the taxi driver in Fort Lauderdale who sneezed all through the ride (no mask) it will be a miracle if we stay healthy.

I had a shock this morning once it got light out and looked out the window to see a large tree had fallen on our next-door neighbor's house!!  I knew there had been a bad wind storm and power outages all through the area, but had no idea about this.  She's a widow and has always had a fear of wind storms, and now this.  I've been texting with her this morning -- she's physically ok, but of course very shaken up.  Lots and lots of damage to her house. She and I are both furious because just a few months ago the HOA had the tree service out, they took down a few trees and assured us the rest were all OK.  Not!  They need to take them all down before someone is badly hurt.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

Not sure why it's Daylight Savings Day since we just started Standard Time. I won't be happy about it getting dark so early. I still need to change the time on my German cuckoo clock and the Grandfather clock I built. I'll salute Ladies learning code, and I like jazz saxophone. Sweet quote.

I like the meal, drink and wine.

I haven't been to Seydisfjordur, Iceland.

Another warm and partly sunny day here. As the wind has died down, I may work on leaves later. I didn't notice any extra sleep as I went to bed late and woke up early!

@grapau27 Thank you for Fr. David's sermon today. Good luck with the doctor's visit tomorrow for some help for your hip pain.

@rafinmd Thanks for the lists and enjoy your time visiting your niece and then on your cruise.

@cat shepard Fun names for the snow plows!

@HAL4NOW Sorry to hear the power is still out.

@dfish I'm glad to hear you are in your new house. Now the fun of getting it just the way you want it.

@Mtn2Sea Great photos.

@StLouisCruisers Thanks for posting @smitty34877 Terry's photos. I only know how to do it on the PC too, although I never tried on my iPad.

@Cruising-along Welcome home. Prayers that you stay healthy! Oh no on your neighbor's house; at least she's safe but it sounds like a major issue with her house. And the tree people didn't find that the tree was not well grounded. Sad.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List.

Stay safe everyone.

Carolyn, that's such a shame the widow neighbor had a tree fall and damage her house!  I always worry about that when I see large trees standing near homes.  It will be a lot of work repairing it I'm sure.

Hope the other luggage arrives safely and as scheduled today.  Praying you don't get sick either from the inconsiderate people on your plane trips, plus that sneezing cab driver.  Maybe load up on vitamin C and zinc today just in case.   Can't hurt!

We enjoyed a nice church service and sermon. We have a couple coming over for dinner tonight and I been tasked with being the executive chef. I’m making my popular spaghetti sauce which is pretty much an all day process of tweaking it throughout the day. The sauce or gravy is from scratch. Pork neck bones for flavor, a little bacon, ground beef/pork, fresh herbs and lot’s of red wine. Needless to say the house is quite aromatic with garlic, onions, and seasonings as it simmers all day.

I believe we have finally adjusted to Central time which will last two weeks before we fly to California to visit with our son and his family and granddaughter Tilly for a couple of weeks stay. Besides Thanksgiving visiting Hearst Castle and some surrounding wineries are on the schedule.

Another beautiful clear day with temperatures in the eighties. We just missed out on some rain yesterday and unfortunately don’t see any in the forecast.

We did early voting and I hope people exercise their voting rights.
Have a great week.

Bruce

It seems it didn't matter which 9 am DH was scheduled for PT, since the information about PT was wrong.  The clocks here are finally on the correct time.  I just need to adjust the clocks in the cars.

DH asked me to pick up a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit for him on my way here.  I'm guessing the time change affected whoever put it together because they forgot the egg!  At least, DH got the bacon,  cheese and biscuit. 😁

Good morning friends!  Thanks to everyone who contributes here each day.  Not sure Daylight Savings Day is something to celebrate but it is what it is.  I like Ladies Learning Code day and saxophones, too.  The quote is very lovey dovey!  I guess I would try potato leek soup.  Congratulations to the Houston Astros for their World Series win.  Thanks to Graham @grapau27for Father David's weekly sermon.   Ann@cat shepardthat was a great list of Minnesota snowplows you found.  Such creativity they have!

Prayers for everyone on the Care list.  I hope Jacqui's foot is better (will read her thread next).  Also hope Steve's rehab is improving him every day so he can return home sooner rather than later.  Cheers to all on the Celebration list.  And happy cruising to all the cruisers listed.

Today's port of Seydisfjordur is one of the cities of Iceland I have not been to yet.  It was cancelled on us in 2020 and 2021.  It was supposed to be visited this past summer but that never came to pass either.  Here is Rich's post from the first time it was listed as destination of the day.  By the way I noticed photos from Terry @smitty34877from there as well as @KirkNC and @baltic17.

I hope Debbie and sis are progressing with unpacking today.  Don't do too much at one time ladies.

Have a great day everyone!

Sandi, we appreciate your good wishes for a speedy recovery.  Because of the pressure from the spinal stenosis the nerves in his lower back and legs need to heal.  That will take time, but they are already working better.

Have lived in Arizona for 22 years and have not missed Daylight Savings Time at all. Maybe the rest of the country will join Hawaii and AZ in the future.  It's not as bad as some think.

If we time it right getting to and leaving AZ we don't need to adjust the clocks in Texas. Since Quartzsite is so close to California, we have to remember if AZ time is an hour earlier or the same time as CA time.  Even though it gets darker earlier in the winter, I would prefer staying on standard time year round.

Terry, are you on an IPhone, laptop, or Ipad?  I only move photos from my laptop, not my phone.  That seems like it would be harder so someone else would have to give instructions.

You click on the link in my post above and that will take you to the Daily on June 29, 2021.  Scroll down to your first post #14 where you have two photos.  I would place my cursor at the beginning of the sentence that starts out "We have been to the port..." and left click at that spot, holding the left click button down and slide it down the page to the bottom of the second picture.  This turns the material blue.  Release the button then right click on the blue material (I usually right click on the text portion because it displays a lot fewer options than if you right click on the photos).  Click COPY.  Then open a reply box here and paste into the reply box.  Go back and do the same for the two photos you added in post #16.  Once you've pasted all the photos here on this thread, click submit reply.

Or just say the word and I can transport them here for you.  😁

Terry, what Sandi  @StLouisCruisers decribed is what I do too.  I tried once highlighting my post on this tablet.  The text appeared when I pasted it, but the pictures didn't transfer.  I'm  glad Sandi was able to post your pictures.  When I saw the picture of you and DH, I wondered if we've been on a cruise together.  You both looked very familiar.

Carolyn, I'm glad you had a great cruise and made it home safely.  We've also have had luggage delivered later when it missed our flight.   How awful for your neighbor to have the tree fall on her house.  I hope the HOA or someone can get the tree service to pay all or part of the repairs.  I hope you and DH stay well.

@Mtn2Sea Great photos.

Vanessa, I have a German cuckoo clock, and I took the easy way out since the time was going back.  I stopped the pendulum and set a timer for one hour.  When I restarted the pendulum,  the clock was on the correct time.  It saved having to move the hands through 11 hours.

Good Sunday morning!  I stayed in bed a long time this morning because I was up till midnight watching the WS and the celebrations afterward.   We had a beautiful sunrise so that got me out of bed finally.  Heading to visit DB in rehab soon.   He said don't come too early, that is fine with me.

Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Report Rich.   The quote sounds like it came from the book Love Story, made into a movie in the late 60s?.   The cocktail looks yummy something for Happy Hour on a BHB.  The soup is OK, don't care much for potato soup and the wine looks good.  Thanks for doing the research for these each day! @dfishI hope your unpacking is going well today!  Thanks for the Care and Celebrations list Roy especially doing so when on the way to your Eurodam cruise.  Prayers for all on the care list, the people of Ukraine and Lenda I hope your DHs PT goes well.  I hoope my DB gets his on a Sunday too. Thanks for the wonderful photos @Mtn2Seaand Sandi.    Have a wonderful day!  Nancy

Well, it just poured rain, although now the sun is out. So no working on leaves this afternoon.

@aliaschief That sauce sounds wonderful!

@Quartzsite Cruiser Lenda, I usually do the same. Sometimes I don't set a timer and then I forget, and have to wait for the next day if the correct time would happen in the middle of the night.

@ottahand7 Good to hear DB is looking better today.

i couldn’t resist posting a recipe for potato leek soup. We really love it and it is very simple to make. I don’t add cream to mine, I find that puréing i5 makes it creamy enough. However adding the cream gives it a different dimension. We grow our own leeks because we use a lot between three families but they do take a long time to mature hence the high price.

Thanks Rich and all for the regular posts. I feel so good when I visit like coming home to family. Today is beautiful and sunny but yesterday it poured shortly after I finished some yard work. It is amazing to see all the new rivers formed by a heavy rain. My son came over with his ladder and checked on what sounded like a big branch landing on the roof last night.  He found nothing and told me it was probably just a possum falling from the big oak onto the roof. At least there was no damage. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good afternoon from Charleston!  We have had a lovely time here, me with my Faith & Food Girlfriends and Craig spending time reading, eating and some sightseeing. We are now at the airport waiting to board our first flight to Atlanta then will fly Atlanta to Tucson, getting home really late. Tomorrow we pick up Blue. Yay!

Friday the Girlfriends went on a 3 hour walking tour lead by a chef ending up at a restaurant where he spent 2 hours cooking for us. It was amazing!

That evening, oh yes, that was last night, we had a cooking class with one of the Girlfriends. Beef Wellington, roasted fingerling potatoes and carrots with a wine pairing.  OMG!  Amazing and such fun.
